Song Qiao didn’t recognize the person at first, but as soon as she heard that voice, she imdiately realized it was Lu Jingchen’s secretary, apparently Secretary Xu. She had t him before when she went to CK Corporation to find Lu Jingchen; it was this secretary who had co down to escort her upstairs.
Secretary Xu felt a hostile gaze upon him and turned his head to look. He saw the girl standing next to the president’s wife looking at him with dissatisfaction and felt very gloomy and perplexed. When had he ever offended the president’s wife’s friend? Why was there this inexplicable hostility towards him?
It was quite frustrating for Secretary Xu, who actually lived not far from this neighborhood. He had just seen his boss preparing to carry water outside of the security room by chance, and reflexively got out of the car to help. Initially, he was confused and surprised to find his boss in such a place. It was only after he ca up and saw Song Qiao that he realized why. It turns out the president’s wife had been living here before, which explained why she had seed vaguely familiar the first ti he saw Song Qiao up close at CK; he must have seen her on one of the days he passed by on his way to work.
Seeing Secretary Xu struggling with the bucket of water, Song Qiao quickly pointed towards the kitchen and said, "You really shouldn’t have, you can just put it inside, thank you!"
Secretary Xu was pleasantly surprised and hastily waved his hand, speaking sowhat breathlessly, "No trouble, no trouble at all, it’s what I should do!"
With that, he carried the water towards the kitchen, while Ning Wan, with a aningful glance at Lu Jingchen, didn’t say anything but took the cup Song Qiao had been drinking milk from and followed Secretary Xu into the kitchen, leaving Song Qiao and Lu Jingchen standing in the living room.
Lu Jingchen looked towards the kitchen with an inscrutable gaze and, turning his head towards Song Qiao, strode towards her with his long legs. Lifting his well-defined hand slightly, he brushed the strand of hair from her forehead to behind her ear, his voice low and entwined with a hint of sensuality, "Have you finished packing?"
"Not yet!" Perhaps it was because the weather was too hot, but Song Qiao felt a sheen of perspiration forming on her forehead and her ears felt sowhat warm. To ease the atmosphere, she looked up at him and asked, "Would you like so water?"
Lu Jingchen’s eyes calmly fixed on her, he replied, "No need, I’ve already had so. If you haven’t finished packing, keep going. We’ll go to the villa first later, then to the office. Do you still need my help packing?"
His deep gaze stared intently at her face, enveloping her like an impenetrable net, leaving no avenue for escape.
Yan Xunhuan felt as if he was about to fall into a deep and unfathomable vortex, not seeing the bottom. Subconsciously waving his hand, he hastily lowered his head to decline the offer, "I’m almost done packing, no need for your help. Please wait here in the living room for a mont!"
After saying that, he turned and walked into his own room, even casually closing the door behind him.
Lu Jingchen retracted his hand that was still in midair, stared at the tightly shut door for a while, and then slowly withdrew his gaze, his eyes harboring an obscure and unfathomable expression that was difficult to read.
Secretary Xu approached Lu Jingchen and respectfully said, "President, I’ve helped Miss Ning and the others with the water. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be heading back now!"

Secretary Xu was taken aback and then imdiately shook his head with a smile, refusing, "President, I don’t need to take leave. My mother’s condition is fairly stable, so I’m able to work normally every day!"
Moreover, taking leave would directly deduct from the perfect attendance bonus. CK Corporation differed from other groups; the rules were very strict, and the bonuses and other benefits were very high.
Even the perfect attendance award alone was several tis that of other companies.
