Lu Jingchen looked up coolly at Xi Mohan across from him, his eyes slightly narrowing as a subtle smile curled upon his lips.
Yet in his heart, he sighed repeatedly. This man, Xi Mohan, was seriously TMD ill, showing up in his office early in the morning and sitting there for hours without a word, not even a fart, just sitting quietly like a ghost. If it weren’t for occasionally lifting his eyes to see him sitting across from himself, combined with his exceedingly cold aura, he would have easily forgotten there was a person sitting opposite him.
Having been stared at by him all morning, he really wanted to pry the man’s mouth open to see if he had actually beco mute, so he could arrange for a doctor to treat him.
Xi Mohan, of course, did not know what Lu Jingchen was thinking. His face remained impassive as ever, and aside from the mont when Lu Jingchen spoke and he darkened his expression for a bit, it was hard to glean any additional emotions, his whole being seed as if enclosed within a millennium-old glacier. Even when the secretary brought in coffee just now, she was frightened to the point of not daring to breathe loudly.
He picked up his cellphone to check the ti, then looked up at the man across from him and spoke in an even tone, "You’ve been sitting here for three hours now, and it’s almost ti to finish work. Don’t you need to go back to your company? Doesn’t Xi Group need you anymore?"
Xi Mohan still did not speak, his gaze shifting towards the floor-to-ceiling window behind Lu Jingchen, as if looking through it to sowhere else.
Looking at Xi Mohan in front of him, Lu Jingchen thought of a word to describe him.
Half-dead.
Besides this word, he really couldn’t think of any other word to describe the guy.
The man opposite him still did not speak, and Lu Jingchen ran out of patience. Because of this guy, he had hardly accomplished any work in the morning. After all, the fellow’s presence was too overbearing to ignore, and it was more than just an eyesore; at this very mont, he truly wished soone would throw the man out.
But after considering the strength of his own bodyguards compared to the man in front of him who had spent over a decade in the military, he realized they weren’t even on the sa level, so he abandoned the idea.
He tossed his cellphone back onto the desk, Lu Jingchen squinting his deep eyes, and scoffed, "Are you here to play mute because you’re bored? Not even farting, Xi Mohan, what on earth do you want to do? If you’re unhappy, do you have to drag down with you? Or is it that Ning Wan has died out there?"
The sound of a cup smashing on the floor rang out the next second, followed by the man across from him suddenly standing up, the chair screeching against the floor.
"Lu Jingchen, don’t think I won’t beat you up," Xi Mohan’s face was filled with chilling intent, and his eyes turned sharp.
Lu Jingchen’s eyebrows lifted slightly, but his expression remained unchanged. He was initially surprised by the man’s overreaction, but thinking about it, he seed to understand, his voice still unhurried as he said, "I thought you had actually beco mute, reacting so strongly. Is Ning Wan really in trouble? Didn’t you dislike her? Why so anxious about her? Mo Han, have you fallen for her?"
Although phrased as a question, there was a tinge of certainty in it,
