The man’s face imdiately turned cold upon hearing her words, he stood up, "Song Qiao, do you really think I’m annoyed with you?"
Song Qiao crossed her legs, her gaze still filled with anger, fully certain of her own thoughts, "Isn’t that the case? When I was watching a movie in the study, you just shut down my computer without asking if I wanted you to. You just carried back here, and now you’re waking from my sleep..."
"Is that what you think?" Lu Jingchen narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze carrying a dangerous aura as he looked at the woman in front of him.
Song Qiao t the man’s cold gaze and instinctively shrank her neck, then beca annoyed at herself for why she was afraid of him, and spoke through gritted teeth, "Yes."
’Bang~’ The sound of the door being slamd shut echoed in her ears. Song Qiao sat on the sofa sowhat dazedly looking at the closed door, obviously a bit confused as to why the man suddenly left in a fit of rage.
Her eyes fell on the food on the coffee table in front of her. Song Qiao frowned, her stomach growling twice uncomfortably, but after only a few seconds of consideration, she stood up, brought the dishes to herself, and began eating.
No matter how angry she is, she shouldn’t take it out on her own health.
Downstairs in the living room, Mrs. Chen walked in with a delivery from outside. Seeing Lu Jingchen’s grim expression, she imdiately stopped, "Sir, do you need to eat now?"
No need," said Lu Jingchen, his handso face gloomy as he quickly went to the door, changed his shoes, was about to leave, but then seed to rember sothing, stopped and turned to Mrs. Chen, speaking indifferently, "I won’t be back tonight. There’s no need to prepare my dinner."
"Alright, sir." Mrs. Chen, seeing the gloom on his face, though curious, did not inquire further and responded.
Song Qiao had just eaten a few bites when she heard the sound of a car engine outside. Her movents paused montarily, and in just a few seconds, she continued to eat.
The food tasted bland. Even though it was her favorite dish that she would usually enjoy, at this mont, it felt as tasteless as wax.
Soone knocked on the bedroom door. Song Qiao stopped what she was doing, knowing that Jingchen had left and that even if it was him, he wouldn’t knock, so she clearly understood that it must be Mrs. Chen outside, and said faintly, "Co in."
Mrs. Chen entered, holding a delivery package and said, "Madam, the delivery person just ca by, saying it’s for you. I went out to sign for it on your behalf."
Song Qiao’s gaze landed on the delivery in Mrs. Chen’s hands, her eyebrows knitted, unable to recall when she ordered anything online.
Putting down her chopsticks, she took it, glanced over it, confird that it was addressed to her at this location without a phone number, its size akin to a cell phone box. Without giving it much thought, she set it aside, lost her appetite as she looked at the food on the coffee table, and instructed Mrs. Chen, "Mrs. Chen, please take it away for ."
Mrs. Chen, looking at the barely touched dish and rembering how the master had left with a dark expression earlier, imdiately realized what had happened and asked directly, "Madam, did you have a fight with the master?"
