Song Qiao was taken aback, her gaze falling upon the man’s handso face that carried a hint of fatigue. For so reason, an unusual feeling surfaced in her heart.

Upon hearing Song Qiao’s words, a flicker of astonishnt crossed Xi Mohan’s face, but it quickly resud its indifferent composure. With a smirk, he then coolly replied, "Are you suggesting that I should just let her go, then?"
Song Qiao stiffened in silence, evidently in agreent with this idea.
Xi Mohan’s expression darkened slightly as a cold sneer appeared in his eyes. He spoke unhurriedly, "Given her current capabilities, she simply cannot survive by herself in An City. The Ning Family has had no place for her since many years ago. Do you think if she were to leave my protection, she would still be able to thrive in An City?"
Hearing his words, Song Qiao’s expression changed, and her grip on her handbag involuntarily tightened. But she could not deny that what Xi Mohan said was true.
Even though the Ning Family could not cover the sky with one hand in An City, it would still be effortless for them to want Ning Wan to have an accident. Moreover, Xi Mohan had already annulled his marriage with Ning Yan’er because of Ning Wan.
On her way to work in the morning, she glanced over the news and naturally ca across the falling stock prices of the Ning Family, and even saw the utterly embarrassed face of Ning Yan’er’s father in the news.
Song Qiao was not very familiar with Ning Yan’er’s father but had t him once. It was that man who personally ca to find Ning Wan, his attitude was extrely forceful as he demanded Ning Wan to leave Xi Mohan. He even told Ning Wan not to fantasize about reaching above her status and to think of marrying Xi Mohan, stating that only his daughter was worthy of a man like Xi Mohan.
At that ti, Song Qiao found that uncle particularly distasteful, almost unable to stop herself from hurling a soy sauce bottle at his head.

Having said that, he turned towards the ward. As he passed by Song Qiao, he paused, then spoke softly to her, "Jingchen is after all injured, and not lightly. If you’re not busy, spend more ti with him. He likes having the woman he loves by his side. I will arrange for Ning Wan’s discharge in a few days; you won’t need to co over often."
With that, he didn’t wait for Song Qiao to respond and walked straight into the ward.
Suddenly, Song Qiao turned and looked at the closed door, a coldness flashing in her eyes. She stood at the door for a while, then turned on her high heels and left.
Inside the ward, Ning Wan was holding a cup of water. As the man entered, she imdiately set down the cup and coldly said, "Xi Mohan, don’t you have anything better to do? Can you stop coming to my ward all the ti?"
The man was almost constantly present in front of her for more than twenty hours a day; rely one look at him was enough to annoy her, but now TMD she saw him before sleep and saw him again upon waking—she was short of seeing him in her dreams as well.
Ning Wan was very upset and even more uncomfortable, completely clueless about what the man wanted to do. Was he staying by her side like this because he had fallen for her?
