Tan Shuya stood there watching Xi Mohan and Ning Wan, originally stunned by Ning Wan’s words. Having been abroad for many years, she wasn’t very clear about the matter between Xi Mohan and Ning Wan, only having heard that Xi Mohan was with Ning Wan’s sister... Ning Yan’er.
She didn’t expect that what she would see now was the entanglent between Xi Mohan and Ning Wan.
As for Ning Wan, because of Lu Jingchen’s ex-wife Song Qiao, Tan Shuya had no good feelings towards her. Especially since she thought she had made so progress with Lu Jingchen tonight, yet Ning Wan suddenly brought out a child between Lu Jingchen and Song Qiao. How could that not make her angry?
Just as she was about to watch the drama unfold, she felt a cold gaze fall upon her. Following the gaze, she saw Xi Mohan coldly staring at her, and in the next second, she heard his voice, almost devoid of emotion, "Miss Tan, are you planning to stand here all night? I don’t think Jingchen will be back tonight. Miss Tan, you should just carry on with your own matters."
Though it was just an ordinary exchange, Tan Shuya could sense a threat in his tone.
A chill ran through Tan Shuya’s heart, but she wisely walked in her high heels toward the Lu Family Mansion.
Soon, only Ning Wan and Xi Mohan were left standing on the road, seemingly in a standoff.
However, the expression on the man’s face appeared indifferent, whereas Ning Wan’s face was full of anger and impatience.
Impatience...
The man also noticed Ning Wan’s impatient expression, and his face darkened as he took a step forward, looking down at her. His voice was sowhat hoarse yet calm, "Ning Wan, do you regret eting now?"
Ning Wan was montarily stunned, not quite processing his words.
Looking up at the man staring steadily at her, Ning Wan seed to finally co to her senses, straightening her back to regain so of her composure.
She rubbed her other hand, feeling the pain significantly lessen, and then looked at Xi Mohan, speaking carefully and clearly, "I know there’s no dicine for regret in this world, but if I had another chance, Xi Mohan, I would rather have never t you all those years ago, and even more so, never have fallen in love with you."
Xi Mohan’s body froze, with her words playing repeatedly in his mind: ’I know there’s no dicine for regret in this world, but if I had another chance, Xi Mohan, I would rather have never t you all those years ago, and even more so, never have fallen in love with you.’
After Ning Wan spoke, she said nothing more, just standing there, looking at him with a faint but distant smile.
When Xi Mohan’s assistant, Xu Linfeng, drove the car over, Ning Wan and Xi Mohan were still standing there, neither saying a word.
Ning Wan took just a glance to recognize that it was Xi Mohan’s car. Without thinking, she turned to leave.
Xu Linfeng parked directly beside Xi Mohan, his gaze falling on Ning Wan, who was walking away, hesitated for a mont before saying, "President, Miss Ning...should we give Miss Ning a ride back?"
Xi Mohan snapped back to reality and looked at Ning Wan’s retreating figure. Almost without hesitation, he strode after her, his long legs wrapped in a suit.
Ning Wan had planned to walk to the bus stop two kiloters away to catch a bus back. At this ti, buses were still running, so she didn’t worry about not having a ride ho.
She had barely walked a distance when she heard the roar of a car engine growing closer. She didn’t look back, but soon the man who caught up with her grabbed her arm, pulling her into a wide embrace.
The familiar masculine scent enveloped her. Even without turning around, Ning Wan knew the man behind her was Xi Mohan.
Instantly, she struggled with all her might, breaking free from Xi Mohan’s embrace, though he still held onto her arm, fueling her annoyance. She said coldly, "Xi Mohan, what are you doing?"
The man remained silent, as Xu Linfeng had already parked the car beside him. He imdiately half-dragged Ning Wan toward the vehicle.
Xu Linfeng hurriedly got out to help open the car door, through which Ning Wan was bundled unceremoniously.
Feeling suffocated by anger, Ning Wan glared at the man seated beside her, teeth almost clenched, speaking coldly, "Xi Mohan, what are you trying to do?"
Without changing expression, Xi Mohan instructed Xu Linfeng to drive, then said calmly to Ning Wan, "I’m taking you back."
Ning Wan, "... No need, I’ll call a taxi to co."
She said, preparing to take out her phone to call a taxi, but just as she pulled it out, the phone rang. Surprised, she looked at the screen to see that the call was from Shen Yi.
After Song Qiao left, she asked Shen Yi to take care of Ning Wan.
Ning Wan didn’t refuse, as Shen Yi was a nice person who had helped her a lot before. Even when she had left, Shen Yi was the one who helped her secretly, making sure Xi Mohan couldn’t find her.
If it weren’t for... losing that child, she might not have t Xi Mohan again.
Xi Mohan’s gaze also fell on Ning Wan’s phone screen, displaying the na ’Shen Yi’ in bold type, imdiately informing him who it was.
His face darkened just as Ning Wan reached to swipe the screen to answer. With a swift motion, Xi Mohan snatched the phone from her hand after another glance at the screen, lowered the window, and threw it out.
Ning Wan, "...", turned her head just in ti to see him throw her phone out the window.
Realizing what happened, she lunged to retrieve it, "Xi Mohan, are you crazy?"
However, her actions were slower than the man’s. The phone was already thrown out of the window, the sound of it hitting the ground distinctly audible.
Ning Wan stared dumbfounded at her phone being tossed away. Fury surged within her, and she shouted, "Xi Mohan, are you insane? That was my phone. Just because you’re rich doesn’t an you can do whatever you want!"
Xi Mohan, this lunatic!
Yet the man calmly grabbed her hand, trapping her in his embrace, his deep eyes fixed on her face, his voice hoarse and brooding. Instead of answering, he asked, "Do you like Shen Yi?"
