A Smackdown!
In a flurry of motion, Bai Ye had the four strong men in a bind. Ji Fu could not believe his eyes, the girl was beside him just moments ago.
Like a flash of lightning…
Splatters…
Red splatters…
Blood gushed from the knees and ankles of the four men, followed by a series of thuds…
The four tough-looking men fell to the ground and knelt before Ji Fu. There were no exceptions, even the two ninth-ranked practitioners fell to their knees.
The crowd was silent. What an unexpected turn of events!
Most of the spectators did not prehend what just happened. All they saw was the end result, four tough men crumpled on the ground.
“Wha— What just happened?”
“Did someone make a move?”
“It must be the old man. Is he a Mystic Warrior?”
“Whoa…”
All eyes fell onto Ji Fu, who looked equally confused.
The onlookers might not have seen what truly happened but Ji Fu had a clearer view.
Ji Fu witnessed Bai Ye rush forward with her new obsidian scalpel in hand. In a split second, her blade sliced through the flesh of the four men and severed their ligaments.
“Ah! My legs… My legs…” When the men realized what happened, it was too little too late. The cuts were accurate, aimed to disable the meridians.
“No! My legs… I can’t move them! No… No…” The grimness of the situation hit them as they made efforts to move their legs.
Meridians were essential to every practitioner, especially those that ran along the limbs. While one could heal a physical injury and regain normal movement, a severed meridian would hinder training and meditation, making cultivation impossible.
An old, scraggly man stepped forward from the crowd and pointed his palm at Bai Ye. There was no hesitation in his accusation. “What a cruel girl! You should be punished.”
His words were acpanied by something else.
A large serpent materialized from the center of his palm. The snake spirit sped toward Bai Ye with its jaws wide open.
“Mystic Warrior!” shouted someone in the crowd. Only a Mystic Warrior could materialize their Mystic Energy into an attack.
Ji Fu managed to react to the ining attack. “Bastard! How dare you!”
Bathed in a golden light, Ji Fu punched in the direction of the snake spirit. A lion’s outline roared toward the shadowy serpent.
“Another Mystic Warrior! It’s the old man from the countryside!” The crowd was exhilarated.
However…
The serpent picked up speed mid-air and charged ferociously toward Bai Ye.
“No—” Ji Fu’s eyes widened. He was ready to reveal his hidden power in order to protect Bai Ye.
Before he could unleash the energy within his body, he saw young Bai Ye in the air.
At the same moment…
The snake spirit brushed past her dangling feet. Bai Ye did not sustain any injuries.
The attack missed her pletely.
A collective gasp of disbelief was heard from the crowd. Eyes wide and mouths agape, they watched the levitating girl.
There was a green aura surrounding Bai Ye. She resembled a magnificent bird—an untouchable beauty in the air.
