Capítulo 1039: Chapter 1039: Bai Qi

“This place is indeed strange. After the stone door closed, I can’t feel anything, not even the life outside.” The voice of the Blade Soul grows heavy. As a “Spiritual Body” with cultivation spanning over a thousand years, it is supposed to be stronger than any cultivator. However, the Blade Soul is a “Spiritual Body” and cannot turn into a tangible form, unable to directly aid Ye Shikai in battle.

Even so, right now the Blade Soul cannot penetrate the Tomb Mountain to perceive anything beyond, highlighting the tomb’s formidable nature.

“What should we do then?” Ye Shikai asked.

“Don’t panic. The Ghost Soldiers let you in for a reason. You people of Huaxia always say, ‘since you are here, you might as well make yourself comfortable.'”

“Tch, that depends on the situation. Perhaps we’ve underestimated the difficulty of this mission.” Ye Shikai looked slightly downcast, “Whether on the Holy Mountain or in Atlantis, I’ve never been as helpless as I am now, my life utterly in soone else’s hands, not even having the ability to resist.”

“That is precisely the dread of you Huaxia folks, skilled at enduring.” The Blade Soul spoke solemnly.

“Are you comnting from the standpoint of a Western cultivator?” Ye Shikai quipped, considering the Blade Soul is the spirit of the Netherworld Blade, the weapon of the Main God, then the Blade Soul inherently belongs to the West, though it now exists within Ye Shikai, a Huaxia person.

“You could say that. I’ve seen countless battles between Eastern and Western cultivators. Almost every Huaxia cultivator has their trump card; using your words, it’s called ‘holding back,’ right? Including you, aren’t you like that too?”

“If I wasn’t like that, I’d have died a thousand eight hundred tis over.” Ye Shikai retorted self-deprecatingly, groping forward with his flashlight.

“Looks like you might be the first one here.” The Blade Soul abruptly changed the subject, with Ye Shikai surveying the surroundings, which indeed seed to confirm that, otherwise, it wouldn’t be so peaceful around.

“Indeed. I wonder if Bai Qi will give so treasure or inheritance.” Thinking of this, Ye Shikai was quite excited.

“I heard of Bai Qi’s na two thousand years ago. At that ti, his na spread widely in the West.” Speaking of Bai Qi, the usually composed Blade Soul seed a bit excited too, indicating Bai Qi caused quite a stir during his era.

“I thought the East and West were not very familiar with each other back then.” Ye Shikai said.

“Perhaps Bai Qi wasn’t famous among Western commoners then, but in the Underworld, he was surely known by all.” The Blade Soul explained, “You might not know, Bai Qi was not only a leader but also a cultivator back then.”

“Even if not told, I could guess as much, given Bai Qi’s martial prowess; how could he just be an ordinary man?” Ye Shikai replied.

“There seems to be a door up ahead.” Ye Shikai murmured, reaching his hand out to the copper door before him.

“Wait, there’s strong energy inside, very likely Bai Qi’s main burial chamber.” The Blade Soul suddenly yelled, startling Ye Shikai to quickly withdraw his hand.

“Blade Soul, we’ve co this far, there’s no backing out.” Ye Shikai lightly sighed. Honestly, if he knew Bai Qi’s relic would be this perilous, he might have discouraged Chen Yuxin from entering, but… there are no regrets in this world, and with so many Ghost Soldiers outside, if Ye Shikai backed out now, everyone would be in danger. Looking on the bright side, since Bai Qi’s relics are so treacherous, if he indeed obtains Bai Qi’s inheritance, his power would soar.

Besides, Ye Shikai has never been one to shy away from trouble. If he really ets misfortune, at least only he would…

“I underestimated you. Open it.”

Ye Shikai pushed hard, and the copper door opened easily.

“Ahhh.” A violent evil aura assaulted Ye Shikai’s brain, causing him to scream in pain, cold sweat pouring down, rolling on the ground pale as a sheet of paper.

“It hurts so much.” The pain was so severe that Ye Shikai couldn’t even voice it. In that instant, his body felt like it was being crushed, and after the intense pain, it felt as if thousands of ants were gnawing under his skin. Ye Shikai grasped his arm, trying to drive out those “ants” from his body.

“You brat, just talked about being strong, and now you’re down for the count.” Blade Soul, also receiving the blow from the evil aura, suffered more directly as a spiritual entity but still endured the agony to encourage Ye Shikai. This was the first test; if he couldn’t pass this, he wouldn’t have the chance to go further.

“Don’t underestimate , young master.” Ye Shikai endured the pain and got up from the ground, stepping forward.

The mont he stepped in, all the candles in the main burial chamber lit up, relieving much of Ye Shikai’s pain.

In the center was a coffin; this should be Bai Qi’s coffin.

Ye Shikai approached slowly, intending to touch the coffin.

“Young man, welco to this place.” Suddenly, a deep voice sounded behind Ye Shikai.

“Who are you?” Ye Shikai turned abruptly, instinctively retreating a few steps. Before him stood a man in armor, with a fierce, murderous expression that made him shiver.

“I am Bai Qi.”

“You haven’t died?” Ye Shikai exclaid in shock.

“Of course, I am dead, but the spirit still survives.” Bai Qi’s voice was extrely deep, slightly hoarse, yet it sounded like a beast’s roar.

This seed sowhat like Xiang Qi, Ye Shikai pondered, as these powerful figures had their ways to ensure their spirit never perished.

“I have been here for so long, you are the first one to enter. Tell your na.” Bai Qi spoke ominously, deserving his title as Human Slaughter, with his every move carrying a strong “presence,” akin to a school principal standing before middle school students, causing fear even if silent.

“Junior, Ye Shikai.”

“Hmm, you have so skill, otherwise you couldn’t have co this far.” Bai Qi nodded slightly, scrutinizing Ye Shikai.

“Senior, what do you an by this?” Ye Shikai curiously asked.

“Hold on, I still have sothing with you.” Bai Qi slowly raised his hand, and Ye Shikai instinctively put up a posture, thinking Bai Qi might strike, but what could he do? The difference in their power was too great; if Bai Qi really did make a move and Ye Shikai were completely unguarded, he likely couldn’t withstand three moves.

Bai Qi waved his hand, and astonishingly retrieved the copper sword from Ye Shikai’s Storage Ring, which landed gently in his hand.
