"No need, you go ahead, I’ll go sowhere else." Su Qingyu refused repeatedly, intending to head for the door, eager to leave imdiately.
"Qingyu, wait a mont." Ye Shikai stepped forward, blocking the exit, and Su Qingyu looked up, their eyes eting.
A subtle wave of emotion surfaced in their eyes. It had been a long ti since they last t. Ye Shikai felt a sudden pang in his heart, a slight ache in his nose. Previously, Chen Yuxin had tampered with Ye Shikai’s phone, blocking calls from Su Qingyu, so Ye Shikai wasn’t sure if Su Qingyu had tried to call him or send ssages over the past few days. After the Worm restored their phones, Ye Shikai was too embarrassed to reach out. If Su Qingyu had indeed called and found he had blocked her, she might harbor so resentnt.
"If this is the room you and... Miss Chen reserved, then I’ll leave." Su Qingyu continued, knowing that Ye Shikai wouldn’t dine alone; he must be here with Chen Yuxin. Given her current status, Su Qingyu indeed wasn’t in a position to et the two of them.
"Don’t." Ye Shikai quickly stopped her.
"It’s better if you stay here."
"Manager, put her al on my tab." Ye Shikai said coolly.
"This..." The manager hesitated, initially thinking the two sides would argue, but it seed they knew each other and were ironically being overly "modest."
"No need, I can afford a single al." Su Qingyu shook her head, refusing.
"Manager, please have your staff leave for now." Ye Shikai said coolly. The manager nodded repeatedly, gesturing for the waitstaff to leave and closing the door behind them.
"Qingyu, my phone had so issues before, so... other calls couldn’t get through." Ye Shikai hesitated, not revealing the sabotage by Chen Yuxin. He could only offer a "la" excuse.
"I see... that explains why I couldn’t get through." Su Qingyu replied lightly.
"Qingyu, did you need for sothing?"
"Actually, it’s nothing much... I just wanted to talk to you." Su Qingyu’s voice grew softer, trailing off until it was inaudible.
"Is that so? Then let’s chat now." Ye Shikai gestured, and the two of them sat down across a table. Su Qingyu seed very nervous, understanding her current status—Ye Shikai’s ex-wife. She feared being misunderstood by Chen Yuxin if she saw them together, sothing Su Qingyu wanted to avoid.
"Qingyu, how have you been these days?" After a long silence, Ye Shikai’s small talk finally broke the awkward tension.
"I’m doing well, the company is also thriving, and my stress... isn’t too bad." Su Qingyu seed tense, frequently glancing at the door, anxious that Chen Yuxin might burst in.

Their eyes t awkwardly. To think they once shared a bed as husband and wife, and now were as tense as strangers on a blind date.
"You and Miss Chen are married, how is that going?" Su Qingyu asked cautiously.
"I’m doing fine."
"Um, Miss Chen should be arriving soon, maybe I should leave first." Su Qingyu glanced at her watch, surprised that they had talked for half an hour already. Though there hadn’t been many words between them, it was clear neither Ye Shikai nor Su Qingyu wanted to end the conversation, only Chen Yuxin was in the mall, about to arrive.
"No need, you stay here and eat well. I’ll leave first." Ye Shikai left the private room, stealing another glance at Su Qingyu as he went.
"I’ll settle her bill, and don’t tell anyone about this." Ye Shikai reminded the restaurant manager before leaving.
"Mr. Ye, rest assured, I will handle it well." The manager nodded repeatedly, accepting Ye Shikai’s "inducent."
Just as he reached the restaurant, Ye Shikai ran into Chen Yuxin, who had just finished buying clothes, giving him a start. If he had left later, things would have been awkward.
"Kai, perfect timing, let’s hurry in to eat, the steak here is fantastic." Chen Yuxin said joyfully, pulling Ye Shikai towards the restaurant.
"Xin, hold on." Ye Shikai suddenly said, "I don’t feel like having Western food anymore, let’s go sowhere else."
"Well... okay, it’s up to you." Chen Yuxin said with suspicion, glancing at the restaurant, then back at Ye Shikai, feeling slightly disappointed.
"I planned this for a long ti, even got a chef from abroad to make a gourt al for you." Chen Yuxin muttered as they got into the Chen family’s luxury car, heading back to the mansion.
"Whatever you want, we can have it at ho. I’m suddenly feeling a bit tired today."
"Is that so? Are you feeling unwell, should I call a doctor?" Chen Yuxin grew worried.
"No need, Xin, I just want to go out for a bit, you go back first." Ye Shikai hesitated, his tone "restless."
"Kai, weren’t you just saying you were tired? Why do you want to go out now?" Chen Yuxin asked suspiciously. They knew each other well, and she quickly sensed that Ye Shikai was being dismissive, her tone changing. Rather than a query, it felt more like an interrogation.
"Well, to be honest, I’m feeling a bit suffocated, I just want so air." Ye Shikai continued, "I’ll be back before dinner."
"Kai, maybe it’s better not to. We’re going on our honeymoon soon, it’s best to stay ho. Besides, the situation outside is unstable; last ti in Chang’an, we offended the Tang family and the Gongsun family. I’m worried they might send people to sneak into Yanjing." Chen Yuxin flatly refused.
