"Alright, I’ll hold on a bit longer." Hearing this, Soul Destroyer’s desire to live was ignited again. Even if he were to die, he wanted to die outside.
"Don’t worry, you won’t die so easily." The Demoness quickly carried Soul Destroyer on her back. The dawn of hope was ahead, and they couldn’t waste ti here.
"Stop, who goes there?" Suddenly, a stern voice rang out ahead. The Demoness quickly looked up, spotting four or five figures ahead; her heart sank. Had their tracks been discovered? With the Demoness’s sudden movent, Soul Destroyer fell to the ground, gasping in pain.
"Demoness, Soul Destroyer, it’s you!"
Then, instead of enemies lying in ambush, they were t by Ji Qian and Selena coming to their aid.
"Sir, Selena, finally we’ve found you." The Demoness’s spirits soared, as if fate was favoring them. Had they t attackers, the two would have been in great danger. Fortunately, it was Ji Qian they encountered.
Ji Qian approached with her team, but was startled by Soul Destroyer’s appearance. Half of his face was blackened due to the poison, resembling black paint, quite frightening.
"What’s wrong with Soul Destroyer?" Ji Qian quickly asked, placing her fingers on his pulse. Due to the poison, Soul Destroyer’s pulse was weak and his heartbeat slow.
"Soul Destroyer has been poisoned by the Thousand Spider Poison; Inner Strength isn’t working to expel it." The Demoness was anxious, pinning all her hopes on Ji Qian. They had only heard of the Thousand Spider Poison from Zi Yun, and even she didn’t possess it, showing how potent and rare it was. The Demoness didn’t expect Ji Qian to completely dispel the poison, but hoped she could delay its onset long enough to return to Yanjing.
"Let take a look." Ji Qian stepped forward to examine Soul Destroyer. The poison, traveling through his blood, was beginning to invade his internal organs. If it reached his heart, not even a deity could save him.
Ti was of the essence. Ji Qian used her Inner Strength, attempting to use the energy of the gem-adorned Magic Wand to expel the poison. Ji Qian’s energy was yin, and the Moon God Temple’s Divine Artifact energy was exceedingly gentle, counteracting the violent poison of the Thousand Spider Poison. The gem’s special energy was a holy antidote. Ji Qian made a small cut on Soul Destroyer’s arm; black blood flowed from the wound, and Selena rinsed it off with water from her bag.

"I’ve temporarily stabilized his condition, but cannot remove the poison; we need to get him back to Yanjing quickly." Ji Qian slowly retracted her Inner Strength, feeling a heat wave surge through her Dantian. She hadn’t expected the Thousand Spider Poison to be so potent, consuming so much Inner Strength.
"Alright, let’s get moving." The Demoness nodded. With the group back together and the exit ahead, if they made haste, they could leave Bai Mountain by nightfall. It was a sha, though, about the Hidden Guard and Moon Guards that accompanied them; the signal flare had been sent long ago, but they hadn’t co, likely facing dire straits.

Several Moon Guards stepped forward, helping Soul Destroyer up, as Ji Qian and Selena led the way to scout ahead. The Demoness stayed at the rear, occasionally glancing at Soul Destroyer.
"Do you think you can leave so easily? That’s not quite right," a cold female voice suddenly reverberated from above the valley they entered, causing everyone to turn sharply. Heads popped up along the valley sides, pointing guns at them. A black-clad woman descended slowly from above, accompanied by several attendants. Everyone sensed impending danger; a valley was always a perfect spot for an ambush. Moreover, Ji Qian’s group was now too small. With dozens of rifles aid at them, even if she managed to escape, others would not.
"Demoness, take everyone and retreat with Soul Destroyer," Ji Qian commanded coldly, fearing being overheard. Without caves nearby, forcing through was impossible. It seed the path behind wasn’t blocked; if they retreated quickly, they might have a chance.
"Alright, sir." The Demoness nodded, keeping her eyes on Soul Destroyer, unable to believe they had just escaped Death God’s grip yet found themselves in another perilous situation.
"Wait for my signal, then run."
Ji Qian took a few steps forward, her eyes fixed on the black-clad woman. The woman’s face was obscured, so Ji Qian couldn’t recognize her.
"Who exactly are you, and why are you threatening us with death?" Ji Qian never considered begging for rcy or had any hope of being spared. She knew better than to ask the strong "why." However, she hoped to buy so ti, at least to find a flaw.
"Miss Ji, I truly do not wish to kill you, but you’ve co to a place you shouldn’t have, so you can never return alive." The black-clad woman spoke coldly, "Miss Ji, do you have anything else to say?"
But who would do such a thing?
"Of course, we can talk about collaboration. Just give a chance to live, how about it?" Ji Qian thought quickly, signaling to Selena behind her.
"I am the eldest daughter of the Ji Family. Partnering with you ans gaining Ji Family’s backing; surely, you wouldn’t refuse that, right?" Ji Qian pretended to yield, both buying ti and misleading the opponent.
"Ha ha, I never thought the esteed Miss Ji would act this way at death’s door." The black-clad woman sneered, while the Demoness’s expression darkened. Even knowing it was a "feigned surrender," she felt anger watching Ji Qian be insulted.
"Better to live dishonorably than die honorably, don’t you think?" Ji Qian continued.
"Miss Ji, I do admire you, but... you truly cannot survive." The black-clad woman’s eyes flickered with coldness.
"Everyone, retreat!" At that mont, Ji Qian suddenly shouted, and the group, ready and waiting, imdiately fled backward.
"Damn it, open fire!" The black-clad woman shouted as she realized she had been deceived.
"Moon God Spell—Falling Stars." Ji Qian swung the Magic Wand, sending streaks of silver light shooting straight at the cliff.
