Capítulo 1171: Chapter 1171: Gathering Clues
No matter if it’s Yanjing or East Sea, they’re major cities in Huaxia. To find soone in these places, sheer numbers aren’t enough; accurate intelligence is needed. As for this, it’s not sothing Ye Shikai can accomplish. Worm is a computer hacker and also an expert at intelligence gathering. In the internet age, traces can be left online, and Worm can collect and analyze these clues to obtain objective and accurate intelligence. In fact, when it cos to intelligence gathering in Yanjing, no one can compare to Ji Yu; however, Ye Shikai has never hoped that girl would help him.
“Leave the intelligence work to Worm and Short-nosed Crocodile. It shouldn’t be difficult to find two people, if… they haven’t t any accident.” Ye Shikai sighed and stood up, not knowing how Ghost is doing right now.
East Sea Hospital.
“Why are you here again?” The nurse at the hospital’s front desk glanced up, sowhat impatient.
“Well, Miss Nurse, I really have an urgent matter, please just help out.” Ye Shikai tried to say kind words. It seed that this nurse is also probably a good friend of Gu Xin. If they’ve gone traveling, she might know sothing.
“To be honest, I don’t know where the two of them went. This morning, I received a text from Gu Xin saying she and Gu Li were going on a trip, asking to help with their leave. But now the phone won’t connect, texts aren’t replied to. I guess they don’t want to be disturbed.” The nurse seed irritated by Ye Shikai’s “persistence”, stood up, and said directly.
“Are you sure it was her who sent the signal?”
“It was her phone number for sure, I have it noted here.”
“Then… did she talk to you directly?”
“Well, no.” The nurse’s eyes flashed a hint of doubt, shaking her head.
“Alright, sorry to trouble you.” Ye Shikai nodded in thanks and left, went to the hospital supermarket, bought a bowl of instant noodles, found a seat, eating while thinking about the events of the last few days.
If it’s true as the nurse said, contact was lost with Ghost and Gu Xin starting last night. Since then, they haven’t shown themselves.
“Hey, did you hear? Last night’s concert, Li and Gu Xin went up on stage and sang with the Rose Band.” Suddenly, two voices laughingly pulled him back to reality. Turning around, he saw two other nurses, probably grabbing a bite during their break.
However, Ye Shikai was focused on the conversation content between the two won. They just ntioned “Ghost and Gu Xin”; could it be they know any clues? Curiosity piqued, Ye Shikai left the unfinished instant noodles on the table and approached, sitting opposite the two won.
“Uh… do you know anything about Gu Li and Gu Xin?” Ye Shikai asked sowhat awkwardly. Approaching like this had the semblance of flirting. The two nurses turned their heads, looking rather wary as if facing a creeper.
“Who are you?” One of them asked, looking quite vigilant.
“I haven’t introduced myself yet. My na is Ye Shikai; I’m a friend of theirs. But now I can’t find them, so I’m here to ask you.” Ye Shikai explained to the two, dispelling their wariness.
“Oh, that’s why. Yes, we can’t reach them either. Heard they went traveling and don’t want to be disturbed, hence turned off their phones.” One nurse nodded.
“You just ntioned they went to a concert yesterday, how about the Rose…”
“Rose Band.”
“Yes, yes, Rose Band.” Ye Shikai quickly responded, not being a fan, naturally ignorant of popular bands.
“Last night, Rose Band held a concert at East Sea Stadium. Heard the audience numbered tens of thousands, didn’t you know?”
“Sorry, I don’t really… watch concerts often, so…” Ye Shikai laughed awkwardly. However, what they were focused on wasn’t the concert.
“They attended the concert yesterday. Heard Li lined up for tickets. Having such a boyfriend must be blissful. Also, he’s supposedly really good at fighting, last ti drove off more than a dozen thugs on his own, really cool…”
“Ahem.” Ye Shikai’s face darkened, gently coughing twice. These two won… are a bit too infatuated with him.
“Sorry, please continue.” The two nurses finally realized their awkwardness, their faces quickly turning red.
“Did both of them actually attend the concert?” Ye Shikai asked curiously.
“Yes, and Lii even invited both of them on stage for a duet. Lucky, being drawn from a pool of tens of thousands.”
“Uh, what do you an?” Ye Shikai was confused, unclear about what they were talking about.
“It’s the concert’s interactive segnt, drawing a lucky audience. Gu Li was picked, but passed it on to Gu Xin.”
“I see.” Ye Shikai nodded, realizing they attended a concert last night. Hearing this, at least it suggested the two were still “safe” that evening.
“After the concert, did they reach out to you?” Ye Shikai asked, his tone quickening.
“Well… they haven’t sent any ssages since it ended.”
“Alright, thank you. I’ll head out first.” Ye Shikai’s expression turned instantly dispirited; a hard-earned clue… yet again severed. He left the hospital, dialing a phone number.
“Hey, Boss, anything going on?” Worm’s voice ca through the phone.
“Are you still investigating?”
“Yeah, tracking Ghost and Gu Xin’s whereabouts is really tough. East Sea has over twenty million people; rest easy, though—I’m working hard.” Worm’s tone sounded sowhat weary, understandably so given the draining nature of data gathering.
“Let give you a lead: last night, a concert was held at East Sea Stadium, and Gu Xin went on stage for a duet with the band.” Ye Shikai recounted the earlier events to Worm.
“Got it; with this lead, I can narrow the search area.” Worm imdiately perked up, suggesting tracking their last appearance through the stadium’s caras should be possible.
“Also, I faced an assassination attempt here; the opponents even had Death Soldiers.”
“What! Another assassination; Boss, just how many enemies do you have? Everywhere you go, soone is out to get you.” Worm exclaid in shock upon hearing this news.
