Chapter 1181: Chapter 1181: Seeking Allies
“I have my own thods,” Ghost replied coldly, his hand stroking the woman in his arms, a wave of guilt sweeping over his heart. Ever since he began dating Gu Xin, she had been implicated several tis, and this ti she had been kidnapped.
The guards beside them thought Ghost intended to forcibly take Gu Xin away and rushed over to block his retreat.
“Stop.” Lii ordered sharply, signaling to everyone not to take action.
“Mr. Gu, why are you here? Have you forgotten our agreent?” Lii questioned. She also understood that Ghost was not here to forcibly take Gu Xin away; otherwise, he would have chosen to sneak in rather than enter so openly.
“I’ll handle all other matters, but first I need to ensure her safety,” Ghost retorted coldly. Initially, when Gu Xin was kidnapped, Ghost was coerced, creating an unequal relationship between them and Lii. But now, Ghost wanted to rescue Gu Xin and break free from Lii’s control. The first step was to establish an “equal relationship” with Lii, at least ensuring that Ghost could know Gu Xin’s location and visit her at any ti.
“I can guarantee Lady Gu’s safety.”
“It’s you I don’t trust,” Ghost retorted directly, showing no regard for Lii’s feelings.
“What exactly do you want?”
“I told you, I’m just here to see her,” Ghost said in a cold voice, then turned his gaze to Gu Xin, his eyes revealing tenderness. Given his current nature, he would resort to a massacre to take Gu Xin out. Unfortunately, he couldn’t ensure her absolute safety. If he acted rashly, Lii would not hold back, and if Gu Xin got hurt, he wouldn’t know how to face it.
“Xin’er, are you alright here?”
“Don’t worry, they wouldn’t dare do anything to ,” Gu Xin said, wiping away her tears. Indeed, Lii needed to use Gu Xin to coerce Ghost, so they wouldn’t dare mistreat her. They served her with fine clothes and good food; apart from freedom, Gu Xin could have anything she wanted.
“Alright, in that case, you’ll stay here. How about that, Miss Lii? Do you have any objections?” Ghost turned and said, making it clear that he wanted to prevent Lii from moving Gu Xin to another location. In other words, Ghost could really co and go as he pleased in the future.
“As long as you stick to the terms of our agreent, I won’t object,” Lii gritted her teeth and compromised. She still didn’t know how Ghost found this place. If they moved Gu Xin, Ghost might sneak in and rescue her next ti, leaving Lii with nothing.
“That’s good.” With his goal achieved, Ghost was content to stop there. He was, after all, weak and alone, and it was hard for him to ensure Gu Xin’s rescue could proceed smoothly. Lii’s strength was unfathomable, and she seed skilled in illusion techniques, which Ghost had experienced deeply in the gymnasium that night. Lii also had so many subordinates, there was no way he could take on all of them and protect Gu Xin at the sa ti.
If only he had so help, they could at least hold off so enemies, making it easier to rescue Gu Xin amidst the chaos. But where could he get so many helpers, and they all needed to be skilled practitioners?
Unless… a thought suddenly flashed in Ghost’s mind.
“Alright then, Mr. Gu, are you satisfied now?”
“Fine, I’ll honor our previous agreent. But if you dare lay a finger on her,” Ghost’s voice beca dangerously low, his eyes like a wild wolf’s, exuding a nacing killing intent as he glanced at everyone present.
“I want you all dead.”
…………………
In a villa in the mountains of the East Sea.
After reaching an agreent with Zheng Ji, Ye Shikai and the mbers of the Netherworld Palace moved from the hotel to this mountain villa. It wasn’t a temporary stay; they had the villa transferred to them. Of course, Zheng Ji didn’t care about the money. The place was remote and rarely visited, suitable for security and patrols.
“Keep your eyes open and stay alert,” Soul Destroyer said as he walked onto the balcony, addressing two hidden guards. Although they could spot anyone nearby from a distance, they needed to remain vigilant.
“Yes, Lord.”
“Honestly, I don’t know what Lord Ghost is thinking, moving to such a remote place. Here… is it haunted?” Soul Destroyer muttered to himself.
“What, didn’t think you’d be afraid of ghosts?” Suddenly, a soft voice sounded, and Demoness suddenly appeared behind him.
“Oh my god, you must be part cat; you walk without making a sound,” Soul Destroyer exclaid in fright.
“Pfft, just ca to see you.”
“Wait, what’s that?” Before Demoness could finish, Soul Destroyer’s shout interrupted her. Following his pointing finger, they saw a shadow in the forest outside the villa. Although it was unclear, it was obviously a standing shadow.
“Oh no, is it really a ghost?” Even Demoness couldn’t help but scream. Could there be a Sasquatch around here?
“Spotlight,” Soul Destroyer regained his composure and ordered loudly. Two hidden guards imdiately set up a high-power spotlight and pointed it at the shadow.
“That’s…”
“A person.”
“Who are you? Don’t move,” Soul Destroyer shouted. The guards downstairs also noticed the commotion and rushed over, surrounding the person.
“Get back.” Soul Destroyer pushed aside the guards, stepping forward to examine the newcor carefully.
“You are…”
The newcor had their head down, seeming uncomfortable with the bright light. Under Soul Destroyer’s urging, they slowly raised their head, and once everyone saw the face, they couldn’t help but take a step back in surprise.
“Ghost.”
“How could it be Lord Ghost?”
Everyone exchanged looks, unable to believe their eyes. The guards present were all old mbers of the Netherworld Palace, naturally familiar with Ghost. Many had even served under him.
“Ghost, you’ve finally co. Have you… recovered your mory?” Soul Destroyer couldn’t help but feel a wave of joy. If Ghost could make his way here, he might have regained his mory. Otherwise, why would he co to this remote mountain?
“I don’t know you.”
That one sentence cooled the hearts of everyone present.
So, he was still amnesiac.
“Regardless, let’s go inside first,” Demoness broke the awkward silence.
“Indeed, the wind is strong outside,” Soul Destroyer echoed repeatedly.
“No need. I just ca to discuss cooperation with you. Whether you agree or not is up to you. Once I’m done talking, I’ll leave,” Ghost spoke calmly.
“Co… cooperation? What kind of cooperation?”
