Chapter 1219: Chapter 1219: mory Recovery
“Is there anything else you need?” Gu Xin said coldly.
“Xin’er, you should step out for a mont.” Ghost gestured to Gu Xin to stay calm, pretending to ask her to go buy food.
Initially, Ye Shikai hoped that the explosion would trigger Ghost’s mories. As the investigation deepened, the truth about Ghost’s amnesia and the total annihilation of the Moon Guards was uncovered. Back then, Ye Shikai suspected that the power of the gas canister explosion wasn’t enough to flatten an entire rental room. Upon investigation, traces of powerful explosives were found at the scene, so the situation could be roughly deduced.
The hospital explosion this ti, with Ghost seeing the old scene, might stimulate nerves and restore mories. However, it seems now that this was just Ye Shikai’s wishful thinking. The pill made from Bai Mountain snow lotus was still kept in Ye Shikai’s Storage Ring. Perhaps, as that fortune teller Dugu Tianke said, everything is fate. Ghost has his own destiny, and Gu Xin is destined to be soone he encounters in his life.
“This hospital crisis clearly targeted Xin’er.” After a long silence, Ghost finally spoke to break the awkward atmosphere.
“Correct, that much is obvious.” Ye Shikai largely understood the situation. The two bombs hidden in the hospital were both powerful explosives. The one tied to Gu Xin was less powerful, but the one hidden in the ceiling was a real killer.
Gu Xin was called to Room 601 by a mysterious person and had a balance bomb installed. It was less a targeting of Gu Xin and more of Ghost. Firstly, amidst so many nurses in the hospital, Gu Xin was specially chosen. It was obviously deliberate because Ghost’s relationship with Gu Xin was known to the whole hospital. If Gu Xin was in danger, Ghost would definitely act selflessly. Tying the bomb to Gu Xin was far more effective than tying it to Ghost himself. Secondly, Gu Xin was just a small nurse, but Ghost, although renad Gu Li, would expose his “Netherworld Palace second-in-command” status upon any investigation. He was a “big fish”.
Only Boss Xing, Lii, or Xue Ming would do this. They were arch-enemies of the Netherworld Palace. With no Hidden Guard protection around Ghost and no awareness of caution, it was the perfect ti to strike.
The two n lit a cigarette each, chatting idly. After going through this incident, although Ghost was thrilled to have survived, he also worried about the future. This ti, he saved Gu Xin, but what about next ti? Within a month, Gu Xin was kidnapped once because of him, and this ti, a bomb was strapped to her.
The next ti, it might be a direct lethal attack.
Ghost didn’t dare imagine the day when he might hear the news that Gu Xin died an untily death. He would definitely break down.
Therefore, to ensure both of their safety, the only way is to get to the bottom of everything or even eradicate the threats.
“Alright, you should go now. Rest and recover well.” Ye Shikai suddenly stood up and walked towards the door.
“Mr. Ye, please wait a mont.” Suddenly, Ghost called out to Ye Shikai.
“Do you need sothing else?”
“I heard that there was a pill made from Bai Mountain snow lotus last ti. I wonder if you still have any left.”
Half an hour later.
“Li, I’ve made your favorite braised pork ribs.” When Gu Xin returned, the room only had Ghost left. Ye Shikai seed to have left.
“Xin’er, just put the food aside.” Ghost looked up, his eyes seed sowhat different than usual.
“What’s wrong, are you feeling unwell?” Gu Xin sensed sothing unusual about Ghost and stepped forward to help him up from the bed.
“Don’t worry, I’m fine. I just need so rest.” Ghost shook his head, stood up from the bed, untied the bandage knots, and started unwrapping the bandages right in front of Gu Xin.
“What are you doing? The bandages just got applied, and you’re already taking them off.” Gu Xin quickly stopped him.
“Don’t worry, I’m fine.” Ghost shook his head. Once the bandages were removed, Gu Xin was amazed to find that Ghost’s back, once covered in scars, had already healed significantly, so smaller scars had completely disappeared.
“This ointnt is really miraculous.” Gu Xin finally understood Ye Shikai’s goodwill. The ointnt he provided truly had an incredible effect.
“Xin’er, let’s get discharged later. These are minor wounds. We can heal just as well at ho.” Ghost said calmly.
“Oh, alright. But the hospital needs to be renovated anyway, so it ans we’ll be on vacation for a while.”
“Then let’s go on a good trip.”
……………………………
East Sea, Netherworld Palace Base.
“What? Ghost has regained his mory?” Everyone exclaid, even the usually composed Ji Qian looked at Ye Shikai in shock.
“That’s right, he took the Bai Mountain snow lotus pill and has regained his mory.” Ye Shikai appeared calm, nodding slightly.
“That’s… wonderful.” Demoness exclaid excitedly, “Now we have everyone together.” Ji Qian was also filled with relief after hearing that. The “Brain” of Netherworld Palace was back, and everyone’s pressure was instantly reduced. Most importantly, Ghost was absolutely loyal to Ye Shikai, the power of Netherworld Palace wouldn’t fall into other hands. Moreover, Ji Qian had personally led people to Bai Mountain, almost risking their lives to obtain the Bai Mountain snow lotus. It seed like a waste of effort, but now, it turns out it wasn’t in vain.
“But… where is he?” Soul Destroyer curiously asked; everyone suddenly beca silent. Yes, where did he go? If Ghost regained his mory, he should be excitedly embracing everyone, right?
“What exactly happened? Did he regain his mory or not?” Seeing Ye Shikai not responding, Ji Qian slowly sat by his side and asked.
“He regained his mory, but it doesn’t an the mories with Gu Xin are gone.” Ye Shikai sighed, yes, a person who regains his mory but retains his new mories can only imagine what Ghost would feel when he recalls everything from before and rembers his life with Gu Xin.
His love for Gu Xin had already been deeply ingrained. Yet, he now also recalled that he was the “Brain” of the Netherworld Palace and had to fight alongside his brothers. This conflicting, contradictory experience would be difficult for him to accept.
“What do you an by that?” Ji Qian continued to ask.
“I gave him the choice. If he wants to co back, he’s always welco. If he doesn’t want to return and wants to live peacefully with Gu Xin, I won’t interfere.”
