Capítulo 1234: Chapter 1234: Ji Qian’s Anger
“Kai, why don’t you eat sothing first?” Chen Yuxin watched Ye Shikai’s sowhat weakened steps, feeling a hint of worry. It seed she had indeed gone too far this ti; Chen Yuxin didn’t want to hurt him, but in a mont of anger, she made a mistake.
“It’s fine, you don’t need to worry about it.” Ye Shikai shook his head. After lying in bed for many days, he needed so ti to adjust, though his physical weakness was real. These days, Ye Shikai had been sulking almost daily with Chen Yuxin, and hardly ate any als.
“Stay here, I’ll go talk to them.” Ye Shikai gestured for Chen Yuxin not to follow. This was between the Netherworld Palace and him; Chen Yuxin’s involvent would only complicate matters and make the situation harder to handle, not to ntion that those few people at the Chen family’s doorstep probably had wanted to act violently for a while.
Chen Yuxin nodded slightly in agreent and returned to her room alone. Ye Shikai sighed deeply and walked straight out the door.
“What is everyone gathered here for?”
“Boss.”
“Boss.”
“Sir.”
Ye Shikai looked at each familiar face, surprised that even Ghost had co, and Nightmare—they were all here. Finally, his gaze landed on Ji Qian.
“Qian, you’ve co too.” Ye Shikai felt sowhat comforted and guilty; whenever there was trouble, Ji Qian was always the first to step up and help him.
But this ti was special, and Ye Shikai wasn’t sure if Ji Qian rushing over with the White Mist Army was a good thing. Ji Qian’s presence here, if a conflict with the Chen family arose, Ji Tao would surely find out, and then how would Ji Qian face it?
“Are you okay?” Ji Qian’s eyes turned red upon seeing Ye Shikai, and tears faintly welled up. She quickly noticed Ye Shikai’s unusual state; his face’s haggardness was undeniable. Ji Qian didn’t know what Ye Shikai had gone through these days, but clearly, Ye Shikai had not been well. Having known each other for a long ti, they understood each other deeply; Ji Qian could sense that Ye Shikai felt very low and slumped—not just in expression, but all over, as if every pore emitted a sense of gloom.
“Don’t worry, I’m fine.” Ye Shikai walked out the door, comforting everyone.
“Boss, what on earth happened, why did communication break down?” Soul Destroyer stepped forward to ask. He wanted a clear explanation; even a regular person would be suspicious of a phone being unreachable for two or three days.
“Rest assured, I’m fine now; you don’t need to worry.” Ye Shikai shook his head and turned to look at Ghost.
“I didn’t expect you to co too.”
“Boss, although I want to stay in the East Sea and live with Xin’er, if you were in trouble and I didn’t co, that’d be letting down the Netherworld Palace.” Ghost’s words were certainly comforting; after regaining his mory, Ghost’s heart was still with the Netherworld Palace.
“Sir, we couldn’t contact you, and the Netherworld Empress’s attitude is ambiguous. Are you… really okay?” Nightmare still felt uneasy, and not just him—everyone present was no fool. Though Ye Shikai had said so, they still felt skeptical.
“Of course, it’s just that my spirits aren’t too good recently.” Ye Shikai waved his hand, signaling everyone to disperse.
“What, you don’t understand my orders?” Ye Shikai sternly rebuked, repeating the phrase before the crowd finally dispersed.
“Nightmare, I’m entrusting the Netherworld King Order to you; you must safeguard it well.” As everyone was leaving, Ye Shikai suddenly called to Nightmare and instructed in a low voice.
“Don’t worry, sir, take care of yourself too.” Nightmare seed to understand sothing from Ye Shikai’s subtle gaze but chose not to voice it. Like everyone else, he turned and left.
“Qian, you better leave quickly; I think your father will find out soon.” Ye Shikai knew the Ji Family must have gotten wind of it; Chen Ligong was Ji Tao’s trusted aide, and if even he had co out, Ji Tao couldn’t possibly be unaware. It might not be long before he arrives personally.
“If anything happens, call .” Ji Qian took out a phone from her pocket and forcibly handed it to Ye Shikai. Initially, he wanted to refuse, but her tough insistence led to the phone ending up in his hand.
“Wait a minute, what about your Inner Strength?” Suddenly, Ji Qian’s expression changed dramatically, her piercing gaze landing on his face.
It’s said that when experts spar, they only need a mont. Just now, when Ji Qian shook hands with Ye Shikai, she noticed the anomaly within him. If their Inner Strengths had been comparable or nearly equal, there would be no feeling—much like two equally strong people arm-wrestling. But in the handshake, Ji Qian felt a void within Ye Shikai, as if it was the sa feeling as shaking hands with a servant. In other words, Ye Shikai was now no different from an ordinary person.
“What are you talking about?” Ye Shikai withdrew his hand anxiously, not wanting Ji Qian to discover that his Dantian had been destroyed. He wished to leave it at that—the destruction of a Dantian was sothing he had never heard of being redied. This was no ordinary organ; a cultivator’s Inner Strength was concentrated there. When the Dantian is destroyed, losing Inner Strength and martial prowess is already a good outco. So may even go berserk or die bleeding from all seven orifices. Chen Yuxin had done this, and he was, of course, very angry. But now, being angry was pointless—perhaps his path of cultivation had ended.
“What exactly did Chen Yuxin do to you?” Ji Qian demanded.
“I told you, it’s nothing.” Ye Shikai retreated several steps, keeping Ji Qian from approaching.
“You…”
“Miss Ji, this is the Chen family’s residence; please halt.” Chen Ruoya blocked her path.
“Dear son-in-law, the Family Head is still inside waiting for you; I’ll have soone take you in first.” Chen Ruoya turned her head, gesturing for so guards to escort Ye Shikai inside.
“Wait, Chen Ruoya.” Ji Qian hadn’t planned to be brushed off, stepping forward and barging in, blocking Chen Ruoya’s path; the reacting guards imdiately encircled her.
“Explain this clearly, what on earth is going on.” Ji Qian asked coldly.
“Miss Ji, please don’t be agitated; this is a private matter between the Family Head and the son-in-law. If you want to know, you can ask them directly, but presently, the Family Head is unwell, I’m afraid she won’t see you.” Chen Ruoya made a ‘please’ gesture, indicating for Ji Qian to leave.
“You… go back and tell your Family Head that at eight o’clock tonight, I’ll be waiting for her at the Crown Hotel.”
