A small wooden box, surprisingly heavy, requiring two n to carry it. Ye Shikai couldn’t help but be curious, though he had so guesses in his mind.
"Mr. Ye, please go ahead." Martin gestured to open it. Ye Shikai reached out and slowly opened the wooden box. With just a small opening, he could already see the "contents" inside.
Goodness, it was filled with gold bars, each one heavily weighing down. This was indeed "sufficient sincerity."
Ye Shikai closed the lid again, giving Martin a sly smile. Similarly, Martin grinned back, just a glance, a smile, and both understood each other’s thoughts.
Ye Shikai was stunned by Martin’s "offer." So many gold bars, at the least a few million, a sum many may never earn in a lifeti. Yet Martin, just for an outsider, offered such a generous gift. Clearly, Martin was determined to recruit Ye Shikai. Frankly, Ye Shikai considered himself just a "capable fighter" without his Inner Strength, but for so reason, Martin seed particularly interested in him.
If he accepted these gold bars, Ye Shikai would be truly "rich." However, he didn’t want to be a "bad guy," and certain terms had to be set.
Ye Shikai laid out all his conditions. He wouldn’t partake in anything morally corrupt, but if Martin had difficulties, he would undoubtedly offer his full support.
"Ye, I can agree to your terms. In fact, I currently have a troubleso issue requiring your help." Martin nodded, agreeing to Ye Shikai’s terms, but then shifted his focus.
Sothing even Martin considered troubleso couldn’t be simple. At least with Ye Shikai’s current capabilities and resources, it wouldn’t be easy, perhaps even life-threatening.
"If there’s any issue, just speak up." Ye Shikai asked directly.
"This isn’t the place to talk. How about I send soone to pick you up tomorrow morning?" Martin waved, glancing around the crowded and bustling cafe.
"Alright, I’ll be in the underground passage. Your n know the place." Ye Shikai nodded in agreent.
"How can that be? You’re my friend now; how can you stay in a tunnel?" Martin was a bit shocked.
"Haha, indeed. Before, I had no money and stayed in tunnels. Now it’s different." Ye Shikai suddenly laughed, picking up the wooden box.
"Perhaps I should have my n take you to a hotel. If I’m not mistaken, you probably don’t have a passport with you, right?" Martin said unexpectedly. It was true; when Chen Yuxin forcibly brought Ye Shikai to North Arica, he hadn’t taken anything. After leaving the God King Hall, he was "empty-handed." In the city, without docuntation, he had to avoid the police. Otherwise, if caught, Zeus might learn his whereabouts. Without docunts, he couldn’t stay in a hotel either.
"Thank you very much then."
.......................................
"Miss Chen, welco to the God King Hall." anwhile, in Zeus’s God King Hall, a guest arrived. Chen Yuxin’s arrival genuinely surprised both him and Aphrodite.
Chen Yuxin remained silent. Ye Shikai’s disappearance was largely Zeus’s responsibility, so she looked at him with disdain. Zeus cherished appearances, and usually, being looked down upon would irk him. However, the situation was different now, and the woman before him was not ordinary.
"Last ti was an accident. Though Hades is missing, I’ve already sent people to search for him. I’m sure there will be news soon." Zeus remarked awkwardly, quickly changing the topic.
"Miss Chen has co from afar. How about I arrange a banquet to properly entertain you?" Aphrodite also suggested.
"It’s alright; I’m not here for any particular reason. I just want to invite Mr. Zeus to see sothing with ." Chen Yuxin spoke calmly. Zeus and Aphrodite were curious about what was so important that Chen Yuxin wanted them to see.
"Miss Chen, what is it?"
"Well, you’ll know once Mr. Zeus cos along." Chen Yuxin pretended to be mysterious, leaving the two baffled.
"Alright, we’ll prepare so personnel right away."
"Sorry, this item can only be seen by Mr. Zeus himself." Chen Yuxin retorted bluntly, showing no regard for Aphrodite.
"This..."
"Haha, in that case, I’ll go alone. You should stay in the hall." Zeus said with a smile, easing the awkward atmosphere.
"The car is parked outside, please." Chen Yuxin pointed outside the hall.
"What’s Chen Yuxin up to?" After Zeus left, Aphrodite asked coldly, her eyes like those of a venomous snake, full of suspicion and alertness.
Twenty minutes later.
Zeus, with several guards, boarded Chen Yuxin’s car. From the route, it led towards a forest outside the God King Hall. As the car passed by the abandoned encampnt of the Three Temples, Zeus couldn’t help but glance a few more tis, a vague sense of foreboding in his heart.
After half an hour, the car reached deep into the mountains. Zeus looked ahead, shock suddenly appearing on his face. There, right in front of the car, was another encampnt. How could there be a camp deep in the mountains?
"Miss Chen, what does this an?" Zeus curiously asked, a hint of panic on his face.
"A few days ago, my people discovered this encampnt, likely left by the Main God Temple. There’s no one inside, but there are so docunts, so I specifically invited Mr. Zeus to take a look." Chen Yuxin explained.
"I see; thank you, Miss Chen. It seems our cooperation is fruitful." Zeus nodded in appreciation, descending from the car with the guards, confirming it was indeed a Three Temples encampnt, with much "trash" left around, like al boxes and water bottles. The surroundings were eerily quiet.
"How did Miss Chen discover this place?" Zeus glanced around. The camp was nestled in a valley, with another path leading into a dense forest, well concealed. Even if a plane were to scout and take photos from above, it would be hard to detect its presence.
"Just sheer luck. I happened to encounter it that day. This is God King Hall’s territory. I think soone set up camp here with ill intentions towards Mr. Zeus."
"Thank you for your concern, Miss Chen. I genuinely appreciate it." Zeus entered the tent in the camp, finding many docunts still there, with papers strewn across the tables. He touched a railing, discovering a layer of dust on it.
