"Hey, don’t go." Ye Shikai wanted to stop Avril, but he was one step too late. She had already reached the dance floor. Before coming here, Ye Shikai had seen Steven’s photo. He was a rough man with a huge figure, supposedly over two ters tall, standing out in the crowd like a "crane among chickens," easily noticeable at a glance.
Ye Shikai scanned the area around the dance floor, and sure enough, in the center, Steven was standing there, chatting and dancing with a group of beauties. As expected, he had co. Ye Shikai was aware of Avril’s assassination skills; today, Steven was destined to die here. But the crucial thing was... how would they get out.
Ye Shikai was on the second floor, watching Avril step by step with a wine glass in hand. It seed she was about to take action for real. Seeing this made him sowhat anxious as they had no preparations at all. Ye Shikai glanced at the entrance; several burly n in black stood there, looking vigilant, appearing as if they were facing a formidable enemy, which made things a bit difficult.
Ye Shikai looked around and his eyes fell on a few bottles of strong liquor on the table.
"Looks like this is the only way." Ye Shikai gritted his teeth, picked up two bottles of strong liquor, and walked down the stairs.
"Avril, oh Avril, eting you ans I’ll never have a peaceful day." Ye Shikai couldn’t help but complain. Originally in North Arica, he had lost his inner strength and his identity, and should have been able to live like a normal person again, but in the end... how did it co to this again? Ye Shikai seed almost depressed, wondering if his life was destined never to be peaceful.
Ye Shikai found an unnoticed corner on the first floor, eyeing the curtains not far from the door, ready to act once Avril made her move.
"Hey, when are you going to make a move?" Ye Shikai asked Avril at the edge of the dance floor through a Bluetooth earpiece.
"I’m approaching the target. I’ll signal you once I’m done," Avril replied softly. Within a few words, she had already reached a spot two ters from Steven.
"Hello, handso, would you like a drink?" Avril posed in a "seductive" manner, slightly twisting her body. This appearance was an irresistible temptation for any man.
Steven, naturally, didn’t refuse. He took the glass but didn’t drink imdiately, perhaps out of caution. After all, living this line of work could certainly be described as "living life on the edge." Facing this beautiful stranger, Steven maintained a basic level of vigilance. He placed the glass on a table beside him, picked up another glass, poured so wine, and drank it in one go...
Although Steven’s caution was comndable, he hadn’t anticipated Avril’s "backup plan." As Steven tipped his head back to drink, Avril, who a mont ago was seductive and charming, suddenly beca resolute and determined. Her gaze hardened, and her delicate hand on her waist swiftly lifted a knife. In the blink of an eye, blood spurted from Steven’s neck. His neck was fully exposed as he was drinking with his head tilted back, and Avril’s knife skills were impeccable; Steven didn’t have a chance to dodge and was "throat slashed" by her.
"I’ve done it," Avril turned around imdiately. The bar was crowded and noisy, especially around the dance floor filled with young people. She needed to slip away now before anyone noticed, taking advantage of the chaos.
"Ahhh, the boss is dead!" Within a few seconds, screams erupted from the crowd, and the guards at the entrance instantly noticed sothing was wrong, securing the entrance to prevent anyone from entering or leaving.
"It’s ti." Ye Shikai seized the mont and smashed the two bottles of strong liquor onto the curtains. The glass shattered, and the strong liquor soaked the curtains and the floor. While everyone’s attention was on the center of the dance floor, no one noticed Ye Shikai’s actions. After he threw the bottles, he took out a lighter from his pocket, flicked it, and tossed the flaming lighter towards the curtains...
"Oh no, there’s a fire, put it out quickly." The smoke detector above reacted imdiately, emitting a sharp alarm. Simultaneously, the patrons of the bar realized what had happened, shouting loudly. So won, more frightened, scread and covered their heads. Under these circumstances, the guards at the entrance couldn’t remain in position. Due to the alcohol, the fire spread quickly and urgently needed extinguishing.
"Go, quickly put out the fire." Several guards at the entrance ran over, leaving only two or three to stand guard.
"Perfect opportunity, co quickly." Ye Shikai spoke urgently through the Bluetooth earpiece, stealthily slipping towards the entrance.
"Go back now, no one is allowed to enter or exit," shouted the guards at the entrance to the patrons inside. Because of the fire, crowds of patrons surged towards the entrance but were blocked by the guards.
"Go to hell, do you want us to burn to death?" A voice of discontent rose from the crowd as a man charged forward, trying to break through the guards’ defense. With just two or three guards facing the surge of hundreds, they were clearly overwheld. However, Steven’s n were skilled enough to repel the lead male patrons and scare off others.
Naturally, Ye Shikai wouldn’t miss this great opportunity. The entrance was packed with people, all emotionally agitated, and the guards were weak. If he acted now, no one would suspect. He took a scarf to cover his face and waded through the crowd to the entrance...
"Who are you, get back!" A guard shouted angrily at Ye Shikai as he approached, holding a stick. However, this ti... he was shouting at the wrong person.
Ye Shikai said nothing, reached out with his right hand, and clamped down on the guard’s wrist, twisting it forcefully. The guard imdiately let out a pig-like scream.
"Stop!"
The remaining two guards rushed up upon seeing this, but Ye Shikai wasn’t shy. With a front kick, he sent one flying, followed by a high whip kick in mid-air, striking the other’s head and knocking him out.
"Quick, everyone run!" Ye Shikai shouted loudly, prompting everyone to realize the fire situation behind them; they weren’t foolish and charged out directly. Ye Shikai mingled in with the crowd, using the chaos to slip away.
"Seriously, this woman is just too troubleso." Having walked several streets away, Ye Shikai found a secluded corner, removed the scarf from his face, and couldn’t help but curse at Avril.
"If not for my quick wits, could we have escaped so easily?"
"Who would have thought you’d like talking behind people’s backs," a ghostly voice suddenly rang out. Ye Shikai tensed up, slowly turned his head, and Avril was standing right behind him.
