"Don’t be so stubborn, besides, you’re right here, Emilee won’t do anything to ," Ye Shikai softly advised. Ji Qian wasn’t actually stubborn, it was mainly that she was overly concerned about Ye Shikai’s safety. It was understandable, considering the Holy Mountain was fraught with danger; what if a giant beast suddenly appeared and swallowed Ye Shikai whole?

"Emilee, I agree with you, but they’ll wait for thirty ters away." Ye Shikai pointed to a large tree not far away, indicating the two should go there to talk. Thirty ters was a suitable distance, where others couldn’t hear the conversation, but they could rush over to help imdiately if needed.

"Say what you have to say." The two walked under the tree, and Ye Shikai got straight to the point. He managed to persuade Ji Qian, but not without hearing her complaints, and hoped Emilee’s information would be valuable.

"Why didn’t you listen to ? You insisted on playing the hero."

"I have my own plans. I’m neither a fool nor soone who loves to show off. Playing the hero is aningless. I went to the Holy Mountain for the sake of the Netherworld Palace," Ye Shikai explained.

"What’s the difference? You still went up there, Ye the hero."

"You seem very opposed to my going to the Holy Mountain, yet you don’t want to tell why. How am I supposed to trust you?" Ye Shikai looked away as he spoke.

"Then I’ll tell you the truth. This ti, Aphrodite wants to deal with you," Emilee hesitated for a long ti before speaking.

"Oh."

"Just ’oh’? She’s out to get you," Emilee almost fainted at Ye Shikai’s reaction, her good intentions seemingly going unappreciated, which was infuriating.

"Nonsense, among these people, only Aphrodite and I have a vendetta. I wouldn’t be surprised if she tries sothing," Ye Shikai rolled his eyes, then shifted his gaze to Emilee, "Since you know she wants to harm , can you tell more specifically?"

"No," Emilee refused outright.

"Co on, don’t be so heartless. Will you just watch walk into Aphrodite’s trap?"

"First of all, I warned you, but you didn’t listen. Secondly, there’s nothing between us. Don’t think that just because you’re handso and popular with won, all the beauties in the world revolve around you. That’s pure narcissism," Emilee retorted coldly, her tone devoid of any emotion.

"She’s a cold-blooded woman," Ye Shikai murmured. Emilee hadn’t clearly explained before, only ntioning danger, and any reasonable person might not fully believe it.

"Why won’t you tell ? I can offer you sothing in return."

"You have money, I have money. Whatever you have in the Netherworld Palace, I have here too. I’m not interested in your reward," Emilee said with her arms crossed, looking indifferent.

"Are you worried about Aphrodite’s retaliation? It makes sense, if you tell , then you’re tipping off," Ye Shikai muttered to himself, aning Aphrodite had indeed influenced several Main Gods, but Emilee hadn’t agreed.

"You’re right," Emily nodded.

"Then I’m curious, if you’re concerned about Aphrodite’s retaliation, why would you tell there’s danger?" Ye Shikai questioned.

"If sothing actually happens to you, even if I’m not involved, suspicion will still fall on . In severe cases, I could even face retaliation from the Three Temples. After all, sotis even having a mouth doesn’t an you can explain things clearly."

"This way, you offend no one, regardless of whether Aphrodite succeeds or not, you remain untouched," Ye Shikai nodded, recognizing Emilee’s strategy as not clever but very clear in its intent. This way, she indeed offends no one, and if Ye Shikai survives the ordeal, the Three Temples might even owe her a favor.

Aphrodite had drawn in various Main Gods for mutual benefits, using them against the Netherworld Palace, but she wouldn’t have anticipated Emilee informing Ye Shikai in advance, even if she only warned of danger.

"Emilee, why not help ? Since you’ve already warned ," Ye Shikai, seeing no harm in being shaless, tried to recruit Emilee. Though young, her strength was comparable to the forr Sun God Apollo and would be a great asset if she helped Ye Shikai.

"I’ve said it, I remain neutral and won’t lean towards any side. Telling you about the danger is already helping you. That’s all I have to say. Goodbye," Emilee finished, then left with her personal female guard.

Seeing Emilee leave so decisively, Ye Shikai didn’t persuade further. In this world, there’s no right or wrong, just different perspectives. Emilee chose neutrality, which was most favorable for herself; hence, there wasn’t much more to say.

"She insisted on talking to you just now, but now leaves without looking back, huh," Ji Qian snorted coldly, displeased. Ye Shikai gently patted her shoulder.

"Alright, let’s hurry up and leave."

"What exactly did Emilee say?" Ji Qian imdiately inquired.

"She hit the nail on the head; Aphrodite wants to deal with ."

"How does Emilee know that?"

"Aphrodite wants to recruit allies, and the new Main Gods are definitely her targets, with Emilee being one of them," Ye Shikai explained.

.......................................

The group’s pace wasn’t very fast. Though guided by a map to avoid unnecessary detours, by the ti they reached the Main Shrine, several other Main Gods had already arrived.

Except for... Athena.

Athena was unusually "low-key" at this Main God Conference, coming alone without guards, and hadn’t troubled Ye Shikai. Ye Shikai had seen her at the foot of the Holy Mountain just now, but it was only in passing. She seed disinterested in interacting with others, though solitary has always been her way.

"Why has Athena not arrived yet?" Ye Shikai asked curiously. For soone straightforward, she wouldn’t spend ti "enjoying the scenery"; with her ability, she should have reached the Main Shrine long ago, yet she’s not here now, which only ans one of two things: she has other goals, or she encountered danger.

"Athena is very skillful, among the twelve Main Gods, few can match her," Ji Qian glanced around at the other Main Gods. Those who should be here were here, and they arrived quickly. It’s unlikely they attacked Athena, and they have no motive.

"It’s best not to worry about her now; the conference is about to start."
