Emily carried Ye Shikai on her back, with Doris blocking the way ahead and Aphrodite cutting off the retreat behind. More than twenty n in black surrounded them tightly.

Facing the current situation, Emily’s face was ashen and her hands trembled uncontrollably. If it were only Aphrodite, she wouldn’t worry. But Doris was also there, and there was no way she could be a match for Doris unless she gained so distance; only then could her archery skills co into play.

"Emily, leave him behind and I’ll consider this matter resolved; our deal still stands", Aphrodite said calmly. Although Emily wanted to survive, she wasn’t foolish. She had already betrayed once, and knowing Aphrodite’s character, there was no way Aphrodite would trust her again. If she really handed over Ye Shikai, Doris would eliminate her.

"If I hand him over, will you really let go, Aphrodite? Do you take for a fool?" Emily drew her bow and notched an arrow. She was a very skilled archer, shooting with precision, but now surrounded by so many, she couldn’t put her skills to full use.

"Looks like you’re not that foolish. But if you don’t cooperate, your death will be more miserable," Aphrodite sneered coldly. She didn’t continue the deception, perhaps thinking it unnecessary now. Regardless, Emily and Ye Shikai would die here, so why not tear off the mask of hypocrisy?

"You’d better think carefully; you should have seen just now, Vulcan died at Hades’ hand. I advise you to think clearly, otherwise, should you lose your lives, you’ll regret it," Emily said sharply, pointing at Ye Shikai on her back.

Aphrodite showed suspicion, knowing full well that Ye Shikai held many secrets, including Demon Addiction, which she had never heard of before; its force was sothing even Zeus couldn’t withstand. There was also the secret of the Netherworld Blade; these were hidden with Ye Shikai, secrets that could perhaps dominate the Underworld. Frankly, if she wasn’t keen on killing Ye Shikai, Aphrodite might well want to "explore" these secrets.

Emily’s words seed sowhat credible. First, if Ye Shikai hadn’t erupted, how would Vulcan be dead, along with his followers? Perhaps Ye Shikai’s Demon Addiction had flared up. If it did again, Doris might not be his match either. Aphrodite had no desire to follow in the footsteps of Apollo, Hephesto, and Poseidon.

But Ye Shikai was unconscious now, seemingly incapable of killing easily. Otherwise, why would he need Emily to carry him?

Aphrodite wouldn’t believe Emily entirely just based on her words. She turned slightly and gave Doris a covert glance, communicating without words. Doris imdiately charged forward, pulling out a trident and thrusting straight ahead.

Emily drew her bow and let an arrow fly.

Swoosh.

Bang.

The arrowhead collided with the trident’s point, causing Doris to miss her mark. Infuriated, Doris beca even angrier, giving Emily an opportunity to create more distance.

"Everyone, charge!"

Emily took out three arrows from her quiver, set them on her bowstring, and shot them, taking down three n instantly.

"Good archery skills," Doris sneered as she charged again. Emily sidestepped, and although the trident didn’t hit, it managed to graze Ye Shikai on her back.

"Hades, are you okay?" Emily panicked, keeping her distance from Doris and hurriedly checking his injury. His arm was grazed but the bone wasn’t hurt; it needed quick bandaging.

"Emily, you’re not my match, let alone fighting with a man on your back. Give up, you’re not my target, I won’t go after you," Doris said coldly.

Emily’s heart trembled, with a hidden urge to just hand Ye Shikai over to them. Even if they broke their promise, she might have a chance to escape, but with a man on her back, escape seed impossible.

"What’s your decision?" Doris threatened.

"Alright... alright, I agree. I’ll hand him over to you," Emily nodded, then slowly laid Ye Shikai in the grass. She truly didn’t want to do this, but survival spurred her to silently pray Ye Shikai wouldn’t resent her.

"Hades, you’re finally going to die. This ti, I’m going to kill you myself," Aphrodite approached slowly, pulling out a dagger and pressing it to his neck, her face showing a crazed expression.

Roar roar.

"What sound is that?" Suddenly, a terrifying roar ca from the bushes, sounding like an enraged beast. Everyone turned sharply; a colossal beast erged from the foliage, resembling a tiger with dragon horns on its head and flas burning on four legs. Most crucially, the beast’s size was enormous, far larger than an elephant.

If Ye Shikai were awake now, he’d surely recognize it as the beast encountered by the Three Temples at the Holy Mountain last ti. Despite multiple masters attacking together, they couldn’t harm it; later, it simply left "obediently" after being petted by Ye Shikai.

"What monster is this?" Everyone was shocked, unfamiliar with the creature. Being on the Holy Mountain, strange creatures weren’t uncommon. Though its identity was unknown, its fierce display and thunderous roar, echoing through the sky, filled them with trembling fear.

Everyone beca alert; no one tried to deal with Ye Shikai on the ground. Emily seized the mont, quickly picking up Ye Shikai and attempting to leave amidst the chaos.

"Don’t even think about leaving," Doris saw this and hurriedly moved to block Emily, but before she could thrust the trident, a waterlon-sized paw struck down.

The beast intervened.

Its massive body, fiery limbs, intimidated everyone from approaching. Doris instinctively dodged, and the beast’s paw left a deep imprint on the ground; the damage it could inflict was evident. Even the most powerful cultivator would suffer internal injuries if crushed by it.

Despite its massive size, the beast moved swiftly. The group’s fear prevented them from resisting it, while the beast intentionally stood between them and Emily, seemingly to stop Aphrodite and her followers. Emily, unable to understand, had no ti to ponder. With Ye Shikai on her back, she fled at full speed.
