"What did you say?" Athena was shocked. She had initially thought Emily was just talking nonsense, but even Wang Kai had seen the giant beast. This ant Emily wasn’t lying. Emily sighed in relief; she had thought she couldn’t clear herself even if she jumped into the Yellow River. Wang Kai’s words helped clear things up, though her private connection to Aphrodite was now a fact. Moving forward, the Three Temples was unlikely to trust her again, and even if she returned to find Aphrodite, it was undoubtedly a path to death.
"Although it’s been a while, I rember it vividly. Based on Emily’s description, I can roughly judge that it’s the one I encountered before," Wang Kai explained. "During our last battle with the Main God on the Holy Mountain, we encountered a giant beast with a huge body, and its four paws were on fire. Even with so many of us together, we couldn’t defeat it. If it is as Emily says, and the giant beast is coming to seize people, Doris won’t be able to stop it at all."
The giant beast’s imnse strength and nearly undying body left a deep impression on Wang Kai, even months later. His mind raced, pondering strategies to defeat it if they encountered it again later on.
"What do we do now?" Athena’s heart was anxious. Ye Shikai had been taken away by a "monster"; this was unacceptable. Although Emily ntioned that the beast didn’t harm or swallow Ye Shikai, that didn’t an anything. Perhaps the beast wasn’t hungry yet, but it might eat Ye Shikai once it was.
Athena’s thoughts were consud with concern for Ye Shikai. She wished she could set out imdiately.
"Wait a minute." At that mont, Emily suddenly called out to the two of them.
"Do you have sothing to say?" Athena asked impatiently.
"There might be danger near the Moon God." Emily’s tone was a bit guilty. She had relayed their entire plan to Aphrodite, aning that Ji Qian taking the Forest Road was now known to the other side. Therefore, the Forest Road was likely an ambush site, and not only Ji Qian but the situations with Nightmare, Demoness, and Soul Destroyer were also unpredictable.
"You..." Athena was so angry she wanted to cut down Emily with a sword. It was because of Emily’s leak that the Three Temples’ plan fell apart, putting everyone in danger.
"I’m sorry, I..."
"Let’s go." Wang Kai stopped Athena, ignoring Emily, and left imdiately. Ye Shikai was now missing with no communication devices, no tracking system, no inner strength, not even a bottle of water. The only solution was to leave the ruins right away and bring a large number of mbers and supplies to search the mountain.
This was the only way since cultivators are still human. Going without food or water for days would weaken them, even if they didn’t die. Moreover, there is strength in numbers; bringing the mbers of the Three Temples would make the search much easier.
....................................
Yun City, Worm Sect.
"Where... where am I?" Ji Qian slowly opened her eyes to see green curtains.
"You’re finally awake. It seems the antidote worked well." A girl in white robes slowly approached her, holding a small bowl.
"Wuyan, it’s you. Have I reached the Worm Sect?" Ji Qian imdiately recognized Wuyan but hadn’t expected that upon waking, she’d already left the ruins.
"Your subordinates brought you to on a special jet early in the morning and asked and Dugu Tianke to save you. You’re lucky; he’s here at the Worm Sect and knows how to detoxify you." Wuyan said calmly as Ji Qian sat up on the bed.
"What ti is it now?"
"Four in the afternoon."
"No, the ruins are about to close. I must return now." Ji Qian’s face changed dramatically upon hearing this and she tried to stand from the bed.
"Don’t move around recklessly. You’ve just been detoxified, and your body is still weak. Your inner strength... will also need ti to recover before it can be used." Wuyan advised, taking a small wooden box from a nearby table and holding it in front of Ji Qian. Inside were the specins of two spiders.
"These are venomous spiders from tropical and cold regions. The toxin in you was composed of these two different toxins, so the Shennong Pill effect wasn’t significant. Dugu Tianke has removed most of the toxins, and the rest will vanish with your tabolism."
"Thank you for your help." Ji Qian nodded. It was getting dark, and there were less than six hours until the ruins closed. She knew nothing of Ye Shikai’s situation.
"Where are Soul Destroyer and Demoness?" Ji Qian asked quickly.
"You an your two subordinates?" Wuyan replied. "They asked to help detoxify you and then left imdiately. I think they must be gathering forces to re-enter the Holy Mountain."
"It’s terrible, and it’s all my fault for getting poisoned at this ti." Ji Qian was very frustrated. Now she knew nothing and could do nothing.
"Don’t bla yourself so much. To have you by his side is his blessing," Wuyan sat down, speaking frankly. "If it weren’t for wanting to care for you and ensure your safety, I would also like to head to the ruins of the Holy Mountain imdiately. Without inner strength, it will be very dangerous there."
"Wuyan, please send on a plane. I can move now; at most... I’ll just bring more people with . Please don’t worry about my safety." Ji Qian was anxious, but she overestimated her body’s condition. As Wuyan ntioned, the toxin, against which even the Shennong Pill was weak, was no ordinary poison. Dugu Tianke was a Divine Doctor but not a god. A snap of fingers couldn’t restore her to full health.
"No, with your current physical state, you couldn’t even manage an 800-ter run. Just stay in bed and rest."
Knock, knock, knock.
At this mont, an old man walked in from outside the door. It was Dugu Tianke.
"How are you feeling?" Dugu Tianke approached the two won, his expression kindly befitting a Divine Doctor. Creating an antidote within an hour and having Ji Qian wake up within two hours were comndable feats.
"Thank you, Senior, for your help, but now I have to hurry back."
"There’s no need to rush, girl. I just did a divination for that lad. This ti, it’s a matter of life and death for him filled with dangers but an essential part of his trials. You can rest assured, he won’t et any harm, but this ti... it might be a while before you can see him again."
"Senior Dugu, what do you an by this?" Ji Qian didn’t quite understand, nor did Wuyan, who also looked on with a puzzled expression.
"That’s all I can say for now. The rest, you’ll understand when the ti cos."
