409: Chapter 409: Su Qingyu’s Indifference 409: Chapter 409: Su Qingyu’s Indifference “How long have I been asleep?” After an indeterminate amount of ti, Ye Shikai slowly opened his eyes and rubbed them hard, looking around.
“Awake now?
The plane has already landed.” Suddenly, a familiar voice ca to his ears.
Turning his head sharply, Su Qingyu was staring at him with a smile on her face, and for so reason, he felt there was a hint of chillness in that smile.
“Sorry, I didn’t realize I slept for so long.” Ye Shikai looked at his watch—it had been a full two hours, and now his head was still feeling heavy.
“I’ve notified Qingqing to co to pick us up.
Get ready.” Su Qingyu put on a pair of sunglasses while a flight attendant pushed over his luggage, all of which belonged to Ye Shikai.
“Ouch, Qingyu, I think I twisted my waist.
Could you give a hand?” The mont Ye Shikai moved, he winced in pain and reached out, hoping Su Qingyu would help him.
Su Qingyu just humd softly from the side, put on a white sun hat, and completely ignored Ye Shikai’s request.
She walked out in her high heels, leaving him behind.
“What’s gotten into Qingyu?” Ye Shikai murmured.
Why had she reverted to that cold deanor?
She wasn’t like this before.
Could she be suffering from a split personality, or was there sothing wrong with the feng shui in Yanjing…
“Qingyu, wait for .” Ye Shikai, hauling a large suitcase, hurried after her.
Su Qingyu, however, walked briskly ahead without waiting for him, and Ye Shikai was perplexed—it was just a nap, how could things have changed so much.
“On the car ride ho, Su Ziqing, driving Ye Shikai’s Lexus, said teasingly to her brother-in-law, “Brother-in-law, you’re quite sothing, sending my sister back so effortlessly.” Su Qingyu promptly took the passenger seat, leaving Ye Shikai with no choice but to sit in the back.
He couldn’t help but feel that ever since they returned to Yanjing, Su Qingyu had been deliberately avoiding him.
“Well, your sister is the impressive one,” Ye Shikai replied absentmindedly, glancing at Su Qingyu through the rearview mirror from ti to ti, observing the changes in her expression.
Once back ho, Su Qingyu continued to be dismissive, and even with Su Ziqing’s carefree attitude, she noticed sothing was off.
Ye Shikai, retrieving the luggage from the trunk, hurried it upstairs only to find, to his surprise, that the bedroom door was locked by Su Qingyu.
“Knock, knock, knock, Qingyu, are you there?” A trace of foreboding ran through Ye Shikai’s mind.
After a few minutes, the bedroom door slowly opened, and there was Su Qingyu, her face cold and indifferent.
“Co in.”
“Cough, Qingyu, you seem a bit strange,” Ye Shikai said awkwardly.
“Strange?
How so?
I don’t feel it.”
“I feel like you’ve beco very distant and cold all of a sudden,” Ye Shikai expressed his confusion.
Even the most naive could sense it.
“You’re overthinking it.” After hearing this, Su Qingyu’s palm trembled slightly, a flash of unusual color crossed her face, but it was only for a mont.
She returned to her cold deanor.
“No, you really have changed from before.
What exactly happened?” Anxious, Ye Shikai grabbed Su Qingyu’s arm, eager to get to the bottom of it.
“Is it possible that I did sothing wrong?
I’d like to apologize if so,” he offered, knowing that to placate a woman, the man must apologize first, regardless of who is at fault, or else things would spiral out of control.
“What did you do wrong?” Su Qingyu replied icily.
“Uh, I don’t know.”
“If you did nothing wrong, what are you apologizing for?” Su Qingyu rolled her eyes and said indifferently, “I need to change my clothes, please step out for a mont.”
Ye Shikai was helpless.
Had Su Qingyu taken the wrong dication today?
Why was she acting like this again, cold as the first ti they t?
The only difference was that now Su Qingyu had let him into her room…
Ye Shikai heaved a sigh of frustration.
The heart of a woman is inscrutable as the ocean’s depths, how could he, a straightforward man, possibly figure it out?
Just as he was about to turn and leave, he heard her voice again.
“You should go and see Shiqi when you have ti; she probably misses you too.
Now that you’re back, find so ti to see her,” Su Qingyu said lightly as she began to remove her coat.
“Uh, I got it, we’ll talk about this later.” Ye Shikai silently closed the door, walked over to the adjacent room, his previous residence.
He rembered that back then, Su Qingyu stubbornly refused to share a room with him.
Things had just started to get better between them, but now…
…
Yanjing, Dark Night Bar.
Ye Shikai did not choose a quiet and luxurious VIP room, but instead sat down in a noisy main hall, finding a corner to drink in silence.
The quick rush of alcohol to the brain allowed him a temporary respite from his depressed mood.
“You’ve ordered so much alcohol; if you get drunk, don’t expect to take you ho,” a soft voice suddenly said from behind.
Turning around, he saw a figure in scattered red, the epito of charm, approaching.
The woman slowly ca to sit beside Ye Shikai, surrounded by a circle of black-suited bodyguards.
It was, of course, Luo Shiqi.
“Would you mind if I sleep here in the bar?” Ye Shikai, seemingly a bit intoxicated, with a flush on his face, pointed at the several empty vodka bottles on the table, all of which he had just drunk.
“The bar has to close, you know.
But I wouldn’t mind you sleeping on my bed,” Luo Shiqi said, propping her hands under her chin and leaning on the table, smiling at Ye Shikai’s face.
“What’s gotten into you today, didn’t you co back with Qingyu?
Why co here to drink your sorrows away?” Luo Shiqi picked up a glass, poured herself a drink, and slowly started sipping.
“Shiqi, the thoughts of you won…
why are they so hard to understand?” Ye Shikai chuckled, seemingly being self-deprecating, then went on to tell Luo Shiqi everything that happened today.
“You’re talking about Qingyu, right?
I don’t have such petty thoughts.
Could it be that you’ve done sothing behind her back, and she’s found out?” Luo Shiqi smiled faintly after listening.
She didn’t know why Su Qingyu would act this way but felt it vaguely related to Ye Shikai.
“If one day, you dare do sothing to betray , I won’t be as gentle as Qingyu.
I’ll put poison in your drink, hmph,” Luo Shiqi said displeasedly, downing her wine in one go and slamming the glass onto the table.
“Wow, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, huh?
You could actually do that,” Ye Shikai exclaid, a trace of fear in his voice.
Hadn’t he just drunk a spiked drink from Luo Shiqi last ti, the one with sleeping pills?
Perhaps from now on, he’d need to check his drinks first.
