“Shiqi, why are you here? I’m still at a party.” Ye Shikai held onto Luo Shiqi’s hand and walked towards a quiet corner to ask.

“Shiqi, can you calm down? Do you think I am that kind of person?”

“You were just dancing with her, hand in hand, is this what you call a friend?” Luo Shiqi questioned, as if a wife questioning a cheating husband.

“She wanted you.” Luo Shiqi was referring to the day when Ye Shikai accidentally fell into the river and was rescued by Luo Shiqi. When Chen Yuxin heard about it, she imdiately went to Luo Shiqi’s mansion to ask for him, but she was too late, Ye Shikai had already left. At that ti, Luo Shiqi found it strange why Chen Yuxin cared so much about Ye Shikai, now it appears they indeed have an “affair.”

Seeing Ye Shikai hesitating and staying silent, Luo Shiqi got even angrier and pulled out her phone to make a call.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m calling Su Qingyu to tell her about the philandering things you’ve done.” Luo Shiqi shouted, and Ye Shikai, frightened, quickly snatched the phone and hung up.
“Alright, alright, I’ll tell you.” Ye Shikai helplessly “surrendered” and recounted his entire affair with Chen Yuxin from start to finish. Although it was a long story, he kept it concise. Luo Shiqi’s expression changed throughout, and Ye Shikai was afraid that she might impulsively do sothing over the top.
“So, she is your childhood sweetheart.” Luo Shiqi comnted indifferently after listening.
“Yes, we grew up together, and she was my girlfriend back then,” Ye Shikai said, squatting at the corner of the wall.
“So you had a relationship with her.” Luo Shiqi asked tentatively. Ye Shikai shook his head with a bitter smile. They were both only eighteen when they broke up, “law-abiding” good students at that ti; how could they have done such a thing? He thought they would go to college together and eventually get married, but unexpectedly, Chen Yuxin left without saying goodbye even before they graduated from high school.
“So, you were dumped by her,” Luo Shiqi said, unable to suppress a chuckle.
“Do you have no humanity? Laughing at a ti like this,” Ye Shikai said with a deadpan expression, but Luo Shiqi’s words were indeed true. Although he wasn’t played, he was dumped. Thinking it over, Luo Shiqi and Chen Yuxin could now be considered love rivals. When Chen Yuxin left Ye Shikai, it was an opportunity for Luo Shiqi.
“Chen Yuxin didn’t appreciate you—that’s her loss. And now she has the nerve to co back? Shaless,” Luo Shiqi muttered softly. If it weren’t for worrying about hurting Ye Shikai’s feelings, she would have cursed Chen Yuxin out countless tis by now.
“She didn’t an to do it at that ti,” Ye Shikai shook his head, looking quite downhearted. “Pressured by her parents, being born into such a prominent family, many things are done out of necessity. I believe her, she didn’t do it intentionally.”
“You’re just too soft on people around you. Even if her leaving without saying goodbye wasn’t intentional, what about last ti? When you fell into the water, she had to bear so responsibility,” Luo Shiqi continued to speak her mind. “She even used anesthesia on you—it must have been preditated.”
“That was because she was too emotional. I can understand that,” Ye Shikai said helplessly, shaking his head. “So, now I’ve told you everything. Shouldn’t you apologize to , too?”
“Apologize? For what? With how many won you’re ambiguously involved, you still want an apology from ?” Luo Shiqi snorted coldly.
“Hey, you dragged out here and slapped without any clarification. Don’t you think you owe an apology?” Ye Shikai said innocently, rubbing his cheek which still ached.
“Hmph,” Luo Shiqi snorted and patted her hands again, “Dream on if you think I’ll apologize.”
“The door’s open, now get out,” Luo Shiqi said, lifting her foot and kicking Ye Shikai on his backside.
“Shrew,” Ye Shikai muttered under his breath, glancing at his watch. It had already been half an hour; this was bad.

“Kai, co out with for a mont,” Ye Shikai returned to the private room where his classmates were enthusiastically chatting. Just as he was about to settle back into his seat to relax, Chen Yuxin grabbed his arm and pulled him out.
“Xin, what are you doing?” Ye Shikai asked helplessly.
“What did Luo Shiqi say to you just now?” Chen Yuxin demanded.
“Nothing much, we just had a casual chat,” Ye Shikai said evasively.
“Liar, you can’t even look in the eye. She must be trying to sow discord. I knew she wasn’t a good person,”
“Xin, why do you insult people?” Ye Shikai looked around to make sure no one was listening, then admonished with an annoyed expression, “She and I are friends, you speaking about her like that makes angry.”
