Chapter 792: Chapter 792: Posting a ssage

“Hehe, sorry about that, Mr. Ye, but you might want to check a mirror before you head out,” teased the young secretary, covering her mouth and trying not to laugh.

“What’s wrong with my face?” Ye Shikai curiously asked, to which the secretary responded with a chuckle, retrieving a compact mirror from her handbag and passing it to Ye Shikai.

“Damn.”

Ye Shikai saw, on his more than fair face, a striking red handprint—the very slap Luo Shiqi had delivered monts ago. Goodness, she had hit with such force; Ye Shikai had only felt a numbness on his cheek then and hadn’t realized Luo Shiqi really struck him hard.

“Do you want to borrow so foundation to cover it up?” the secretary jested with a laugh.

“Hehe, no need,” Ye Shikai said with an awkward smile, placing the mirror on the table and then quickly leaving the Haitian Building.

“Sigh, I really don’t know if she took it to heart,” Ye Shikai sighed, deeming it necessary to assign a Hidden Guard to protect her.

With so many things happening all at once, Ye Shikai was sowhat overwheld. It now seed that the killer might shift targets from those societal dregs reported in the news to soone around him, unsettling Ye Shikai but also revealing the killer’s wariness—the so-called “God’s ssenger,” also resorting to such despicable tactics.

Contemptible.

Driving back to the police station, Ye Shikai was t, as expected, by the glumness on Zhang Ting’s face, written with three words.

Wanting to hit soone.

“You actually rembered to co back,” Zhang Ting coldly said, reaching out to grab Ye Shikai by the collar.

“The killer just called again,” Ye Shikai hurriedly explained.

“What, another call?” Zhang Ting, realizing it was serious, imdiately let go, and the two headed to the office where Zhang Ting promptly began to inquire.

“Just so threats aid at ,” Ye Shikai honestly replied. To be more precise, it was harassnt; daring to touch Luo Shiqi was tantamount to having a death wish. Ye Shikai recounted the entire incident.

“That’s outrageous. Sooner or later, I will bring him to justice,” Zhang Ting exclaid angrily, slamming her hand on the table before shooting Ye Shikai a glance, “Why aren’t you angry at all?”

“Getting angry is pointless. Rather than wasting energy on anger, I’d better think about how to catch him,” Ye Shikai said calmly, then added, “Besides, if I damage my health out of anger, how am I supposed to solve cases?”

“Right, how exactly did he threaten you?”

“He plans to target Shiqi,” Ye Shikai stated flatly.

“Luo Shiqi.”

“Yes.”

“Hmph, she’s a she-devil too. Even if the killer doesn’t capture her, I will…” Zhang Ting muttered discontentedly on the side. Ye Shikai’s expression imdiately soured; regardless of anything, Luo Shiqi was soone important to him, and it was sowhat embarrassing for Zhang Ting to speak like this. Ye Shikai understood her perspective; their identities were inherently at odds, one good and one evil, one white and one black. But from another perspective, who doesn’t have two sides to them? Take Ye Shikai, for instance; his past in the foreign Underworld was not much different from Luo Shiqi’s, yet now, wasn’t he helping the police solve cases and championing justice?

“There would be no Buddha without demons. I believe in her; she wouldn’t do those universally despised deeds.”

“Hmph, acting like you know her so well. You’ve known her for only half a year; I’ve been ‘dealing’ with her for several years,” Zhang Ting continued, still holding a significant prejudice against Luo Shiqi, sothing Ye Shikai could understand.

“That’s enough, stop talking,” Ye Shikai shook his hand, signaling Zhang Ting to stop, “Even if the killer aims to take down a reprobate, I would stop them just the sa. Right now, we’re discussing the killer, nothing else matters.”

Bang.

Suddenly, the office door was flung open, and Chen, a female officer, hurried in.

“Chen, what’s the matter?” Zhang Ting was startled, while Ye Shikai had an ominous premonition.

“Ting, Ye, sothing terrible has happened. You both need to co see this,” Chen glanced at Zhang Ting first before turning to Ye Shikai with a panicked call.

“What’s going on?” The two exchanged looks, sensing a crisis, and without delay, dashed out.

…………………

Ye Shikai and Zhang Ting hastily followed Chen to the cyber police office, only to be greeted by a crowd gathered around a computer.

“What’s happened?” Zhang Ting pulled aside soone in front and rushed to the front, where they found a webpage.

“What is this?”

“A post just went up online about the killer.”

“Let see.” Zhang Ting took a seat and stared at the webpage in front of her showcasing five photos. She didn’t recognize any of these people, but there was a section of text behind each of them.

“Must be their ‘criminal records,'” Ye Shikai comnted from the side.

“That’s right, all of these people were in the news for bad deeds in past years,” a cyber officer imdiately added. Ye Shikai approached and glanced at the computer screen, spotting a na that caught his “envy.”

Demon exorcist.

Wasn’t that the moniker the killer claid over the phone? Demon exorcist, ssenger of God, punishing all the evils of the world—this had to be a post from the killer himself, and the following content bolstered this belief.

That bastard, actually having netizens vote—which of the five with the highest votes would be “punished.”

Everyone scrutinized the post’s content. Its style matched the one used by the killer during his calls, and the ability to “punish” these individuals was a sure sign of the killer.

“This post is from the killer,” Ye Shikai suddenly shouted.

“That’s right, I can confirm it,” Zhang Ting echoed in agreent.

“Where is the IP address of this post?” Ye Shikai exclaid eagerly.

“We’re working on tracing it.”

“Make it quick.” Ye Shikai looked visibly anxious; the killer was definitely a hacker, and the website for the post was well-made. Down below, comnts began to trickle in—most of them castigating the five people whom the post showcased, and the vote count under each na was on the rise…

“Can’t pinpoint the location, they’ve used special techniques.”

“Then crack it quickly!” Ye Shikai yelled and scratched his head vigorously.

“Should we block this post for now?” Zhang Ting asked from the side.

“No, no, it’s too soon to block it now. Besides, the killer must have anticipated this move and will have sothing up his sleeve. Let’s hold our ground,” Ye Shikai waved his hand. With people already having seen it, forcefully shutting down the post would be futile, only serving to make things more conspicuous.
