"But there’s sothing I need you to answer seriously." Ye Shikai turned around, his eyes like frost, his gaze stern, exuding a thick killing intent that only erges when facing a truly powerful enemy. Now it manifested, making one shiver with fear. Ye Shikai rarely acted seriously, but when it concerned his family, he would go all out to eliminate danger.
"Go ahead."
"On the day of the wedding, at the scene, soone set traps. Was it you who shot Qingyu?" Ye Shikai articulated word-by-word, saying it with utmost seriousness, just like his current mood—heavy. Back then, Su Qingyu had one foot in the Yama Hall. If Ye Shikai hadn’t fought desperately to find the awakening fruit and save Su Qingyu from her coma, she might still be dead now.
"No." Bai Jiao uttered two words, and Ye Shikai instantly retracted the killing intent. Bai Jiao felt the tightness in her chest vanish, and the surrounding killing intent dissipated as if it never appeared.
Ye Shikai’s gaze gradually softened, and he turned to walk toward the door.
"Wait a minute, do you really trust that easily?" Bai Jiao stopped Ye Shikai. She had already admitted to kidnapping Luo Shiqi that day, and almost killed Ye Shikai. Logically, it was highly possible she was behind the scene setting traps to shoot Su Qingyu, yet one word was enough for Ye Shikai to turn away, unexpected to her.
"Since you dared to co personally to Netherworld Palace, you must have known I’d believe you." Ye Shikai said indifferently, and walked away.
"So, you’re just letting her go?" Inside the secret room, Ji Qian furrowed her brows after listening to Ye Shikai’s account.
"I am clear with grudges, she isn’t the culprit who hard Qingyu, and obviously, she isn’t the real mastermind. If I were to kill her now, wouldn’t it sever the clues?"
"That’s true, but... why not keep questioning then?" Ji Qian asked.
"Do you think she’d obediently tell ?" Ye Shikai shook his head, helplessly saying. If it weren’t for so ’rogue’ thods, Bai Jiao wouldn’t have acknowledged she was the one who kidnapped Luo Shiqi. Ye Shikai had to trace the mastermind, and Bai Jiao seed familiar with the clues Johnson found earlier—this tied to the truth of the Dragon Teeth operation leak. If Bai Jiao alive, she’d be more valuable, so Ye Shikai could let her live for now.
"Then you could use so extre thods."
"Cough, cough, let it be, Bai Jiao joining us now, counts as a support. I think, this ti’s operation against the Cam Gang can be entrusted to her." Ye Shikai’s bold idea left Ji Qian displeased.
"You’re insane, entrusting such an important operation to her? If she sabotages it, do you want more of our brothers hard?" Ji Qian firmly opposed, indeed, probably no normal person would entrust such an important operation to a forr enemy.
"Calm down, don’t forget, who first proposed this operation here." Ye Shikai waved his hand. Back then, during the eting at the Netherworld Palace base in South Arica, Bai Jiao insisted on clearing the Cam Gang, aligning with Ghost’s thoughts, proving Bai Jiao had plans.
"Even if she proposed it, I don’t believe she’s helping us out of goodwill. If she was once commissioned to kidnap Luo Shiqi, what reason does she have to help us now?" Ji Qian scoffed, in her mind, Bai Jiao was soone ambitious with ulterior motives, not to be trusted.
"Trust , don’t worry, I have ways to deal with it." Ye Shikai nodded confidently. If Bai Jiao has any tricks, she’s courting death.
.......................................
Two days later, South Arican airport.
"Greetings, Netherworld King." From the special plane of the Netherworld Palace, dozens of strong n descended, not just formidable in appearance, they were top rcenaries in the underworld. Many retired from special forces of various countries, so were desperate criminals, and Ghost’s work at the European base involved recruiting these ’experts’.
"Tony, long ti no see." Ye Shikai approached, shaking hands with the leader of these rcenaries. The white male before him was a muscular giant with over a hundred lives in his hands. Even in turbulent regions, his presence was noted.
As for the people around him, they were from other rcenary groups, recruited by Ghost, forming the backbone of the Netherworld Palace. Gathering such a large group wasn’t an easy task.
"Weapons are in the rear, Netherworld King, let’s discuss once we return to the base." Tony pointed to the dozen or so wooden boxes behind, casually saying.
"Alright, let’s go back now." Ye Shikai nodded. Though firearms were allowed locally, such a quantity required ’low profile’ handling to avoid stirring alarm.
Ninety rcenaries, plus twenty action personnel from Netherworld Palace, totaling one hundred ten people. They were seasoned veterans, though still fewer compared to Cam Gang’s over two thousand mbers. However, Ye Shikai did not believe these scattered formations could deliver the strength of two thousand. Though nominally surpassing two thousand, realistically, many were fringe mbers with outdated weapons—so even re makeshift arms. Directly killing Cam Gang’s leader could lead to their collapse without a fight.
"Netherworld King, tomorrow’s operation can be completely entrusted to us." Tony wiped the machine gun in his hand—his favorite, the man was practically a war beast, covered in bullet holes and scars. His brothers had walked through life and death with him.
"Why, afraid I’ll be a burden?" Ye Shikai joked, feeling the familiarity with the firearms.
"Of course not, just that those little lackeys aren’t worthy of your efforts. Cam Gang’s leader, Baklo, is your prey." Tony handed a sharp blade to Ye Shikai, the ’Deadly Blade’ for killing prey, whoever held it was the Terminator.
"His life is mine to take." Ye Shikai slapped the blade into the wooden table.
"You’re here, huh." At this ti, a cold voice ca from the door.
"Greetings, Lord Moon God." Tony bowed respectfully, Ji Qian slightly nodded, walked to the two, picked up the pistol from the table, expertly loaded, and fired rapidly at the nearby target.
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.
"Five shots in the center, nice shooting."
