“Why are you here?” Ye Shikai asked sowhat surprised, and what made him even more uneasy was Ji Qian’s deanor, as if she’d eaten gunpowder, her face practically writing the words “I want to hit soone.”
Could it be that he had done sothing wrong again?
“Oh, it seems you didn’t want to co, huh.” Ji Qian shot back coldly, “Why did you keep Bai Jiao?”
“How did you know…” Ye Shikai blurted out, he had only just made the decision, and the eting room was soundproof; Ji Qian shouldn’t have been able to hear even if she was eavesdropping outside.
“Hmph, you don’t need to know that, answer , why did you keep her.”
“Of course I have my reasons for keeping her, why do you care so much about this.” Ye Shikai’s face darkened, feeling as though he was the Netherworld King in na only, with Ji Qian controlling everything, but he didn’t mind; he had no desire for power, the authority and position of Netherworld King were re “illusions” to him.
“Are you monitoring ?” Ye Shikai looked up at the cara above and instantly understood.
“I just don’t want you to make mistakes. Bai Jiao’s identity hasn’t been clarified yet; you made such a hasty decision; why didn’t you consult with first?” Ji Qian’s tone was assertive, now resembling a “worried mother.”
“You never wanted to keep her, right.” Ye Shikai was sowhat displeased too; Ji Qian essentially admitted to monitoring him, which touched Ye Shikai’s principles. Even close ones, he didn’t want to be treated this way; this was a “trust issue.”
“You usually don’t handle the matters of the Netherworld Palace; I’m the one dealing with them. There are things you don’t understand. I originally planned to ‘expel’ Bai Jiao imdiately after handling Tang Yun’s matters.” Ji Qian shared her intentions. She hadn’t discussed them with Ye Shikai; she had been planning all of this from the beginning.
Ye Shikai remained silent for a long ti, after half a minute, he finally spoke.
“Since that’s the case, then you should beco the Netherworld King.”

“Sorry, I shouldn’t have said those things earlier.” Ye Shikai took the initiative to apologize first; indeed, that last sentence he threw was said in anger.
“You’ve spent half a year in Yanjing, not understanding many things outside. I’m doing this for the Netherworld Palace.” Ji Qian understood how Ye Shikai felt.
