Chapter 956: Chapter 956: Provocation Against the Racing God

“So this is the world-class racer.” Ye Shikai remarked nonchalantly, “Looks like he’s quite impressive.”

“Hmph, isn’t it just a big na? Yaoyao could easily crush him.” Su Ziqing cheered for Han Ruoyao from behind. Statuses are just labels; let’s see them demonstrate real skill.

“Welco everyone to the Tianshan Club. Tonight’s race features not only our famous Yanjing race queen but also a new friend, European racing champion Mr. Jack,” announced the host on the central stage to the crowd below.

“So this guy’s na is Jack,” Ye Shikai murmured to himself. He had heard of this racer before, though he was skilled at street racing. To be honest, Ye found racing pointless and silly. These spoiled rich kids hadn’t experienced real bloodshed and thus didn’t understand that a cultivator’s life-and-death struggle was far more thrilling than any racetrack. If they’d been through those sword-clashing challenges, they’d realize that racing isn’t exciting at all.

Hearing Jack’s na, the audience erupted in cheers. It seed this champion was indeed quite popular, and he was sowhat handso at first glance.

“I’ve co this ti to challenge the local racing queen.” Jack spoke, his Huaxia language not very fluent. This was a challenge to the queen, and Ye Shikai, who had spent a long ti in Europe, understood that they harbored a bit of disdain towards Huaxia people. It was sothing intrinsic, which is why only strength speaks the truth—whoever has the bigger fists is the Boss.

“Such arrogance,” Han Ruoyao scoffed, turning to the two, “Guys, Qingqing, I’ll go change my clothes first. You two stay here and watch.”

“Alright, go ahead then.” Ye Shikai nodded, signaling for her to do her best.

“Brother-in-law, do you think this foreigner is so arrogant that Yaoyao might be in danger?” Su Ziqing asked worriedly. Racing is indeed dangerous for ordinary people, but Jack was new to Yanjing. He wouldn’t pose a real threat to Han Ruoyao just because of a race, right?

“Probably not.” Ye Shikai hesitated as well; an accident here could be deadly.

“Brother-in-law, maybe… you should enter a race too, just to keep an eye on Yaoyao, in case anything happens.”

“Well… okay then, stay here and don’t wander off.”

“Mm, don’t worry, Brother-in-law.”

Ye Shikai walked over to the competitor’s platform. There was still half an hour before the race started; he should still have ti to register.

Almost everyone here belonged to wealthy, spoiled circles. Each contestant ca with a team to check their car parts and record data. Naturally, so had also brought hired “cheerleaders”—with enough money, you could hire as many supporters as you wanted. They weren’t short on money.

“Had I known I’d be racing, I’d have chosen a modified car from the base.” Ye Shikai sighed. However, in racing, skill was the essence. He’d encountered several formidable racers, but none that stood out significantly, except maybe Jack.

Ye Shikai inspected the car’s performance and leaned back against it, smoking. He didn’t have a team since it was just a single lap; changing the tires wasn’t necessary.

Smoking a cigarette before the race really relaxed him. Of course, his ease stemd largely from his own skill.

Whoosh, whoosh.

Suddenly, an Aston Martin zood past him. At the sa ti, the crowd began to shout, even louder than when they had welcod Jack.

“Racing Queen, Racing Queen, Racing Queen.” The crowd cheered below, and Ye Shikai realized this was Han Ruoyao’s car. No wonder the cheers—she was the star of tonight.

Han Ruoyao stepped out of the car, wearing an exquisite mask to conceal her identity. The crowd roared, and security guards worked hard to hold them back.

Han Ruoyao turned towards Ye Shikai, her lips curving into a tiny smile. He nodded in response, and with just a glance, Han Ruoyao understood Ye Shikai’s intention.

“Welco, Jack. Since you’re challenging , I’m sure you know the rules here.” Han Ruoyao, not showing any signs of weakness, stood confidently before Jack.

“Of course, the loser leaves their car.” Jack said casually, not seeming to care, “My car is worth 23 million. If I lose, I’ll give it to the racing queen. However, if I win, I wonder if I could spend a lovely night with you.”

Jack’s audacious words stirred up the crowd, his ntion of spending a night was understood by all. Ye Shikai seethed with anger; he didn’t mind the open-mindedness of foreigners, but setting sights on Han Ruoyao was unacceptable. No wonder Jack had traveled so far; his target all along was Han Ruoyao.

“You haven’t even seen my face, yet you want to spend it with ? Is Mr. Jack really this impulsive?” Han Ruoyao replied, unfazed and sharp-tongued.

“It’s a man’s intuition. We’re both racers with similar interests, and I have a hunch that the racing queen must be a beauty.” Jack flashed a cunning smile.

“Well, let’s see about your skills then.” Han Ruoyao smiled faintly behind her mask and entered her car. Jack appeared confident too, seemingly assuming his professional skills gave him an edge.

“The race begins in three minutes, take your positions.”

The track here wasn’t wide, only accommodating two cars abreast. Han Ruoyao and Jack’s cars were in the lead. Ye Shikai, having registered last, was at the back, unnoticed compared to the others; he had no “cheering squad,” and few knew him there.

Three, two, one, go.

With the green light, all cars lunged forward. Ye Shikai didn’t plan on letting spoiled rich kids waste his ti. He wanted to see if Jack posed a threat to Han Ruoyao. If Jack was determined, perhaps so “small tricks” were possible.

Ye Shikai drove the Lamborghini, executing a perfect drift at the first corner to overtake three cars. A slow start didn’t matter; this was a mountain road with nurous bends. The further they progressed, the more turns there were; that’s where technique truly shone.

Jack sped forward, with Han Ruoyao closely following. Being a professional driver, Jack’s modified car boasted excellent power and performance. Once in front, he deliberately blocked Han Ruoyao’s passing route, evidently attempting to hold her back.
