Killing Thorgan was a decision Simon never wanted to make. It was a decision that stirred the waves that ford in his heart when he decided to kill Pellin’s child.

Simon could not deny the fact that Thorgan was the only demon he was close to in the entire demon realm.

He could be regarded as his friend, and the feeling of having a stubborn friend was sothing he truly enjoyed having.

Giving Thorgan his complete trust was a different matter, but the companionship Thorgan brought was like a ray of light in his dark and lonely world.

He was not an antisocial person by nature, but everything he had gone through had changed him. Though he knew he also had to beco social to gain so benefits.

And Thorgan was the first person he decided to beco ’close’ to.

He could also not deny the fact that he had thought of killing Thorgan so that he could devour him and possibly gain his talents and extrely high shadow affinity.

However, he chose not to do so because it would lead to more troubles for him down the road.

Besides, with his current proficiency of Devour, it was not certain that he’d be able to obtain Thorgan’s shadow affinity and talents.

So, why kill Thorgan and bring potential problems his way?

It was just not worth it.

But now?

Simon had no choice.

Thorgan had seen too much. He had seen way too much.

The Chaos Blade, Chaos Wraps, Chaos Fla, Devour, and even the Sword Daemon’s mask.

He had seen every single thing, and the only secret he had left which Thorgan had no knowledge of was that he was actually a reincarnated human.

And for Simon, Thorgan had to die.

The betrayals he faced from his friends in his past life and his mother in this life made him not to trust anybody.

He just could not.

Also, one of the main reasons why his past comrades could kill him despite being a Demi-God was because they knew all his secrets.

They knew every skill, item, and technique he had.

They knew everything, and they countered every single thing he unleashed.

How could he win against a group of individuals who had complete knowledge on him but he had an incomplete knowledge about them?

To win a battle, especially against a formidable foe, knowing everything about the enemy would drastically increase one’s chances of winning the battle.

And his traitorous friends won.

A lesson Simon learned from his last battle on Earth was that he must keep so of his cards no matter what. Even to those he completely trusts.

He paid the price for not doing this, and the price was his life.

After experiencing this, Simon knew that no matter what, he would never be able to sleep well at night as long as Thorgan was alive.

He had exposed everything because he was completely unaware of Thorgan’s presence, and this was a huge weakness he couldn’t let go.

The chances that Thorgan had shown every single skill and ability he possessed was low, and even if he had, Simon would never believe Thorgan had shown everything he had.

Even if he told Thorgan to show him all the skills he had, if he forced Thorgan to show him all his abilities through a spar or a battle, or if he also chose to spy on Thorgan, Simon would still never believe that Thorgan was showing every ability he had.

His current paranoid nature would never give him peace of mind, and it was not sothing Simon could live with.

All the betrayals he went through changed him, and despite the fact that a tiny part of him was telling him to trust Thorgan and believe in him, Simon turned a deaf ear to it.

This was how he trusted his friends, and they betrayed him.

This was how he trusted his mother and she betrayed him.

Once bitten, twice shy, thrice bitten, sha on .

He had faced one too many betrayals from people he absolutely never expected, and though he knew that he would most likely still be betrayed by those he trusted in the future, it would not shake his heart so much anymore.

Maybe Thorgan would have kept quiet about his secrets. Maybe Thorgan would have never betrayed him. Maybe Thorgan would have been a real friend.

Maybe...

But this were all maybes. Not facts and reality.

Once again, he trusted his friends with his full heart, and they betrayed him.

Besides, Thorgan was a demon who had no problems seeing him kill a child.

What assurance did this give Simon that Thorgan would not be like his mother and friends, and would not betray him?

Thorgan knew too much, and he needed to go.

He needed to die for Simon’s peace of mind.

That was the truth of it all.

"B-b-brother... Why?"

Thorgan struggled to speak through his bloodied lips, and in his eyes was still the light of confusion, shock, and disbelief.

Simon released a sigh, then he drew out the Chaos Blade from Thorgan’s heart.

"You’re still calling brother even now? I’ve told you ever since, stop calling brother."

Thorgan staggered forward, then he fell to his knees and coughed out more blood, causing a puddle of blood to form beneath him.

"W-w-why? I never did anything to you."

Simon raised a brow. "Like I said, you know too much, and I’ve been betrayed one too many tis. Your death was certain the mont you ca out of my shadow."

Thorgan remained silent for a mont, then he chuckled while still coughing out blood.

"I see. So you never saw as a brother, cause a brother would never kill another brother. Especially by stabbing them in the back."

Simon’s gaze beca deep and dark, then he closed his eyes and his lips curled up in a mocking manner.

"Even a mother can betray their child, what more a brother doing to another brother?"

Thorgan did not stop chuckling, and in the next mont, Simon’s pupils constricted as he saw that Thorgan’s shadow rose and covered him in a cocoon before sinking into another shadow that suddenly ford on the ground.

"I’ll never forget and forgive you, brother. I’ll never forgive you." Thorgan turned and stared at Simon with a gaze filled with coldness, fury, sadness, pain, and imnse hate.
