Once again, the academy and clan had stories and rumors to tell.

Friends gossiped with friends.

Boyfriends gossiped with girlfriends.

n gossiped with whores.

Male and female demons gossiped and laughed amongst themselves in bars.

So many mbers of the Shadowgrave Clan spoke about the battle that occured on the causeway of the academy.

A battle involving over hundred demons was not a battle that could be ignored even if it was a battle between Archfiends.

The First Years also spoke about what happened and they all had questions and assumptions.

Many were angry at the Vipers Nest, Stone Crushers, and Black Thorns for bullying them and nearly extorting them.

However, many had questions regarding Simon.

Although Simon technically ’saved’ them, none of them was foolish enough to thank him or believe that he was not a part of the bullying and extortion.

Only a fool would believe that Simon saved them when he and the Iron Fangs jumped from underneath the causeway at the exact mont they were about to send their rits.

Though they didn’t have the specifics and it seed like the three gangs were used and fooled by Simon, it did not change how they felt toward the three gangs and even the Second Years as a whole.

First, it was the Iron Fangs.

Now, the three gangs.

Since the Second Years were so incompetent to the point that a re First Year slave could use them to do his bidding, then they’d show the Second Years that they were better and more talented.

To many of the First Years, the only reason why the Second Years were able to defeat them is because they were Archfiends.

They believed that they were on the sa level, forgetting that the Second Years have more training and experience than them.

However, this would not be the case because the instructors would begin to see a rise in the attitude, seriousness, and desire of the First Years in their classes and training.

anwhile, so were beginning to wonder why every single day of the academy was so...lively.

Not even a week had passed and so many things had happened.

Although they were curious, they did not mind since it ant that the academy was even more lively than normal.

And this was all due to a single sixteen year old boy with the mind of a Demi-God.

As for Tibat, Belafar, and Agramormos...they were all sent ssages through their Grave Marks.

They were to go back to the academy for questioning and investigation.

At the end of the day, they would be punished heavily for two reasons.

The first is because of the destruction they caused to the causeway.

The money that was required to fix all the damages that was done to the causeway of the academy was taken from the accounts of the three leaders and all the mbers of the three gangs.

And the money was not small in the slightest. It was in the tens of thousands.

The second reason why they were punished is because they excessively extorted their juniors.

Unfortunately for Tibat, her greed and decision to ask Jorra to pay five thousand rits was heard by the academy officials...unknown to her.

Another news that nearly sent Tibat, Agramormos, and Belafar into coma was the fact that their gang mbers failed to kill the slaves who tricked them.

Tibat was so shocked by this news from Baddon since it should not be the case in the slightest.

There were other Initiates who had the slave status like Simon, but they were not many.

Majority were Second Years and very few were Third Years. Even in Simon’s class, there were other Initiates with the slave status but they were trying to be low-key and Simon did not care about them at all.

However, this was not Tibat’s concern.

She knew that there was no way Simon was able to gather all the slave initiates to be decoys for him, which ant that the slaves that acted as decoys were worthless weaklings of the clan.

So, how did thirty of their gang mbers lose to a bunch of slaves?!

Tibat, Agramormos, and Belafar were extrely baffled by this.

But when they heard the statents their gang mbers gave them, they couldn’t believe their ears.

A girl.

A single female Initiate that wore a plain white mask with no mouth hole or eye hole.

And this female Initiate was a Supre Fiend and a First Year.

She was... Sunless.

The three leaders knew Sunless because she was now the first placed Initiate among the First Years, but they didn’t know much about her because she was low-key and did not draw attention to herself like Simon.

But they couldn’t understand several things.

How could Sunless, a re First Year and a Fiend, defeat thirty Archfiends?

And why was she there in the first place?

Why was she protecting the slaves?

The first question was answered by the beaten and embarrassed gang mbers.

Sunless used a bow and two daggers to fight, and she was extrely talented in fighting with both weapons.

To them, it was like she had been trained right from birth.

But what truly made her to win were chaos runes.

Sunless was a chaos rune master, and she was also not a low level chaos rune master.

This was the main reason why she won against thirty Archfiends.

She caught them off guard, acted like a true assassin, attacked from the shadows, and used chaos runes to disrupt, defend, and attack the gang mbers.

There’s a reason why she offered to teach Simon chaos runes, and it’s because she’s good at it.

As for the question on why she was with the slaves?

Well, the answer was simple.

That was one of the things Simon requested of her in the chaos runes class.

He actually told her to help him with two things.

The first is to ask Jorra and rath to spar with her all so that many of their classmates would choose to watch the spar instead of leaving the academy since they finished earlier than expected.

The second is for her to protect the slaves he had already placed in the location he gave the three gang leaders.

As for how he knew if she’d be able to protect the slaves?

He didn’t.

It was all a test to him.

He wanted to see how strong she was and he wanted her to expose so of her abilities.

And well, it worked out to a certain extent.

Or to be more precise...it worked out just like he wanted.
