Simon was a little bit disappointed when he heard the defensive and offensive ntal techniques Instructor Aphon gave them.
Although it was already ntioned that the techniques were only basic ntal techniques, he expected...more.
’Demons are generally more advanced in matters related to the mind compared to humans because they have a deeper foundation on the path of power.’
’But at the end of the day, the mind path has a lot of disadvantages and those disadvantages are why I did not focus so much on the ntal techniques.’
One might believe that ntal attacks were very powerful attacks because it was subtle and it mainly attacked the mind.
However, this was not actually the case.
ntal attacks were actually double-edged swords.
Take for example, if two equal Fiends were fighting, and one decided to use ntal attacks as his or her main source of attacks, the chances of the Fiend winning is actually below average.
When one uses ntal attacks, they also use up their ntal energy, and using their ntal energy also ans that they were rapidly exhausting their minds.
And the lower the volu of one’s ntal energy, ironically, the more difficult it would be to think and even conjure ntal offensive techniques or ntal defensive techniques.
Unless one had a unique sea of consciousness like Simon or unless their race was suited for the ntal path, focusing on ntal techniques was actually not the wisest decision one could make.
’In my past life, I tried using ntal attacks to defeat a demon but it was extrely difficult for to do so.’
’Compared to demonic energy and aether which can be regenerated very quickly as long as it’s in the air, ntal energy can only be regenerated when one rests.’
’And the regeneration rate is slow, unless one falls into a deep sleep and unless one has a unique race that grants rapid regeneration of ntal energy.’
Simon paused his train of thoughts.
’But in this life, my sea of consciousness is different. It should be comparable to the sea of consciousness of a Greater Demon.’
’But the problem is my brain. Even if my sea of consciousness is comparable to the size of a Greater Demon, I cannot utilize all of it unless I want to completely damage my brain.’
Simon released a soft sigh that was only heard by Sunless.
’ntal attacks can be my trump card in case I want to kill or escape from a Greater Demon. But I’ll need a stronger offensive ntal technique if I want it to be a trump card.’
’I guess I’ll need to buy one.’
After organizing his thoughts about the mind path, he was actually satisfied and pleased.
Why?
Because he now had a new trump card.
There was sothing many might not have realized, but he has actually been walking on a very dangerous tightrope.
Because of his decision to not act low-key and to not hide how strong he was, the enemies he would begin to face very soon would no longer be weaklings like his classmates, the failures of the Second Years, and the mbers or leaders of re gangs.
Very soon, so would begin to place his strength amongst the elites of the Archfiends of the academy or the clan itself, and they would begin to take note of his abilities.
They would eventually realize his exceptional control over his demonic energy, his exceptional battle talent, and his high physical capabilities.
His only trump cards were the Chaos Blade, the Chaos Wraps, and the Chaos Flas.
But he couldn’t expose these trump cards as he wished.
However, a trump card like a powerful offensive ntal technique would not draw too much attention.
’If questions are asked, they’ll just assu that I have a determined ntality.’
Simon’s lips curled up into a smile, then he shifted his attention back to Instructor Aphon who was explaining the basic ntal cultivation technique.
"To perform the Wave Regulation Technique is actually very simple but also harmful."
"You’ll need to form a waves or waves across your sea of consciousness, then slam the wave or waves back into your sea."
"Depending on the size of wave you create, you might suffer either a mild headache or headache that would make you unconscious for days."
Many of the first years gulped.
Instructor Aphon snapped his fingers, and runes appeared on the table of each Initiate.
Simon looked down, and he saw a grey book appear in front of him.
"That is the Wave Regulation Technique. Make sure to go through it thoroughly before you practice the cultivation technique."
So of the Initiates began to look through the book out of pure curiosity.
Simon did the sa, but he didn’t spend up to five seconds looking through it before he stopped.
Instructor Aphon’s voice drew the attention of the distracted Initiates back to him.
"Whenever you perform the Wave Regulation Technique, you are exhausting your ntal energy and putting pressure on your brain."
"What you are doing is basically exercising your brain and sea of consciousness in a... physical manner."
"If you practice this technique diligently, you would experience a rise in your sea of consciousness, a rise in your ntal energy recovery rate, and a rise in your control over your ntal energy."
The eyes of many Initiates brightened, but Simon still had an indifferent expression behind his mask.
Unlike the others who were taking the words of their instructor at face value, he was not.
He had gone through the book, and he knew that the incrents one would experience if they practiced this technique was not just worth it...in his eyes at least.
’Hmm... It’s kind of funny how in this life, I’ll have to focus on other paths I did not want to even focus on in my past life.’
’The runic path and the mind path. Because of the chaos wraps, I’ve not been able to get rain using the sword at all.’
’I might even have to focus on the fist path till I can either get rid of the chaos wraps or till I can use the chaos blade without fear.’
’... How annoying.’
