’I need to find a lieutenant, captain, or commander as soon as possible since I’m on a ti limit. But who is the closest superior I can find?’

’And where are my classmates?’

He looked around, then he saw one of his classmates running away from a Bulwark demon about a hundred ters from his position.

The boy was no longer wearing his mask, and terror could be seen on his face as he escaped for his life.

Unfortunately for him, he was a re Fiend and the Bulwark demon was an Archfiend.

The Bulwark caught up to him and crushed half of his body with a large club.

Simon indifferently looked away. He placed his right hand on his chin, the sound of the chaos around him fading into the background.

’If I were a commander... where would I stay?’

’The west gate is where majority of the forces of the clan are staying. So, the chances of a lieutenant, captain, or commander staying there is high.’

’However...’

He looked in the direction of the west gate, and his sky-blue eyes flashed.

Because he was closer to the western wall, he could see more clearly compared to the others areas of the bastion.

’The battle there is extrely intense. Majority of the demons there are Archfiends, and they’re using their chaos.’

’It’s too dangerous for to go there.’

He shook his head, then he looked at the northern watchtower.

It was partially destroyed, and there were silhouettes inside and outside the tower.

’There.’

His eyes flickered.

’The western wall is too dangerous. The eastern wall has a higher concentration of coordinated Bulwark demons, it’s far more dangerous.’

’The southern wall is still completely intact and there seems to be a signal caster in the southern wall. Don’t let risk it.’

’There should be a lieutenant, captain, or commander at the northern wall. That place is the best location for from the little information I have.’

He exhaled softly.

The mont he made his decision, he moved.

He crouched slightly, then he vanished from the rooftop.

A faint blur shot across the broken structures as Simon moved from one rooftop to another. His movents were light, controlled, and almost silent.

He did not rush blindly.

Every leap he made was calculated.

Every landing was precise.

However, below him was chaos.

As he was running on the roof of a building, he saw one of his classmates sprinting through a narrow street.

His breathing was extrely rough.

Behind him, a Bulwark demon ran after him, her heavy steps cracking the ground beneath her feet.

The Initiate turned sharply into an alley, only to freeze.

Another Bulwark stood there, his arms folded and a cruel grin on his chiseled stone face.

"Shit-!"

The Initiate cursed, but the sound was cut short.

Simon didn’t look twice.

The sound of bone crushing and blood splattering echoed in the alley.

Another corpse was added to the other corpses in the alley.

Further ahead, two Initiates moved together, their backs pressed against a broken wall.

Simon’s ears twitched as he heard their conversation.

"Did you find anyone?"

"No. And these things. How the hell are we supposed to kill them?! Blades don’t work on them! They’re fucking monsters!"

"Forget killing. Forget the reward. Just survive."

A pulse of red light flickered in the distance. Simon’s eyes shifted briefly toward the southern tower, then he looked at where the red light flickered to.

’The northern tower?’ He furrowed his brows slightly.

As soon as he had this thought, one of the Initiates suddenly dashed out, attempting to cross the street.

Boom!

A massive figure dropped from above with a massive sledgehamr.

The ground cracked, and beneath the Bulwark demon’s sledgehamr lay a mixture of blood, flesh, and bones.

The Initiate was now at paste.

The second Initiate hesitated, but just for a mont.

And that mont was enough for him to lose his life.

Simon passed over them like a ghost.

He didn’t interfere and he didn’t slow down.

He ignored whatever death, scream, or chaos that was occurring below him.

As he got closer to the northern tower, so began to notice him.

He was not the only Shadowgrave assassin that was moving across rooftops. There were others, but they were unlucky and not good enough.

Those who were Archfiends or emitted stronger auras than Simon were targeted by archers or spearn from hidden locations.

Because of Sky Eye, he was able to locate enemies and even allies from afar. Whenever he saw that he was going to cross their path, he would take another path.

He slowed slightly as he landed on the edge of another rooftop.

His eyes swept across the area, and he saw a group of Bulwark demons approaching a collapsed building.

’Three Bulwarks. They’re close to . I need to get away.’

Simon looked at the collapsed building they were approaching, and he saw three of his classmates along with a Shadow Blade of the clan.

’Even though he’s a Shadow Blade, he’s not strong enough to protect you guys. And he seems to be injured too.’

One of them peeked out cautiously, but he was peeking from the wrong side of the wall.

The Bulwarks were on the other side.

"I think it’s safer here."

"Yeah...let’s just stay until ti runs out."

"This guy is injured. He’s our only hope of surviving those brutes."

Simon shook his head slightly when he heard this.

’Wrong decision.’

Just as he expected, he heard the sound of their shouts, screams along with the clash of steels and chaos.

He turned and was about to take another path, but he suddenly heard the sound of an arrow coming toward him.

He dodged it, but the mont he did, he heard a shout behind him.

"Broken Halo! Hey! Help us!"

Simon froze, and he had the urge to look at his classmates who just exposed his location.

However, he decided not to.

If he did, he would be exposing himself.

He took a step forward and was about to run away but a dagger suddenly flew toward him from the direction of his classmates and the Shadow Blade.

"Bastard! Don’t think you can run away and leave us here! Don’t forget that the instructor is watching!"

Nurous gazes instantly landed on Simon, and Simon knew that he was exposed.

He could not act ignorant anymore.

His eyes flashed with a cold light.
