Simon did not hesitate to leave after getting the permission he wanted.

He was honestly disappointed.

Everything the instructor said might have made sense and even fooled many, but not Simon.

Lay low?

Take a step back?

Sharpen his fangs?

If it was a normal scenario, doing all of that would be wise, and he knew that.

He had done that at a brief point in his past life, and it worked.

But like he said, it would be utterly foolish of him to do such a thing when he was deprived of the resources he needed to sharpen his fangs.

With all the fa, reputation, and montum he had, he had been able to make far more money than any slave his age and rank would.

However, even with everything he had done, he knew that he still needed more rits, more hell stones.

It was not enough.

If he decided to lay low and be forgotten, he would struggle and fight for agre resources.

And at the end of the day, his classmates would even overtake him in the hierarchy of the class.

He would also spend more ti in the academy and clan than he wanted to.

Laying low and choosing to hiding his abilities would be detrintal to his growth in this situation, but his current path was also very dangerous.

In fact, Simon knows that the path he was currently treading was a path that could end his life at any point in ti.

Because of this, 99% of people who happened to be in his shoes, would choose the safer path.

They would choose to work hard, train hard, put your head down, compete against your peers while hiding your abilities, gain so achievents... all in the hope of a pitiful reward.

The removal of his slave status and so applauds.

Pathetic.

Pathetic.

He found it all to be pathetic.

If he was a child, he would have fallen for this simple but clever and malicious trick from Instructor Valdin.

The truth, which Simon could see, was that Instructor Valdin and most likely the clan itself wanted him to put in his best while in the constraints of their rules and expectations.

They wanted him to try so hard and to be so desperate to remove his slave status and change his life for the ’better.’

They wanted him to be willing to take on extrely dangerous missions all so that his slave status could be removed.

And there was one thing he was certain of.

His slave status might never be removed.

Never.

Zaglur had told him how important the Devourer’s blood essence was to the Shadowgrave Clan.

If he wanted to have his slave status removed, he would need to accomplish sothing completely unbelievable and work himself the bones.

His slave status was not like that of other slaves.

If there was a ranking or hierarchy, his would be at the top.

On his first day in the academy and after Instructor Valdin explained their classes and a few things about the academy to them, he began to understand what these demons wanted from slaves like him.

The system was designed to act as chains that encouraged slaves like him to work very hard, all so that they could earn so pitiful pennies as a reward.

Because he had not spent so much ti in the academy, he had not actually experienced this system in its full capacity.

His conversation with Instructor Valdin was just the first, but he was sure that it would not be last.

’If I’m right, and Instructor Valdin said all of that with the intention of making to ’behave’ and ’submit’ like they want to, then I should take it that he might be in one of the three factions, or that he might be in support of the factions I’m going against.’

’Worst case scenario... The upper echelons, and most importantly, the academy head is also supporting the factions or is actually backing the factions.’

’Sigh... My goodness. I hated politics when I was on earth. I left anything politics, and trusted my friends to handle majority of it. All I cared about was swinging the sword and ensuring that my people were safe, well fed, and living well.’

’Now, I have to plan and start thinking of so many possibilities and scenarios. How things have changed for in this second life of mine.’

Simon shook his head, then he focused on leaving the building.

To his frustration, the building was not a bungalow but a large building with many other offices for the instructors.

He had to climb sets of stairs to leave the building.

While Simon was on his way out of the building, Instructor Valdin had his legs crossed and was resting his head on his fist.

His eyes were not visible, but they were closed.

He was in deep thought, then he released a disappointed sigh.

"Tell him that Broken Halo seems to have figured out the system. He refuses to be chained by it."

Three seconds after he said this, a shadow in the corner moved and went out through the window.

Instructor Valdin released another sigh of disappointnt.

"All you had to do was agree to lay low, apologize, and stop all the chaos you’ve been causing up and down. Your life would no longer be in so much danger like right now."

"Your arrogance and self confidence would be your downfall, Broken Halo."

Instructor Valdin shook his head, then he walked to his window and looked through it.

He saw Simon’s figure stepping out of the teaching staff building.

"Let’s see how you would cope with what cos your way from now on."

anwhile, Simon frowned and looked back at the window of Instructor Valdin.

With Hollow Sky Eye, he could clearly see the face of the Instructor.

He glanced at him for a mont, before turning away and continuing his walk.

’So, that hidden shadow in his office left after I walked out of his office... Hmm... It could an a lot of things, but we’ll take things one step at a ti for now.’

Just as he had this thought, he received a notification from his Grave Mark, and his eyes flickered.

’One of the instructors has accepted to guide on the fist path.’
