Vivian’s POV
For the longest ti, Vivian had thought that the reason she had let Bryce get away with treating her so badly, was because he was so much better than her, so much stronger. But now as the cycle repeated, this ti with Ryan Terrell. Vivian was realizing that that had not been true.
Bryce had gotten away with so much, not because he had been stronger than her. But because Vivian had been the weakest link.
She was the one who hung on too long in relationships. The one who clung tightly even if the relations were supposed to be casual ones, and that was currently being proven to her.
She knew that Ryan had a woman that he was with. Soone from the sa world as him, soone who was better suited for everything that was Ryan Terrell. It would have been better for her to let him go. Yet Vivian was still clinging to him.
She was so desperate for affection that she was willing to be the other woman, sothing that she had never thought herself capable of.
Vivian knew the pain of being cheated on, but to feel a little bit of Ryan’s care, she was willing to be his side piece. To pretend like she was unaware that she was the second woman in his life, that thought weighed on her as she dined with Ryan in his penthouse. The al that his private chef had made for them was exquisite, but Vivian could barely taste it.
She was far too busy choking on guilt and sha to enjoy it. It was a miracle that none of the food and wine got stuck in her throat given how heavy her guilt was.
When the al ended and Ryan led her to the bedroom, the two of them taking their clothes off once in there, and the feeling of sha intensified.
