Shane Caldwell cursed as he started hitting her, "Who the hell do you think you are, barging into a school to cause a scene! The teacher assigned these seats based on class rank. And who the hell is Cara Preston? What gives her the right to sit next to ?"
The mont he threw a punch, everyone, including Vera Xavier, was stunned.
Although Shane Caldwell ca from a wealthy family and was a bit vain, he was usually gentle and polite. It was shocking to see him get so violent.
In truth, he wasn’t normally this aggressive. The main reason was that he had tried and failed to ask Vera Xavier out the day before, and had even been put in his place by Nathaniel Nathan. The more he stewed on it at ho, the angrier he beca, until he was bursting with pent-up rage. Today, seeing Rona Langdon so arrogantly berating Vera Xavier was the last straw, and he just snapped.
Rona Langdon imdiately shrieked, "Murder!"
After screaming, she didn’t go after Shane Caldwell. Instead, she reached out to claw at Vera Xavier.
Vera Xavier knew exactly what her mother was like. She imdiately lunged forward, feigning to protect Rona Langdon, but in reality, she slamd into her with great force. She knocked her straight to the ground, leaving Rona completely stunned.
Vera Xavier shouted, "Don’t hit my mom!"
Her shout imdiately revealed Rona Langdon’s identity to everyone, and their gazes toward Vera Xavier softened with sympathy.
After all, having a mother like that was clearly a nightmare.
Just then, the class bell rang. Cooper walked in, textbooks tucked under his arm. Seeing the scene, he imdiately pulled everyone apart, and the entire group was marched to the principal’s office.
On the way to the principal’s office, Rona Langdon was a whirlwind of curses, spewing all sorts of vile things. She threatened to tear Shane Caldwell to pieces, then turned her attention to Vera Xavier, insulting her with a creative stream of abuse.
Cara Preston found her mother’s behavior utterly humiliating and tried to keep her distance. But Rona unexpectedly grabbed Cara and pulled her close. "In my heart, only Cara is worthy of being my daughter! Vera Xavier, with your crude personality, you haven’t even shed the stench of the countryside. You’re completely unworthy of being my daughter! And you," she snarled at the boy who had defended that worthless wretch, Vera, "you actually dared to hit ? I’ll sue you into bankruptcy!"
Cara Preston: "..."
Vera Xavier: "..."
Shane Caldwell: "..."
’Sue his family into bankruptcy over a single punch? Heh, bring it on! If I were afraid of you, my na wouldn’t be Caldwell!’
Cara Preston couldn’t take it anymore and whispered into Rona Langdon’s ear, "Mom, the boy who just hit you is Shane Caldwell. He’s the son of the deputy municipal party secretary."
Upon hearing this, Rona Langdon suddenly recalled sothing. She shot a terrified glance at Shane Caldwell, only to see his cold, gloomy expression, his refined face filled with utter disdain.
Thus, the once incredibly arrogant Rona Langdon imdiately said to Principal Gage upon entering his office, "This was all just a misunderstanding. I just rembered I have sothing to take care of at ho, so let’s just drop it!"
With that, she shot Vera Xavier a vicious glare and said, "I’ll deal with you when we get ho!"
The corner of Vera Xavier’s mouth twitched. Seeing Rona Langdon’s abnormal reaction, she suddenly recalled sothing as well, and her eyes grew cold.
Principal Gage had ntally prepared himself for every possible confrontation. After all, Rona Langdon’s reputation as a she-tiger was legendary. He never imagined she would just let it go today. It was as unbelievable as the sun rising in the west; he couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised!
