Now reading: Chapter 281: Breaking Her Arm from The CEO's Wife Is a Medical Master, a Romance novel by Moon by the West Window.

Rona Langdon had realized Vera didn’t dare to hit her in public. The discovery made her imnsely smug. She raised her massive, bear-like hand and swung it at Vera.

A murderous glint flashed in Vera’s eyes. She was about to act, but another hand, faster than hers, shot out and clamped down on Rona’s wrist like a pincer.

Vera turned her head and saw Sheldon Caldwell, a roguish air about him.

She froze, a complicated mix of emotions washing over her. In her past life, she and Sheldon had barely exchanged a word. Though he was her biological brother, he had always been cold and distant. Yet, in this life, he had actually stood up for her!

Sheldon looked coldly at Rona and said, "I guess I’ve been away from Crestfall for too long. I can’t believe I’m running into a real piece of work like you. It’s a true eye-opener!"

He had actually co here today out of boredom, planning to waylay Nathaniel Nathan. After waiting for ages without seeing Nathaniel, he spotted Vera instead. From the mont he saw her, he’d had a strange feeling she looked familiar and had been thinking of going over to say hi.

But before he got the chance, Rona had jumped out, as fierce and unreasonable as a tigress.

He had initially just wanted to watch the drama unfold, but seeing Rona’s antics made him furious. When he saw her raise a hand to Vera, he couldn’t take it anymore and leaped into action.

His grip was incredibly strong. With a slight twist, he sent a jolt of pain through Rona, making her shriek, "Murder! He’s murdering !"

Given Rona’s earlier, shockingly aggressive display, she had already incurred the wrath of the crowd. Now, not a single person stepped forward to break up the fight.

Sheldon said coldly, "Murder? You ignorant sow, you call this murder? Maybe I should live up to the na and just twist your head right off!"

He had been on many military operations and taken down nurous criminals. He truly had blood on his hands.

Anyone who has actually killed before has a certain murderous glint in their eyes when they get truly vicious.

He shot Rona a sidelong glance, and she felt as if ice water had just been poured over her from head to toe. Her whole body trembled, and an imnse fear rose from deep within her. She stamred, "You dare!"

Then she turned to the crowd of onlookers. "Can’t you see he’s trying to kill ? Call the police, quickly!"

The large crowd of onlookers simply scoffed. Call the police? As if. A woman like her deserved a beating. They were silently cheering him on.

Rona’s hand throbbed with pain, and she instantly understood that her usual antics wouldn’t work on this man. Lacking any real conviction, she snapped, "I’m disciplining my own daughter, it’s none of your damn business! Let go!"

Sheldon looked at her with utter contempt. He was a soldier. Rona might be a shrew, but she wasn’t a criminal. He couldn’t exactly beat her up in public. If he couldn’t hit her, then he had to let her go. But the thought of just letting this vile woman off the hook left a bad taste in his mouth.

Just then, Vera shouted, "Don’t hurt my mom!"

With that, she charged forward from the side, ramming straight into Sheldon’s hand that was gripping Rona’s wrist. With a sickening CRACK!, Rona’s wrist broke.

Sheldon: "..."

’Hey, girl, you were right next to a second ago. How’d you suddenly get so far away? Don’t tell you did that just to get a running start... to break Rona’s wrist?’

Rona let out a scream like a pig being slaughtered, the sound echoing across the entire testing grounds.
