Alistair Forrest had already noticed how clever she was—highly observant and capable of making the right judgnts and choices.

He wasn’t surprised that she had figured out his identity. The corner of his mouth lifted slightly. "That’s . I’m very rich. If you’re willing to be my girlfriend, I can let you go on a shopping spree every single day."

"Are you out of your mind?" Although Vera Xavier was grateful he had just gotten her out of a bind, she couldn’t say she was impressed by his personality.

’Judging by his behavior, he’s most likely the spoiled heir of so major jewelry business,’ Vera mused. ’He probably thinks that since he helped out of a jam, he’s earned the right to get flirty and try to pick up.’

’He’s just so blunt about it. Does he really think he’s made of money and that everyone just loves him on sight?’

She turned to lead Jack Judd and Aaron Cheney upstairs, not expecting that guy to say, "That’s right, I am sick! And you’re my cure!"

Vera Xavier felt like she was being harassed. She turned her head slightly to give him a serious look. "Listen, kid. Keep flirting with your elders like this, and I might just slip you a packet of poison to send you off to et your ancestors."

With that, she turned and walked away, but Alistair Forrest only chuckled softly.

Jack Judd glared at Alistair Forrest. "Where did this moron co from? How dare he hit on my sister-in-law! If my brother was here, he’d beat you so bad you’d be picking your teeth up off the floor!"

Aaron Cheney chid in, "Exactly! Hitting on a married woman in broad daylight? He must have a screw loose!"

Hearing this, Vera Xavier raised an eyebrow. She didn’t mind at all being labeled as Nathaniel Nathan’s wife. ’If these two want to stick that label on , let them!’

Alistair Forrest was rather surprised. Vera Xavier clearly looked like nothing more than a beautiful seventeen or eighteen-year-old girl. ’Can it really be as my grandmother said? Are parents on the mainland really so crazy that they marry off their daughters the mont they co of age?’

He clicked his tongue twice. "TSK TSK." He asked the bodyguard behind him, "What do you think about that girl from earlier becoming your young mistress?"

One bodyguard answered dutifully, "She’s beautiful, capable, and has a strong personality. She is a worthy match for you, Young Master. The only pity is, she doesn’t like you."

The other bodyguard added, "Young Master, this isn’t Marinus. If you hit on girls this openly here, you’re going to get beaten up."

The first bodyguard chid in, "Exactly. And from what I saw, she doesn’t have a good temper. You don’t want her to beat you to a pulp, do you, Young Master?"
