Vera Xavier simply couldn’t imagine what it would be like to stay in the sa room with a shirtless Nathaniel Nathan, so she quickly said, "Wait a second."
After saying that, she opened the door, slipped downstairs to fetch a basin of water, and grabbed her towel to bring up with her.
Luckily, Rona Langdon was so mad at her that she had locked herself in her room. Cara Preston, not daring to get on her bad side at a ti like this, was also quietly staying in her own room, so Vera didn’t run into anyone.
As soon as she was back inside, she placed the basin on the floor and locked the door. When she turned around, she saw Nathaniel Nathan watching her.
She said, a bit shyly, "I didn’t know you were coming, so I don’t have a towel for you. Just make do with mine to wipe your face for now."
Nathaniel Nathan, who had been planning to be a little shaless, didn’t take the towel she offered after wringing it out. Instead, he said, "You wipe it for ."
Vera Xavier froze for a second. He then quickly ca up with an excuse for himself: "I have an injury on my head. I’m worried I’ll aggravate it."
Vera Xavier glanced at his face, which was glistening with sweat, and could only resign herself to wiping it for him.
Her movents were gentle, and he was clearly enjoying it. After she finished wiping his face, he added with perfect composure, "My body is sweaty, too."
’He’s the living embodint of "give an inch, take a mile,"’ Vera Xavier thought. ’They’re only just starting to test the waters of getting along, and he’s already ordering her to do this and that. If this keeps up, will he think he owns the place in the future?’
’You absolutely can’t let a man get spoiled!’
So she tossed the towel into the basin. "You’re not injured anywhere else, so wipe it yourself! I have to study!"
Nathaniel Nathan’s brow furrowed slightly. Afraid she had provoked the Great Demon King, she quickly said, "The monthly exams are this Friday, and this test is really important to . You’re so great, you wouldn’t hold back, would you?"
She finished speaking and gave him a pitiful look. He had absolutely zero resistance to that kind of gaze from her. Feeling a bit awkward, he deliberately used an icy tone to say, "If you don’t understand sothing, ask ."
"Thank you!" Vera Xavier said sincerely.
And so, Vera Xavier dove into her review. She had always been diligent, and once she was invested in a task, she would beco completely absorbed. After she quickly finished reviewing her sophomore language arts material, she gave a big stretch.
Because she stretched so widely and her room was so small, she leaned back right into a warm body. She jumped, startled. Only when she turned her head and saw Nathaniel Nathan’s face did she rember he was still there. She quickly asked, "You haven’t gone back yet?"
"You brought water to wash my face and body. Wasn’t that an invitation for to stay the night?" Nathaniel Nathan asked.
Vera Xavier’s thoughts were in a knot. ’Wait, didn’t I bring him water to wash his face because he was hot? How did that suddenly beco asking him to stay the night?’
Nathaniel Nathan glanced at the Rolex on his wrist. "It’s already one o’clock. Let’s get so sleep. You can’t rush your studies."
After speaking, he casually opened his backpack, took out a set of pajamas to change into, then pulled back the covers and lay down. His movents were so practiced it was as if the bed had always been his.
Vera Xavier was dumbstruck. In her mind, Nathaniel Nathan had always been cold and unapproachable, and normally quite haughty. But tonight, he exuded the air of a complete scoundrel from start to finish.
