"Oh, still quite arrogant, think my words aren’t pleasant?"
It seed that seeing Lin Guang had no intention of replying, the person beca even more enthusiastic with sarcasm: "Kid, being too high-profile without the corresponding strength, that’s called not deserving the position. Don’t think that just because you’ve beaten a few commoners from No. 1 High School, it amounts to anything..."
He enthusiastically pointed his thumb at the three people sitting on the sofa behind him, then pointed at Lin Guang, Lv Rui and her sister, and Wu Zhiwen: "Compared to the big nas from the prominent families, you amount to nothing."
Before Lin Guang could react, Lv Jiangxue squinted her eyes and stood up, mockingly saying, "Liu Buhui, are you addicted to being soone else’s dog?"
"Being a dog?"
For a mont, an uneasy expression seed to flash across Liu Buhui’s face, but he quickly recovered and grinned:
"It’s you who fails to see the circumstances. Commoners should act like commoners, not knowing how to restrain yourselves from offending soone important!"
This sentence, Liu Buhui deliberately raised his voice, with a hint of obsequiousness in his tone.
Lin Guang looked past him, and among the three on the sofa, two maintained a casual expression, while the boy with the slanted bangs showed a sowhat pleased look.
"Heh." Wu Zhiwen also got up and sneered contemptuously, "Your strength isn’t much, but your skill at making excuses to self-soothe is top-notch. Is this how you persuaded the principal? After all, it’s been a while since No. 8 High School has achieved anything."
Wu Zhiwen’s verbal skills were impressive, and he wasn’t exactly a commoner either. Liu Buhui didn’t seem too eager to argue with him and imdiately shifted his focus to Lin Guang. He glanced at Lin Guang and Vishdair, grinning mockingly:
"It’s just a contract with a magical beast. Looking at the way you release it every day and dress it up as a human, don’t tell you really see a Terran Demon, such a lowly magical beast, as a person. That’s really funny—"
As soon as he uttered those words, he suddenly froze.
Because Lin Guang was suddenly staring at him.
Those eyes were as calm as an ancient well, yet he suddenly felt alarm bells ringing in his heart, as if he were drowning, unable to move a muscle.
It was at this mont.
Before anyone could react, a hand cannon with a glowing barrel erged from the side, pressing directly against his forehead.
The high temperature dispersed in the air, imdiately sizzling.
The scorching pain instantly woke him up, and he fell onto the carpet with a thud: "Ahhh!! What are you doing!"
"Stop!"
The attendant nearby couldn’t stay idle any longer and rushed over: "No conflict is allowed here."
Vishdair, who had stood up, coldly looked at the attendant but showed no intention of putting away the gun—because Lin Guang hadn’t signaled her to stop.
"This guest, conflicts are not permitted here, please retract your Spirit Beast!"
Liu Buhui shouted frantically: "What are you doing! Have you really gone mad!"
Lin Guang extended his hand, signaling Vishdair to put away the gun and step back, then watched as the other staggered to his feet.
He looked into the other’s eyes, calmly saying, "Sorry, there might have been so misunderstanding between us."
"I always resolve grievances between Spirit Masters in a Spirit Master’s way."
"If you have any dissatisfaction with , why not have a match as soon as we exit the Secret Realm? No restrictions on rules."
"Sure, I’ll oblige! Do you think I’m afraid of you?"
Liu Buhui touched the skin on his head, peeled by the heat, gritting his teeth, his eyes red: "You? Do you really think you’re strong? Let tell you, if I hadn’t held back my Spirit Beast, you wouldn’t even..."
He suddenly froze in place.
Lin Guang’s characteristic sunny smile appeared on his face, complenting his handso appearance, making him seem harmless.
Yet, at the sa mont, Liu Buhui felt as if he were standing naked in a freezing blizzard, the brutal polar wind rushing at him. It was the killing intent erupting from Lin Guang’s eyes, his lips gently moving, the barely audible voice reaching Liu Buhui’s ears.
"You better pray... that I don’t get the chance to break your bones one by one."
For so reason, Liu Buhui couldn’t utter even a single harsh word, trembling as he returned to his original seat, muttering phrases like "he really contracted with a magical beast" and "I think he’s definitely crazy."
His two "companions" looked at the gun-shaped burn mark on his forehead and his frightened look, showing a look of schadenfreude.
However, the trio on the sofa showed not a hint of disdain or contempt, instead, they inquired about his injury with apparent concern. The boy with the slanted bangs snapped his fingers, calling for the attendant to bring a dical kit for Liu Buhui’s treatnt, and even uttered so encouraging words.
This treatnt made Liu Buhui instantly forget the murderous intent he sensed earlier. His face turned red, he clenched his fists, secretly vowing that once out of the Secret Realm, he would definitely trample Lin Guang, this attention-seeking clown, under his feet to showcase himself well in front of the young master!
...
Not long after, the attendant shook the golden bell in his hand, ending the brief ti for idle chat.
Under the guidance of the tuxedo-clad attendant, the group arrived at the second floor of the villa, where the entrance to the Secret Realm, or rather the spatial rift, was located in one of the spacious rooms.
Though he’d seen it countless tis on TV and the internet, this was the first ti Lin Guang observed it with the naked eye.
Lin Guang found it difficult to describe the appearance of the spatial rift. If he had to, it looked like a nearly transparent glass shattering in the air, revealing the deepest darkness within, with no discernible up, down, left, or right, looking the sa from any angle.
"This is the thing."
Vishdair bared her teeth, her face full of disgust, whispering, "I accidentally fell into such a black hole, ca to this world, and got captured by that group of people."
"Then you should be grateful to it."
"..."
A subtle expression appeared on the girl’s face. She squird a little but did not refute.
The room was etched with Spirit Rune Arrays to maintain spatial stability. To save costs, two Spirit Beasts with rare Spatial Attributes were placing their Skills in the room’s corner.
Of course, even if the Arrays were destroyed, the spatial rift wouldn’t close imdiately, or even if it did close completely, there would be ways to open it again—after all, the Secret Realm is rely a part embedded within this world, not truly an Otherworld. Secret Realm explorers need not worry about getting lost in the Secret Realm forever.
Watching everyone except the attendant touch the spatial rift and vanish, Vishdair spoke again.
"By the way, what exactly did that person say earlier? I know it wasn’t anything good, but I didn’t understand it."
The silver-haired girl turned her head to look at Lin Guang, her amber eyes showing curiosity: "You’re such a goody-two-shoes, yet you released killing intent of that degree."
"..."
"Just take it as if he was insulting ."
Lin Guang didn’t say anything further. He held Vishdair’s right hand, leading her to the spatial rift, and lifted his hand to touch the unfathomable darkness.
A strong sense of dizziness suddenly overwheld him, as if soone had hit him hard with a hamr, making him involuntarily close his eyes.
Not knowing how much ti passed, the feeling of solid ground finally ca to him.
