After forming a contract with Lin Guang, perhaps influenced by the Heart of Terra, Lisa's "humanity" finally began to awaken gradually. Last night, in her sleep, she unconsciously reverted to her human form.
During her narration, tears glimred in Lisa's eyes, and her nose twitched. When she spoke of the days in the laboratory, there was obvious fear and trembling in her gaze.
But just as Lin Guang was about to comfort her, Lisa bit her lip and bravely finished recounting the most difficult part.
Lin Guang found it almost unbelievable.
Psychological shadows are not sothing that can be comforted and healed rely with comforting words. Sotis, excessive probing is akin to rcilessly reopening wounds, which could backfire. Let alone the fact that the girl in front of him seed, at most, eleven or twelve years old, not even close to being a teenager.
How could such a strong will reside within this small body to narrate all these experiences?
After listening to Lisa, Vishdair frowned tightly and cursed lowly, "Those damned things, one day I'll kill them all."
As a Sakaz, even though she had little regard for the rules, she wasn't completely devoid of empathy.
In the most chaotic parts of Kazdail, children had to scam, steal, or even kill to survive. Though they lived in confusion, they died with ease—killing would only need the victim's head to touch the ground. Such prolonged torture as Lisa experienced was indeed unsettling, even for her.
Lin Guang pursed his lips, touched his nose, and rembered that he didn't wear glasses at ho, revealing that he was not as calm inwardly as he seed outwardly.
As a human, experinting on beasts or wild Spirit Beasts in laboratories wasn't sothing that violated Lin Guang's moral compass since he, too, enjoyed the conveniences brought by technological and biological advancents. He even made significant purchases of Spirit Beast materials, which could also be considered grueso.
But Lisa wasn't a beast; she was just an extrely unlucky child.
To her, this experience was overwhelmingly heavy.
Human experintation goes without saying; it's an act against humanity. Even with the household registration system established now by Great Xia, the other party might have captured wildlings from the Wilderness. Nevertheless, it's a criminal act the authorities cannot tolerate—a line that cannot be crossed.
Unfortunately, due to the pitch-black night during her escape, Lisa doesn't rember much about the features outside the base, which probably ans they can't identify it.
Lin Guang sighed, squatted down, hugged Lisa, and gently patted her back.
"Everything is over now. It's okay, we're here for you."
"...Mm." Lisa sniffled and replied softly.
Once Lisa's emotions had settled, Lin Guang, looking into her large gold and green eyes, said gently, "My teacher is a very skilled doctor. I'd like to take you to her for a check-up."
"I'll listen to you, big brother."
Lisa nodded seriously.
It seed her personality hadn't changed, as she didn't reject going out.
Indeed.
As long as she's not in the laboratory, she shouldn't be too disturbed nor reject the outside world. After all, looking at the cloak man's diary, she road outside for more than two months once she escaped from the cage.
"Can you freely switch between human and fox form now?"
"Yes... big brother, do you want to turn back into a fox?"
Lin Guang thought for a mont and shook his head, "No need."
Vishdair understood his aning and explained, "You haven't appeared in human form in this world before, so once you transform into a human, even if those people see you, they won't recognize you as the forr fox."
She looked at Lisa, very seriously, "From now on, staying in human form in front of others is the safest way."
Lin Guang nodded in strong agreent.
More than Vishdair, Lin Guang thought deeper.
Whether Lisa wanted to fight or not, in this world, nine-tailed foxes were incredibly rare, representing noble bloodlines.
It's hard to say; you'd struggle to find a second young nine-tailed fox in Zhen Sheng City. If Lily's bodily transformations were exposed, it would be almost as if she confessed without being pressed.
"Can you change the shape of your ears and retract your tail to leave only one?"
"I'll try..."
The next mont, with a flash of light, her large ears turned upwards into smaller ones, and her eight fluffy yellow-white tails gradually disappeared, leaving one that seed sowhat lonely.
"Impressive!"
You know, even a Level 1 Eye of Omniscience and Omnipotence couldn't see through her disguise, and as her level increases, this disguise is bound to beco even more effective.
In that case, living a normal life shouldn't be much of a problem, so the alarm is pretty much lifted.
Lin Guang exhaled lightly, patted her head, and said with a smile, "Lisa, you're amazing, this should be no problem!"
Lisa blushed, and her little ears trembled as she nodded timidly.
If you must say, the scooter could technically fit three people, considering how small Lisa is, but Lin Guang didn't want to be stopped by traffic police midway, so he hired a taxi. The middle-aged driver at the wheel exuded the aura of a seasoned driver, and seeing Lin Guang with two girls with obvious non-human features got on, not even his sunglasses could conceal his astonishnt.
To reach Kaiwen's lab at the university's research building after taking the bus, it would take about 40 minutes. During this ti, Lin Guang didn't remain idle, constantly introducing new topics to blend so of the world's common knowledge and feed it to Lisa.
After entering the school, there were few people on the school bus—after all, Lin Guang was over an hour late—so they made it uneventfully with Vishdair and Lisa to the research building's entrance.
Luckily, they didn't encounter any familiar faces that would bombard them with questions.
Thinking about this, just as Lin Guang wanted to breathe a sigh of relief, he held Lisa's hand on one side and pressed the direct elevator button.
At that mont, the elevator happened to be coming down from the third floor, and soon it opened its doors.
However, the next mont, his gaze suddenly t the four eyes inside the elevator—two large and two small.
Lin Guang: "?"
The extrely familiar duo in front of him was none other than the bewildered Wang Dawei and the White Phoenix Parrot.
"New leader, new leader!"
The White Phoenix Parrot, perched on Wang Dawei's shoulder, was the first to react, spreading its wings and standing its multi-colored crest in surprise, chirping excitedly.
"Yo, Lin Guang, what a coincidence... what the hell?!"
Wang Dawei had just raised his hand when he saw the timid golden-haired, fox-eared girl standing behind Lin Guang, clutching his coat, and then glanced at Vishdair beside him, and went into a stupor.
From his perspective, at this mont, Lin Guang and Vishdair were protecting this little girl in the middle from both sides.
It looked like...
Just like a family of three!!
