Vishdair put on a band-aid in front of Lin Guang, then slipped into a loose gray T-shirt and stretched lazily.

The morning light pierced through the gaps of the blinds, transforming into beams that happened to fall on her.

As she stretched, the fabric tightened, outlining her slender waistline and full, perky curves, as if those astonishing shapes were ready to break free.

If the past version of her was a thorny, budding rose, dangerous yet beautiful, then at this mont, as she shed so of the rcenary's fierceness, the allure of a mature woman emanated like fine wine, even more intoxicating.

Her fair feet touched the warm wooden floor without a sound, the crimson nail polish resembling congealed blood pearls, adding a touch of enchantnt.

Stepping out of the living room, the aroma of food had already filled the air.

Chelina, dressed in a black-and-white maid outfit, had already prepared breakfast for four, with Lisa, her small face flushed, already eating, and Lin Guang and Vishdair sitting down at the dining table nonchalantly.

The wolf-eared maid placed a freshly heated cup of coffee in front of Lin Guang and poured a cup of hot cocoa for Vishdair, then joined them for the al.

Compared to the light-hearted days they've had, today carried a sowhat heavy atmosphere.

For Zhen Sheng City, today was a special day.

morial Day.

Twelve years ago today, the Demon Race and a beast horde invaded together, turning nearly one-fifth of Zhen Sheng City into scorched earth.

Zhen Sheng City had a population of nearly 30 million, and even though the affected areas were sparsely populated suburbs, the casualties were still nearly a million.

They all perished on the sa day.

The four of them were about to leave Zhen Sheng City, setting off for Yue Shui Province, with no one knowing what kind of journey awaited them or if they would have ti to co back.

Therefore, before setting off, there were certain things that needed to be done.

Visiting Lin Guang's parents' graves.

......

As the Flying Spirit Beast they rode crossed the city limits and flew to the outskirts connecting the wilderness and the foothills, the sky seed to change its face.

The city center was still clear under a cloudless sky, but the area where the cetery was located was, at so point, enveloped in a fitting layer of lead-gray clouds.

The August sun, which should have been scorching, was softened, losing its oppressiveness, and instead brought a hint of chill and desolation.

This overcast weather matched the mood of many of those who had co to pay their respects today.

In fact, this was a deliberate act by the Zhen Sheng City's officials.

After that disaster, every August 25th, a powerful Spirit Beast belonging to the official departnt would manipulate the weather in this area to create a solemn atmosphere—perhaps it was the handiwork of that Profound Dragon who was responsible for transporting state-level competition participants each year.

The cetery where Lin Guang's parents rested was situated on a quiet hillside, surrounded by the solemn Golden Birch Forest.

A stone path spiraled upwards, flanked by rows of neat gray-white tombstones, which appeared even colder and more somber in the overcast light.

At the entrance to the cetery stood a ten-ter-tall morial Stele.

The surface of the stele was polished to a mirror finish, yet it failed to reflect any human silhouette, displaying only the somber gray hue of the sky.

Engraved on the stele were the nas of those who slumbered in this graveyard due to the disaster twelve years ago.

They were carved with sharp strokes in a neat standard script, line upon line, forming a dense sea of words.

But this was rely a small part.

Each cetery nearby had a similar morial Stele.

However.

Perhaps because twelve years had already passed since the disaster, or perhaps because the official morial ceremony was held in the central city square, or maybe because many people chose to visit during the annual Qingming Festival, the number of people coming to pay their respects before morial Day was not as many as expected.

There was no clamor here, only the occasional crackling sound of paper money burning in tal barrels and the wailing sound of the wind passing through the birch branches.

So people dressed in somber clothes placed offerings in front of the tombstones in silence, laying down flowers and fruits, lighting incense to murmur softly in the swirling blue smoke.

Beside the entrance, there was a small shop selling incense, paper money, white chrysanthemums, and fruit pastries, among other offerings.

Lin Guang had naturally prepared everything in advance.

He led the three young ladies along a winding path paved with bluestones.

The mountain path was long, lined with tall and silent pines and cypresses, emitting the sound of ocean waves when the wind blew.

They climbed step by step, gradually moving away from the sparse crowd at the entrance, enveloped by increasing silence, accompanied solely by their footsteps and the chirping of birds in the forest.

Lin Guang hadn't visited last year.

That was when Chelina had just arrived beside him, with the Divine Heart Association, Ore Disease, and the Sea of Spirit resonance, preparing for the state competition tangled up in nurous matters.

So, he had simply burned so paper money in a corner of Haiyue District, lighting incense in front of his parents' photos.

Now.

He had co to bid farewell.

Lin Guang's steps were steady, with each step planted firmly.

On this path, untrodden for so ti, he exhibited no hesitation, as if a mory etched deep within his body guided him silently.

At every fork, he chose decisively, leading the three young ladies behind him in a determined direction up the mountain.
