Due to the rush for the wedding, the welcoming team moved much faster afterward.
By the ti they arrived in the Capital, Anning and Anqing were settled, and there were only about ten days left before Anqing and Cong Zhongbai’s wedding day.
The Luo Family also had a house in the Capital. The house was small but sufficient for the Luo Family mbers to stay in.
An Yuan brought Anning and her sisters to stay there, while Xiao Yuan stayed a few days before going to connect with so of his old friends.

They waited until Anqing was smoothly married off. After a few more days, An Yuan and Anning waited for Anqing to return before they packed their things to return to Yang City.

In the middle of the night, Zhang Yu was awakened by soone.
Opening his eyes, he saw a particularly beautiful girl pushing him.

It was the dead of night in a dilapidated temple—where did this girl co from?

The girl was scared too but still bravely advised him: "Tonight, the Ghost King is getting married and will pass through here. If they see you, your life might be in danger."

Zhang Yu didn’t trust the girl.
Who knew if she was trying to lure him out of the temple to harm him?
The girl looked determined and bit her lip before saying, "I won’t hide it from you, sir. I’m a fox fairy from the nearby mountains. I’ve just transford, and my mana is very weak. The Ghost King is very powerful, and all of us mountain spirits and ghosts must obey him. I’ve been sent to scout the wedding route, and I happened to see you. Not wanting to see you lose your life here, I ca to warn you."
Zhang Yu observed that the girl didn’t seem to be lying, and she directly admitted being a fox demon, which typically wouldn’t an harm.
Moreover, fearing the possibility of encountering the Ghost King’s procession and losing his life, he asked, "Thank you for the warning. I’d like to ask where I should hide."
After thinking for a mont, the girl said, "If you don’t mind, please follow ."
Zhang Yu considered it for a mont as the girl urged him, fearing they wouldn’t have enough ti. After making up his mind, Zhang Yu followed the girl out of the dilapidated temple.
Unfortunately for Zhang Yu, just as he exited, festive music began playing in the distance. He glanced in its direction and saw shadows of red lanterns and a procession heading their way.
"This is..."
Zhang Yu turned pale with fear.
The girl was also terrified.
She grabbed Zhang Yu and started to run.
But before they’d run far, a voice yelled from behind them: "Who’s there? Who’s in front? Co over here and help."
The girl stopped, thought a mont, and handed a bead to Zhang Yu: "Wear this; it can help mask your human presence. Stay by my side and play it by ear."
Zhang Yu nodded.
Following the girl, he turned back and coincidentally ran into the wedding procession.
Leading them was a burly man. Upon seeing Zhang Yu and the girl, he laughed: "Ah, it’s Hu Liniang. I wondered who it was! Who’s this, your little lover?"
Hu Liniang chuckled, her smile enchanting: "Not at all, he’s a brother from my clan, here to see today. I thought since he happened upon the Ghost King’s wedding, I might as well bring him to have a drink."

The burly man’s intimidating smile was scary enough to make Zhang Yu shiver.
Yet, scared of having his cover blown, Zhang Yu forced himself to exchange pleasantries boldly.
Thereafter, Zhang Yu followed Hu Liniang with the procession but stayed silent, focusing solely on walking.
After a while, they passed through a forest and saw a straight official road ahead.
Beside the road, several horse carriages were parked, with horses tied to the trees.
The burly man stopped, sniffed the air, then his expression changed drastically: "We must leave quickly, there’s a mage here, let’s hurry away..."
Hu Liniang’s face also shifted slightly. She whispered to Zhang Yu: "Stay back a little, don’t follow us anymore. If you’re discovered, run to find the mage."
Zhang Yu nodded hastily: "Alright."
He glanced at the carriages beside the road and spotted sothing.
He noticed the Luo Family emblem on the carriages.
Thinking carefully, he realized Xiao Yuan and Anning must have escorted Miss Luo to the Capital for the wedding and were now returning to Yang City.
Gaining confidence from this thought, Zhang Yu decided to linger behind.
Zhang Yu initially planned to trail behind until the demons left before going to Xiao Yuan.
However, unbeknownst to him, the burly man was still watching him closely. After walking so distance, he yelled: "Where’s Hu Liniang’s brother? Where did he go?"
Hearing this alard Zhang Yu; he didn’t care if he’d be exposed and dashed towards the Luo Family’s convoy, shouting as he ran: "Brother Xiao, help, help..."
