Su Leqing was terrified to leave her ho at the onset of the apocalypse in her past life.
She didn’t understand where superpowers ca from or when they first appeared.
In her past life, human superpowers erged later than zombies.
So of the humans who fell into comas didn’t beco zombies; instead, they developed superpowers.
And there were also so who developed superpowers only after falling into a coma post the ergence of zombies.
Yu Ping belonged to the latter group.
He fell into a coma about ten days into the apocalypse and upon waking, discovered he had beco a Superpower User.
But now, with Anning’s dicine made, all comatose humans had been administered the drug, eradicating the virus within them. The likelihood of the appearance of either zombies or Superpower Users was almost none.
But Su Leqing was unaware of this.
She was baffled—how could the Zombie Virus be cured? Where did all the Superpower Users go?
The family mbers of those killed by Su Leqing were making a scene outside, so so emotionally charged that they were about to burst in.
Yu Ping tried to stop them but couldn’t, so he discussed with Su Peng about letting Su Leqing co out to explain.
Su Peng then ca to talk to Su Leqing about it.
Su Leqing dared not go out.
She stubbornly stayed in bed and wouldn’t move: "I won’t go, Dad, go and explain for , I’m not going. If I go out, they’ll tear to pieces."
Mother Yu was loitering outside and, upon hearing Su Leqing’s words, she charged into the room.
"Tear you to pieces? I myself want to tear you apart. My poor daughters, they could have been fine; it’s all because of you, you wretch, killing them. You owe my daughters’ lives, you owe my daughters’ lives..."
Mother Yu, strong as she was, broke through Su Peng’s attempt to stop her, charged to the bed, pulled Su Leqing up, and slapped her several tis across the face, causing Su Leqing’s face to swell up imdiately.
Su Leqing got angry, too, and slapped Mother Yu back: "I killed zombies, who would’ve thought the governnt could develop such a drug? My intentions weren’t wrong back then. If I hadn’t killed them, they would’ve spread the Zombie Virus. When I killed them, didn’t you all agree too? And now you co blaming for this."
Mother Yu was struck by Su Leqing and sat on the ground, wailing non-stop.
While the commotion was in full swing, Yu Ping ca running in: "Lele, the police are outside looking for you."
Su Leqing’s face imdiately turned pale.
Mother Yu said with a sense of triumph, "See, the police have co. They’re definitely here to arrest you."
Su Leqing thought about running away, but she knew she had nowhere to go.
If she ran out, the crowd outside might tear her to shreds. Better to go with the police than face that.
Su Leqing descended from upstairs only to see two police officers standing in the living room.
They sized up Su Leqing: "Are you Su Leqing?"
Su Leqing ekly responded, "Yes."
"Co with us, please."
Once Su Leqing was on the police car and they had driven a distance, she noticed sothing was off.
The car wasn’t heading towards the police station, but to the outskirts of the city.
Su Leqing imdiately started shouting: "I want to get off. You are not police. Who are you people? Let go, let go now, or I’ll call the police."
One of the officers pulled out a badge: "We are confird as police officers. Now sit down and behave yourself, or you’ll be adding to your charges."
Su Leqing dared not scream anymore, but her eyes were still full of vigilance and fear.
The police car stopped in front of a building on the outskirts.
After parking, the two police officers yanked Su Leqing from the car and led her inside.
In the lobby of the building, there were two people in white lab coats waiting.
Seeing Su Leqing, they smiled at the two police officers: "Thanks for your help bringing her here."
The police officers shook hands with the ones in lab coats: "Alright, we’ve delivered her. We’ll be heading back now."
At this ti, Su Leqing seed to understand sothing, and the color had drained from her lips in fear.
She wanted to run away, but she knew she couldn’t.
Her legs were so weak she could hardly stand, let alone run.
"What do you want to do?"
The scientists in white lab coats weren’t interested in wasting words with Su Leqing. They simply hoisted her up and dragged her into the laboratory.
Once she was brought to the laboratory, Su Leqing was locked in a small room, which had no TV, no cell phone, no computer, and not even a single book. Su Leqing nearly went mad after being confined there for a whole day.
When she was in a state of extre ntal instability, she was taken out and hypnotized.
Several scientists in white lab coats surrounded her, quietly asking her questions.
"Do you have a space?"
Su Leqing’s face broke into a smile: "Yes, I have a space, I have a space, I am very powerful. My space is huge, filled with supplies. The apocalypse is coming, but I’m not afraid. I have food, I have clothes; I am not scared at all."
"What is the carrier of your space?"
"It’s a bracelet. I stole it from Tang Anning. Tang Anning is really a fool, having such a great Space Bracelet but not keeping it for herself. Instead, she wanted to play the Holy Mother, to donate it to the nation, saying it was to save all of humanity. What a fool. Anyway, she was going to give it away, so I might as well take it first."
"How did you know that the apocalypse was coming?"
"I am reborn, how could I not know, in my previous life..."
After being hypnotized, Su Leqing answered whatever she was asked, and it didn’t take long for her true colors to be revealed.
After all the questions were asked, the researchers gathered for a eting.
Su Leqing’s mories were of little help to the nation.
Her mories were all about the apocalypse, but now with the zombie virus cured, what apocalypse is there?
The only thing of value was the Space Bracelet she ntioned.
However, this space was bound to her, and it would be of no use to anyone else.
What the researchers needed to do now was to study how to break the binding and then find a way to extract the space from Su Leqing.
Of course, so people were specifically looking for Anning.
They wanted to hear Anning’s opinion.
Moreover, the higher-ups had spoken: the Space Bracelet was Anning’s family heirloom, and since Anning seed to be aware of it, they needed to give her an explanation. If Anning wanted to retrieve the bracelet, then it should be returned to her.
If Anning agreed to give it to the nation, the nation couldn’t just take it for free; so form of compensation for Anning would be necessary.
Anning also went to the research institute and saw Su Leqing, who seed to have already had a ntal breakdown. Anning said she didn’t need the bracelet, but the bracelet and the supplies inside the space couldn’t be allowed to benefit Su Leqing at all.
The leader promised Anning that neither the bracelet nor the items in the space would be left with Su Leqing.
Anning stayed in the research institute for a few days, mainly to tell the story of the bracelet’s origins and so legends left by her ancestors.
The researchers experinted for several days but were unable to separate the Space Bracelet.
So suggested that if Su Leqing died, the bracelet might detach automatically.
Several researchers wanted to try, but they couldn’t just kill a living person.
Anning, however, ca up with an idea.
She suggested to the researchers whether they could inject the Zombie Virus into Su Leqing. A zombified Su Leqing would no longer be considered human; the bracelet should then detach, and after it did, dication could be administered to turn her back into a human.
This idea received unanimous approval from all the researchers.
And so, Su Leqing was tied up in the laboratory, watching wide-eyed as those scientists in white lab coats injected her with the Zombie Virus.
She scread in terror, but no one paid any attention to her.
Anning was also present, watching on the side. As Su Leqing was being injected with the virus, she heard Anning whisper in her ear: "Did you really think my belongings would be so easy to take? To steal from , one must pay the price."
Su Leqing glared at Anning venomously.
"You will not die a good death, you will not have a good ending, you..."
She couldn’t even finish her words before Anning knocked her out with a slap.
