No sooner had the words left her lips than the Commandery Princess Dongyang dashed out. Her sudden decisiveness took Mu Shaoling by surprise.
For so reason, he felt disturbed deep within, and there was also a sense of emptiness. He told himself he must have not rested well or perhaps he was overthinking it. Why else would he feel this way?
Mu Shaoling shook his head and asked the inn’s attendant to prepare so water for him, planning to sleep early tonight and set sail at dawn.
He was quite puzzled—after all, it wasn’t so bewildering island, nor was there any mist, so why couldn’t it be found?
Moreover, fish mint wasn’t an exceptionally rare herb but only had a short growing period. With a careful search on the island, one would surely find it.
Thinking this, Mu Shaoling beca irritated. It was utterly useless—such a simple herb and they couldn’t find it.
The more he thought about it, the more agitated he beca, which eventually kept him from falling asleep.
Lying in bed, Mu Shaoling found that the face of Commandery Princess Dongyang kept flashing across his mind. She should be on her way back to Capital City by now, right? "Sir, did you not sleep well last night? Why don’t you sleep a bit more, and we can set sail tomorrow instead?"
"Shut up!" Mu Shaoling glared at him with a headache, "What are you blabbering about? Go and prepare so water and breakfast, we’ll leave once we’ve eaten."
Having said that, he slamd the door. The servant touched his nose, startled yet again, and went downstairs, wondering why his master was in such a foul mood early in the morning, almost as if he was frustrated.
After the servant went down, Commandery Princess Dongyang also descended from the room next door. However, she was alone, and the guards and maids that usually followed her were nowhere in sight.
She sat at a table, propping her chin with her hand, looking around bored and listless.
Alright, that was the scene Mu Shaoling witnessed upon coming downstairs.
Mu Shaoling thought to himself, she actually hadn’t returned to Capital City? Wasn’t she huffily planning on going back last night? For so reason, Mu Shaoling found that the gloom in his heart seed to clear away.
Seeing her sitting there, Mu Shaoling didn’t speak but walked over and sat down right where Commandery Princess Dongyang turned her head to look.
Once Commandery Princess Dongyang saw him approaching, she huffed and turned her face away, presenting the back of her head to Mu Shaoling. She was clearly still miffed, and thus she didn’t see the trace of a smile at the corner of Mu Shaoling’s mouth.
On the other side of the stairs, the servant stood by a table full of food, looking left and right in confusion. Where had his master gone? Where had Commandery Princess Dongyang gone?
Alright, he still didn’t know the two had quarreled last night.
It was only thanks to a waiter, who recognized the pair, that he was inford his master and the young lady were at another table. So he had to trouble soone to help carry the als over.
"Master, why did you sit over here?" the servant wanted to say, didn’t I tell you it was the table to the left of the stairs?
But then Mu Shaoling glared at him, "Do I need your permission to decide where I sit?"
Imdiately, the servant fell silent.
And obediently went down to eat his al.
When the food arrived, Commandery Princess Dongyang didn’t hold back, grabbing a bun to eat. She bit into it with vigor, and there was even a hint of biting anger, making Mu Shaoling feel as though what she was eating wasn’t the bun, but his own flesh.
