"Madam, does this look the sa as what you described?"
Yang Chuxia inspected it and saw that, indeed, the pastry had risen and was soft, but unfortunately it lacked cream and fruit.
"It’s quite different from what I wanted. I was looking for two layers, preferably with cream on top, which is made from cow’s milk and eggs. Then, we could arrange so fruit on it, give it a bit of flair to make it look nicer. You know, Yangyang likes pretty things."
Sister-in-law Li nodded after hearing this and then asked, "For the cream, besides eggs and cow’s milk, do I need anything else? Should I use the whole egg, or just the egg white or yolk?"
Sister-in-law Li was good at making pastries and often used eggs, so her questions were rather detailed.
"I rember it’s made with egg whites, and you might need to add so sugar and salt for taste. As for the proportions, I’m afraid you’ll have to figure it out. If you really can’t make it, then never mind."
"Ah, I see," she replied.
Yang Chuxia was seeking to see if Sister-in-law Li could successfully make a cake, as the birthdays of Lele and Yangyang were just a couple of days away. She wanted to prepare sothing special for her son.
Last year, she had celebrated the birthdays of her two sons on the road, and although they had a belated birthday ceremony of grabbing objects after arriving in Mianyang, it wasn’t celebrated on the actual day, making her feel as if she had let her sons down. That’s why she resolved to make up for it properly this year.
After Sister-in-law Li left, Fugui arrived.
