"Really?" She pinched her own cheek in response to his hand, and Ye Zi’an smiled, "I thought I had gained weight."
"Nonsense, all three masters have lost weight, and so have your sons." The two boys’ chubby cheeks were gone, "Sit here for a while, I’ll go check the kitchen, and we’ll have lunch together soon. I’ve asked Li’s mother to help stew so old hen soup with so dicinal herbs in it, you should have so later."
"Great! Thank you, my lady."
Yang Chuxia bent down to kiss him and then left.
Once Yang Chuxia was out, Ye Zi’an closed his eyes and thought about the case that had occurred recently; it was simply too perfectly executed. Apart from the ship he had to investigate tonight, there wasn’t a single flaw to be found. However, such perfection could be achieved once or twice, but it was unlikely to hold up every ti.
"Has Handso Daddy fallen asleep?"
A tiny voice ca through.
"It looks like he has."
"Won’t Handso Daddy be cold like this?" Yangyang tugged at his brother’s hand, "Let’s go get a blanket for Handso Daddy."
"Okay, let’s go!"
Hearing this, Ye Zi’an stopped pretending to sleep, opened his eyes, and smiled contentedly as he saw his two sons turn to walk out.
"Lele, Yangyang."
At the sound of his voice, Yangyang imdiately perked up, wriggled free from his brother, and dashed over, "Handso Daddy, you’re awake?"
"Mhm." Ye Zi’an looked at his younger son, whose complexion was indeed a bit yellow, and then at his elder son, who was no longer as rosy-cheeked as before.
He beckoned for his elder son to co closer, "What have you two been doing at ho these days?"
"Playing with my brother, and Mother wouldn’t let practice calligraphy."
"Mhm, your mother saw you were just getting over an illness and wanted you to rest. Once you’re fully recovered, you can start learning again."
Upon hearing this, Lele nodded obediently, "I know, Mother told ."
"That’s good. Your mother ntioned that you’ve managed to morize the entire Three Character Classic?" This was sothing Yang Chuxia had ntioned to him before Lele fell ill, sothing he’d ant to ask the boy, but had forgotten due to being preoccupied these past few days.
"I’ve morized it. Daddy, teach the remaining characters, please. I can recite it all, but there are still so characters I don’t recognize."
Ye Zi’an considered that he had nothing scheduled for the afternoon and that he wouldn’t be going out in the evening, so he nodded.
"Then this afternoon, Daddy will teach you a few characters first. We won’t learn too much at once, a little at a ti, okay?"
"Okay."
Yangyang was swinging his arm on the side, "Handso Daddy, I want to learn too."
"Then you can learn together."
After lunch, Ye Zi’an took his two sons to his study.
Yang Chuxia was selecting fabrics, thinking of making two new sets of clothes for Yangyang and Lele, as children grow up fast.
But then she saw Mingcui walk in with a box, glancing back and forth between it and her.
"Why do you keep looking at ? Is there sothing on my face?" Yang Chuxia’s gaze returned from a large chest.
"No, not at all. It’s just that I... I..." Mingcui seed uncertain whether to ask or not.
"Speak up, I get annoyed when you all hem and haw for no reason." Yang Chuxia thought to herself, this girl had been with her for several years now, how could she still not understand her temperant.
Considering the lady’s usual manner, Mingcui finally spoke up, "My lady, didn’t you ask to bring tea and snacks to the young master and the little master? But before that, hadn’t you already sent Ming Yu to do it?"
"Ming Yu?" Yang Chuxia frowned slightly, "No, I didn’t ask her to bring any tea over."
