Yet, the Cao Family was in no state to think about going to the officials, as Old Master Cao had been injured in a fall and needed urgent treatnt. On top of that, the entire family was splattered with manure and hadn’t recovered from the disgust, and then relatives and neighbors from the Cao Family started showing up.
They were there for money. They had followed the Cao Family to Yangshu Village and got so manure on them too — what an utterly disgusting affair.
But the Cao Family didn’t get any silver from the Ye Family, so where could they get the money to give these people?
When the Cao Family didn’t pay up, these people started taking things from the Cao ho. The Cao Family resisted and turmoil ensued.
Overall, the Cao Family was in chaos at the mont, completely unable to concern themselves with going to the authorities.
