The Emperor was just a few years old and already had so many thoughts about him—what would happen when he got even bigger? He had to keep so cards up his sleeve, and there were things he needed to start preparing for.
Ye Zi’an heard Lele’s words while tidying up the ga, his eyes twinkled, and he seed to understand his son’s intentions. He was pleased to see it happen.
He had always believed that children should learn more, being talented both in the literary and martial arts would be better. Even if they chose not to pursue a martial path in the future, having the skills to protect oneself was always a good thing.
"Wow, brother, co look, there are so many animals!" Yangyang, with a hand on his hip and the other waving at Lele, exclaid, "So many! Look how fat this rabbit is."
As he spoke, he couldn’t help but walk over and grab the rabbit by both ears.
"I think this pheasant is pretty good," Lele remarked after just a glance, "Mother, let’s roast a chicken tonight, I want to eat roasted chicken legs."
Upon hearing this, Ye Zi’an laughed and looked at Yang Chuxia, see, he’d said all three of them loved to eat.
"That sounds good, with so much ga, let’s have roast at tonight."
Old Mu helped Ye Zi’an drag the ga, and when he saw the deer, he perked up, "You were able to get a deer too? Tonight, let’s have the kitchen stir-fry venison. This stuff is quite rare."
"Okay, we won’t be able to finish all this, let’s send so to my cousin’s place and to Mu Residence as well."
Yang Chuxia said as she went to summon the servants to divide the spoils.
They sent a share of the venison and other ga to both households.
Yangyang looked at the little rabbit in his hands, skewered with an arrow. Thinking about the little monkeys he had brought back from the street last ti, he lifted the rabbit and asked, "Mom, do monkeys eat raw rabbit at?"
"Most monkeys eat fruits, though if you feed them they might eat at too. However, your mom suggests you roast it before feeding them."
"Is that so?" Yangyang considered this and put down the rabbit. But when he saw the arrow again, he suddenly realized he had overlooked sothing and imdiately yelled, "That’s not right!"
"What’s not right?" Yang Chuxia and Ye Zi’an simultaneously looked toward him.
They saw his round little face, with sparks flashing in his eyes, huffing, "Why didn’t you take us when you went hunting?"
"..." Ye Zi’an thought, if he had brought him along, how could he and his wife have ridden together?
"..." Yang Chuxia thought to herself, she had thought he decided not to pursue the matter, but it turned out he had just forgotten.
Lele simply rolled his eyes, his little brother was so naive; their parents clearly found them botherso.
"You go out to play without us, leave your son behind and have fun on your own, is that really okay?" The little guy kept shouting seeing the adults not responding.
How could they go hunting, sothing so fun, without him?
"I want to shoot arrows, I want to ride horses, I want to hunt little rabbits myself." He stomped over to Ye Zi’an, grabbing his hemline and refusing to let go, "Handso dad, I want to go too, I want to go."
"Don’t tug at your dad’s clothes." Seeing him bawling, Ye Zi’an frowned slightly, "Alright, alright, it’s just hunting, no big deal, when dad’s free another day, he’ll take you, okay?"
Hearing Ye Zi’an capitulate so easily, Yangyang could hardly believe his ears. Why was handso dad so easygoing today?
"Alright is alright, but... but when is another day?" That’s right, handso dad was so clever, he needed to nail down a ti, otherwise ’another day’ could lead to any day, and he couldn’t let him be swayed.
"Is tomorrow okay?" Ye Zi’an said with a wry smile, this rascal really didn’t trust him.
