"Mother!" Lele called out again, wondering if his mother was blaming him for not telling her.

Seeing the cautious and slightly frightened look on his little face, Yang Chuxia’s heart felt another sting. She stretched out her arm, pulled him close, and said, "Good child, be good. Mother doesn’t bla you. Take your brother inside first. It’s very late, and children shouldn’t go to bed so late. Mother will take care of father, and I’ll think of sothing. Your father will certainly be alright, don’t worry."

"Mother, but Uncle still doesn’t know about the dicine." Upon hearing her words, Lele quickly responded.

"Isn’t Uncle researching it? Uncle is very capable, we have to believe in him, right?" Yang Chuxia patted both of her sons’ heads again. "Alright, go get so rest. And rember, since Dad didn’t want you to tell , you shouldn’t tell Dad that I know, okay?"

"Ah?" Lele was troubled. Why was that?

"Lele has to be fair. You keep secrets for Dad, and you keep secrets for Mother too."

"Alright then."

"And what about you, Yangyang?" Yang Chuxia saw his eyes were red and his nose was too, and tears were still streaming down his face. When she asked him, he didn’t speak but nodded his head.

"Such good children, now go inside. Your beautiful father is still alive, no more crying, alright? Crying is inauspicious."

Upon hearing this, Yangyang hurriedly wiped his tears with his sleeve, his voice choked up, "Then I will not cry. I want to bring good fortune. I want my beautiful father to be well."

"Yes, he will be."

Watching her two sons go back into the room, and after instructing the servants and maids in the courtyard a few words, she headed outside the courtyard.

She couldn’t cry in front of her sons. They were still young, and she was their support. But once outside the courtyard, she could no longer hold back her tears.

It took a good while before she stopped, dried her eyes and went back to her own courtyard.

"Madam, what’s the matter?" Mingcui was startled to see her returning in such a state. What happened? She had just gone to visit the young masters, so why was she crying on her return?

"Hush, go heat so water for my bath and also bring a block of ice."

"Yes!"

Very soon, Mingcui and others brought the items, and Yang Chuxia took so clothes to bathe, while pressing an ice-wrapped towel against her eyes.

Ye Zi’an, who had washed up and was lying in the bedroom, was clearly agitated. Rolling on the bed like flipping pancakes, he flipped this way and that, all the while wondering why his wife still hadn’t returned.

At the sa ti, he thought, did his wife actually find out anything? Perhaps she didn’t go to their son’s room but to Mu Shaoling instead. He also wondered if that damn man had kept it a secret for him.

Moreover, what should he do if his wife was still so passionate tonight? Constantly making excuses would surely hurt her feelings.

"Oh, how annoying!" Ye Zi’an was rarely so irritable, his hands haphazardly scratching his head.

When Yang Chuxia ca in after the bath, that was the scene she saw.

"Have you got lice on your head? You’re scratching so vigorously?"

"Ah?" Ye Zi’an’s scratching hands suddenly halted, and looking up, he saw Yang Chuxia, fresh from her bath, leaning against the door. He imdiately got off the bed, approached her, and wanted to embrace her, yet seed hesitant as well, his hands reaching out then drawing back.

At last, he complained, "Wife, why did you take so long?"

"I went to see our sons, got the two little guys to sleep, then visited our daughter, and took a bath. Naturally, it took so ti," she said.

Hearing this, Ye Zi’an instantly let out a sigh of relief.
