Lele paused, then said to Little Li’s mother, "Oh right, later I’ll have Sister Mingcui co over to help take care of my little brother and sister. After all, Brother Li Wen is there to look after father."
"Alright, this old servant will heed the young master’s order," she replied.
anwhile, Yang Chuxia, whom they were waiting for, was frantically traveling, not delaying even a mont. Two horses had already died on her from exhaustion, and after switching to a fresh one, she continued her journey at breakneck speed.
She was nearing Shandong Prefecture City when a gang of highwayn appeared in front of her.
"Madam Ye’s deeds really are distressing and maddening," ca the familiar voice from the person in black with a silver mask.
"It’s you again?" Yang Chuxia lifted the curtain to look, and her eyes blazed with anger as she quickly drew out the golden thread from her waist. Hidden needles coated with poison flew out from amidst the flowers.
"Madam Ye isn’t very friendly, is she? To attack with lethal moves right away is rather disheartening. Don’t forget, if it weren’t for the antidote I provided, Lord Ye might have already died."
Upon hearing these words, not only did Yang Chuxia not feel repelled, but her brows were filled with joy. All along the way, she had been worried that she would not make it back to the prefecture in ti. Hearing him speak, she knew Brother An was still alive, alive and well.
"Madam Ye, I’ve brought you news. Shouldn’t you leave sothing in return?"
"What do you want?"
The person in black stated plainly, "I want the items in your carriage."
"No way!" Yang Chuxia flatly refused. This was what she needed to save Brother An—how could she give it away to just anyone? If she gave it to this person, why would she have bothered to travel all the way back to Funan?
"Madam Ye, I won’t stop you from trying to save Lord Ye. You can keep the dicine for one person, but as for the rest of Shandong, you should stop trying to save them. Getting involved too much is not a good thing. Besides, I want chaos in Shandong, I want chaos all over the world. You might be able to stop it for a mont, but can you stop it forever?"
Upon hearing Yang Chuxia’s rejection, the entire deanor of the man beca instantly grim.
Yang Chuxia, however, was internally in turmoil after hearing his words. What did he just say? He wants chaos in Shandong, chaos in the whole world? For what purpose?
Yang Chuxia looked carefully at him again. The silhouette of the man on horseback gave her a sense of familiarity, as if she had seen him sowhere before. The somber aura around him seed familiar, as though she had seen it on soone else before.
"Prince Le?"
Indeed, just then, she rembered where she had seen this person before—she had encountered Prince Le once in the imperial hunting grounds. At that ti, she felt that the prince’s silhouette was very familiar. Now that she thought about it, she had been chasing him all around Mianyang at the ti—how could she not recognize him?
"Prince Le? Heh, that useless thing, a cowardly waste, dares to be ntioned in the sa breath as ?"
Before Yang Chuxia could finish, he began to denigrate Prince Le incessantly, "Look at him, among all the brothers, besides your son’s poorly managed princedom, his is the worst. Yet, does he dare to fight back? No! As a prince, he’s such a coward! The woman he loves marries the enemy, yet he dares do nothing! Such an irresponsible waste, to compare to him is an insult to !"
He paused before adding, "You’re going to pay for insulting in that way."
In an instant, he engaged in combat with Yang Chuxia, every move a threat to kill. Yang Chuxia could tell that he had truly beco murderous.
Yet what made her more curious than the fight itself were his words. Why would ntioning Prince Le make him so angry? Could it be that this man was not Prince Le but soone related to Prince Le?
His angry tone seed to carry a sense of exasperation, as if he was angry at soone’s failure to et expectations.
