After punishing the corrupt officials and collecting the silver, Ye Zi’an found himself troubled. With so much silver, how could it be transported to the Capital City? With so much, he feared soone unafraid of death might attempt to rob it on the way.
"Find the garrison troops to escort it," Yang Chuxia suggested. "The garrison here in Zhejiang might not be moved easily, as coastal areas often have pirates and such. Although Zhejiang has never been invaded by pirates, we can’t afford to be complacent. It would be better to transfer people from Lingfu Prefecture."
"Yes, what you say makes sense," he agreed. "I will write to them. Once the silver is sent off, we can head to Yunchuan. But the commotion in Zhejiang is quite significant this ti, and I fear it might not be easy to investigate other places. Our traces might be harder to disguise."
"What are you afraid of?" replied Yang Chuxia. "I think we shouldn’t go to Yunchuan next, or rather, you shouldn’t go yet. I’d take Lele and so people to Yunchuan. The news of Yangyang appearing in Yunchuan might have caught the attention of those who care. They probably think we’re heading to Yunchuan, and other prefectures outside of Yunchuan will surely lower their guard. Yet we act counter to expectations."
"We don’t need to split up. We’ll go to Yunchuan as planned," Ye Zi’an said. "As for other prefectures, let Ye Yi and his n investigate."
"That works too."
Ye Zi’an went to handle his official business, and soone reported that Luo Linfei was making a fuss about committing suicide.
Upon hearing this, a cold gleam flashed in Yang Chuxia’s eyes.
She despised those who threatened life and death at a whim. If soone wanted to die, they could have done so when they were first humiliated—biting their tongue, banging their head against the wall, any thod would have worked.
Why not die early? After everything has passed, they throw a fit about suicide—aren’t they sick?
"Madam, do you want to go check?" The only maid accompanying her on this trip was Ming Lan, who had just co from Luo Linfei’s quarters.
"I won’t go!" Yang Chuxia waved her hand dismissively. "Tell her if she wants to die, then just die. Ask her what thod she prefers, and I’ll prepare the tools. There’s a rope for hanging, made of wrought iron, so it definitely won’t snap while she’s hanging. If she wants to bang her head against a wall, just do it with force. If she plans to stab her heart, send my dagger over to her. It’s sharp enough to cut through iron; one stab and she won’t live even if she tries."
Yang Chuxia’s voice was loud, making Luo Linfei’s personal maid awkwardly stand at the entrance, unsure whether to advance or retreat.
She originally intended to persuade Yang Chuxia to intervene, but now what could she say?
The young maid stood startled, and then heard Yang Chuxia’s voice again, "If she doesn’t want to die, then pack up and get out. Either return to the Capital City or go elsewhere. This lady doesn’t have the ti or patience to entertain her."
Hearing Yang Chuxia’s words, the young maid blushed and scurried back.
She went back and exaggerated the account to Luo Linfei, who then stopped making a fuss. For a long while, no sound ca from the room.

"Good to hear," Yang Chuxia snorted coldly. "I won’t sympathize or pity her. In my view, all her misfortunes are self-inflicted. A young lady unaware of the world’s dangers, thinking that being a Luo family mber with a few companions ans no one would dare touch her? Little does she know that sotis, identity is the death warrant."
"Yes, it’s all because of my own fault. I never expected your sympathy," Luo Linfei’s cold voice ca from the doorway. "I’m leaving now, there’s no need for you to drive out, but I do have one request for you."
