Now reading: Chapter 2481 - 60 from The Comeback of the Charming Farmer's Wife, a Historical novel by Duo Ji.

He started talking about his young wife before she was even born. Is there anyone more devoted than him?

"Brother Ye Er..."

"Wife, you should call husband now." Ye Haoyang reminded her to change her form of address.

Mu Huaen was still shy but softly said, "Husband..."

Ye Haoyang was delighted.

Suddenly thinking of sothing, he let go of Mu Huaen and started searching around the room.

"What are you looking for?"

"Looking for soone who shouldn’t be here."

Thanks to his childhood experience of disrupting wedding chambers, Ye Haoyang searched carefully inside and out, even checking the roof.

Only after confirming that nothing was there did he return, chuckling, "Wife, I’ve already freshened up since I ca back. Let’s make so buns, shall we?" As he spoke, he extinguished the red candle.

The room was filled with amorous ambiance and passion ran wild.

Soon it was bright daylight, and when Mu Huaen opened her eyes, the spot beside her was already cold, indicating that the person next to her had gotten up early.

"Second Mistress, are you awake?" A nanny entered, noticing her dazed look, and smiled, "Second Master gets up early to go to the practice room every day. Before leaving, he told this old servant not to wake you."

"What ti is it now?" Mu Huaen thought about going to serve tea today and realized she should’ve gotten up early to prepare breakfast, and her heart was filled with panic.

The nanny laughed again, "Second Mistress, don’t worry. You still have one hour before the tea ceremony."

"I should be preparing breakfast for mother-in-law and the others." Mu Huaen was a bit annoyed, thinking the ti was enough to get dressed but not enough to prepare breakfast, blaming herself for not waking up earlier.

The nanny comforted her, saying, "Second Mistress, don’t worry. The lady instructed yesterday that breakfast should be prepared in the big kitchen."

Hearing this, Mu Huaen nodded, as Zhuan’er and several maids ca in to assist her in freshening up, and Ye Haoyang returned.

Perhaps due to getting married, there was a refreshing and joyous look all over him.

"Wife, you’re up? Did you sleep well last night? Still sore?"

Mu Huaen was embarrassed as he asked her in front of others.

Receiving a glare from his young wife, Ye Haoyang chuckled awkwardly and touched his nose.

"Are you ready? We should go to the Bamboo Courtyard now." Seeing him just standing there, Mu Huaen asked.

"Why go now?" Ye Haoyang pulled her along, saying, "Let’s have breakfast first, then go. My mother and the others are definitely having breakfast now too."

"Isn’t that improper?" Mu Huaen tried hard to recall what she usually heard, that when the mother-in-law was having als, the daughter-in-law should be serving by her side.

"What’s wrong? You know my mother’s temperant. If you go to serve her, she might lose her appetite."

With Ye Haoyang’s insistence, Mu Huaen had no choice but to give in.

But her mind was preoccupied with the tea ceremony, so she ate absentmindedly during breakfast.

anwhile, in the Bamboo Courtyard, Yang Chuxia had finished her al and was waiting.

As a first-ti mother-in-law, she was extrely excited.

"Oh dear, what should I say when I accept the tea later?"

Ye Zi’an was speechless, unsure, as he too was a first-ti father-in-law.

As he didn’t respond, Yang Chuxia began to adjust her outfit. "Is this outfit suitable for eting the new daughter-in-law? Is the color too bright, not dignified enough?"

Ye Rongqing, feeling exasperated, scratched his ear. "Mom, do you need to be this dramatic? You’re the one being served tea, not giving it."

"Get lost! Do you know how to speak?" Yang Chuxia rolled her eyes at him. "You misunderstand. This is the first bride in our Ye Family; of course as a mother, I have to take it seriously."

(ps1: The side story is a bit heavy, here’s a few refreshing Chapters~~)

(ps2: Soone asked, didn’t Baili Yan die? Why is Baili Han still talking about his brother? Here’s a unified explanation: the side story is set back in ti; when Baili Yan died, Ye Haoyang’s children were already around ten years old. There’s a few transitional lines in the Chapters before the ending, after Mu Huaen’s disfigurent, then a decade passes by the ti she arrives in the Capital City, followed by Baili Yan’s demise.
