Upon hearing this, the sea turtle thought to itself that even though the old monster was very evil, it was still better than those terrible people, so with a heart full of bitter tears, it sank to the bottom of the river.
"Brother An, does this an it agrees or disagrees?"
Ye Zi’an said, "I guess it’s more like it has no choice but to agree."
Hearing this, Yang Chuxia couldn’t help but giggle. It’s true, isn’t it? No matter if it’s human or animal, everyone has weaknesses. But if soone knows these weaknesses, it’s not a good thing.
The next day, Yang Chuxia brought so at as usual, and also took a duck from her ho, roasted it at Ye Zi’an’s house, and then took it to the Evil River.
When she arrived at the Evil River, she shouted, "Old monster, old monster, hurry up and co out!"
Then a certain old monster leisurely erged from the river, with a large river mussel clinging to its broad sea turtle shell.
The sight of this made Yang Chuxia very excited.
"Not bad, old monster, you’ve really kept your word!" As soon as the old monster climbed ashore, Yang Chuxia couldn’t wait to take out the food from her wooden bucket and put it in front of the old monster, and then she went to take the river mussel from its back.

But Yang Chuxia looked at the gigantic river mussel in her hand, wondering how she could open it without so sort of tool. She can’t smash it with a rock, can she?
Perhaps the old monster had sensed her hesitation as it then slowly approached her, stepped on one of her outstretched feet, causing Yang Chuxia to almost cry out in pain. Before she could do so, it stepped on the river mussel, crushing it instantly.
That’s right – it was shattered. The old monster then triumphantly glanced at Yang Chuxia before heading back to its bucket to eat.
As for Yang Chuxia, she was now staring at the shattered remnants of a large river mussel.
Holy crap, is this a pearl nest? Is this a pearl nest?! Among the smashed river mussel shell were so small pearls embedded along with the flesh. Yang Chuxia removed the broken shell to reveal a dense layer of pearls below – pink, white, purple, and even a black one.
Though the pearls weren’t very large, there were many of them. She roughly counted about a hundred in total.
"Brother An? This is such a quick way to make money!" With the old monster and having it under control, obtaining one or two silver pearls wouldn’t be a problem. But what if soone were to find out about the existence of this old monster? She suddenly realized, for all this ti, she’s been visiting it only during the day and summoning it during daylight hours. Amazingly, they never encountered anyone, thanks to Evil River’s notorious reputation that spanned many years.
Ye Zi’an looked at her stunned expression and chuckled.
Having finished its al, the old monster sank back into the riverbed.
Yang Chuxia looked at the sea turtle sinking to the bottom of the river and thought for a mont before saying, "From now on, we won’t et during the day. We have been lucky not encountering anyone these past few days, but we can’t continue like this. Old monster, next ti go to the east side of the mountain hollow which is close to the sea. I’ll bring you food at night. Coming out in the dayti is too dangerous; if soone discovers your existence, it’s ga over."
After she finished speaking, a stream of bubbles erged from the riverbed. Yang Chuxia guessed that the old monster probably understood the ssage.
So, Yang Chuxia packed up, took the pearls out of the river mussel, put them in her purse, and prepared to leave.
"Xiaxia, wait a mont, could you give so of those pearls?" Brother An asked on the way.
