Once they entered the room, everyone indeed discovered that Luo Linhao’s eyes were now just like a normal person’s, and what they saw was not a hollow.

This was actually the first ti they had seen Luo Linhao like this, a young man without an eye patch.

"Wow, Linyu, your brother is quite handso," said Yang Xiayun with a smile. Luo Linhao normally wore an eye patch, which was made quite large and often covered half of his face.

Now seeing his complete face, which resembled Old Mu to so extent, there was also a slight similarity to Ye Zi’an around the eyes and eyebrows.

Upon hearing complints about his good looks, Luo Linhao beca smug, "Obviously, who do you think I am? Could I possibly be ugly? Just look at my cousin, you know we’re related by blood, how could I be any less?"

Alright, although what he said made so sense, the key point was that Yang Xiayun, the little friend, wasn’t giving face at all.

She straightforwardly said, "But you’re still not as good-looking as my brother-in-law. My brother-in-law and Brother Shaoling are the most handso."

"Really have no taste, those two are already old n, how good-looking can they be? Can they compare to my youthful and handso self? By the ti I am in the pri of my life, both of them will be covered with wrinkles," complained Luo Linhao, who always paid great attention to his appearance. He was quite upset hearing Yang Xiayun say such things and spared no rcy when belittling Ye Zi’an and Mu Shaoling. His words were funny, making everyone in the room burst into laughter.

But Yang Xiayun wasn’t playing along with him, and the two of them went back and forth, one insisting he was good-looking and the other saying Ye Zi’an and Mu Shaoling were better-looking. Their bickering was so intense that it seed to reach Ye Zi’an, who was far away in the north, causing him to sneeze several tis in a row.

"Young master, are you not feeling well?" Just after getting off the carriage, Sister-in-law Li imdiately heard Ye Zi’an sneeze a few tis and quickly approached with concern to ask.

"It’s not that I am uncomfortable, I might have just choked earlier," he said while lifting the carriage curtain, "Mr. Luo, we’re at the inn, let’s rest for the night and then continue on the road."

"Alright, we won’t make it to the Capital City before New Year’s anyway, so we’ll likely be celebrating it on the road. It doesn’t matter if we slow down a bit," Mr. Luo replied as he got off the carriage.

At this ti, they had already arrived at Shandong Prefecture, and it would still take more than half a month to reach the Capital City. Traveling by horse-drawn carriage was slow; if they had quickly ridden horses, they should have already been in the Capital City by now.

It was already evening, and they found an inn to stay at in a small frontier town in Shandong Prefecture.

The innkeeper, seeing that the guests had co from far away, was very enthusiastic, constantly recomnding the inn’s specialties to Ye Zi’an and the others.

Ye Zi’an didn’t refuse, took two upper rooms, and also took two middle-grade rooms. When it ca ti for dinner, they picked many of the specialty dishes, which pleased the innkeeper so much, he was grinning from ear to ear.

After having dinner, having traveled for a whole day, they were all a bit tired and decided to wash up and rest. It was quite cold in the north at this ti, and the nightly winds blew fiercely. Fortunately, Sister-in-law Li, being attentive, had prepared hot water bags for him, and since he was a man with strong vitality, he was warm enough. However, he thought about Xiaxia coming to the north and worried that she might not be able to withstand the cold.

His mind turned to the thought that Xiaxia should be about three months pregnant by now, and by next March or April, she would be six or seven months along. If he rode fast, he just might be able to arrive in ti for the birth of their child. He had heard that childbirth was quite dangerous, so Ye Zi’an was determined to hurry back to be at peace.

Lying in bed thinking about these matters, the more he thought, the more he found himself unable to sleep.

So, he decided to catch up on sleep in the carriage the next day. However, just after 1 a.m., a commotion erupted in the small town, and Ye Zi’an looked out the window to see a crowd of people frantically fleeing.
